Dlink 320t modem: No adsl light - no idea why!

Hi,
My mac mini has been working perfectly well for the last 2 years using a dlink 320t modem with an ethernet connection. A couple of days ago it decided it can no longer connect to the internet, and the ADSL light is now out completely
In the system preferences pane I have tried to re-enter the isp information and apply as before, and have checked that it is set to a pppoe/a setting, all to no avail.
My ISP (Tiscali) are claiming that the connection seems fine from their end, and as they have 'limited mac support' they cannot help any further.
Dlink are adamant that after re-setting the router there is no problem with it and that it must be something to do with my connection.
Apple support want £35 to try and help over the phone but there is no guarantee they can fix the problem.

Internet connection dies once DLINK 502 modem is attached to Airport, why?

I'm recently bought a DLINK 502T to get online. It's working - just - as long as the modem is plugged
into the Macbook via ethernet. But as soon as I plug the ethernet cable into the Airport Express the internet connection dies. I have reset, restarted, done the usual but to no joy. The airport connection is fine, the green light is on and according to the modem the ADSL connection is fine - so does anyone know where the fault could be? Used the airport recently on another set up and all was fine... Could this be a modem issue?

Figured it out, well, after a couple of hours googling anyhow.
Basically my DLINK modem/router was competing with the Airport Express - which is also a router, if not a modem.
So I needed to put the DLINK into 'Bridge' mode. So it dealt with the modem side of things and the Airport the routing side - and as soon as I set it to Bridge mode the airport did the rest. As ever a simple solution to an at times maddening problem. All is now wi-fi and sweeet - the 10.5.2 has done not time either apart from the 'airport scanning' GUI oddity.

ADSL Light Blinking

So I recently moved into a new flat, and after some initial kerfuffles (having to get a BT engineer to put in a new phone line etc.), my EE Broadband has been activated. Unfortunately, due to lack of caffeine when ordering the broadband, I got my address wrong, and so the Brightbox was sent to... well I don't really know. EE were happy to replace the brightbox, and I'm told it's in the mail. My service has been activated, I'm told. But in the meantime, since I need a decent net connection for my job, I decided to try things out with another router / modem. I happened to have a brand new, still in the box Netgear DGN1000 N150 wireless modem router sitting around (as you do), so I decided to give that a whirl. Plugged it all in, wireless working fine. Phone working fine. Internet not working. The ADSL light is blinking, and the internet connectivity light is a rather angry looking red. Here are the steps I've taken to try and resolve from my end. None of them have worked... 1) Quiet line test with the phone.2) Swapped out the ADSL filter.3) Plugged it into the test socket.4) Removed the phone from the filter, so it's just Model -> Filter -> Master Socket5) Switched it off and on several times.6) Tried several times to re-enter my EE username and password, to make sure there were no mistakes.7) Curled up on the floor and wept like a small child. Anyway, anyone got any ideas?

OpenReach ADSL Light

I have been the recipient of an extremely poor customer service experience. Having waited well over 15 minutes for someone to pick up the phone I was greeted with someone who obviously wasnt trained to deal with or answer any basic questions, it was particulalry embarrassing for me to have to speak in a slow concise manner so that I could make myself understood, the guy could not converse in English so it was a difficult conversation. My whole purpose of the call was to try and get some clarity on a very simple question? Does the ADSL light on the Openreach box have to be illumintaed to indicate whether its working correctly or not? Lightening struck my house yesterday and the router popped. I have now lost broadband but not sure whether the openreach box is faulty. Does the ADSL light illuminate only if it is connected to a router, or should it be illuminated irrespective of a router connected? The network light will only illuminate when its connected to a router so this is why I ask the question? The guy from the call center is sending me an ADSL filter, I didnt have the patience to explain that there is now ADSL filetr on the openreach box, needless to say one is on its way. Can anyone help with this question?

I'm sorry about the poor service provided when you called. My understanding is that if the DSL light on the Openreach modem is off it is not getting a broadband connection and having router connected will not affect the DSL light. There are a few different types of Openreach router and the light meanings can vary slightly but this link should help you determine the meaning of these. Please post back here if you need any further help.

You probably don't really need 1080 at 60 for your finished projects but since you're just starting out with Motion, you need to lower your expectations. A long way. 1080 is about 2 million pixels per frame, DV is only about 400,000. That's not just five times as many pixels for the Mac to track; everything in video is exponential.
Explore the training tutorials available by Mark Spencer. You will get an idea of how his super powerful machine reacts with the software.
Adding a light roughly doubles the processing time over flat scenes. Two lights increases processing again. Reflections require processing the lights and then calculating the reflections so add another quarter of the time required for flat scenes. Add camera movement, motion blur, and depth of field and you need exponentially more processing time for every frame. The preload of renders into RAM is one of the cooler features of Motion, as comapred to After Effects, but that takes tons of time, to.
Try working in ye olde DV resolution for a few days. Get to know the software's limitations and what gets imposed by your Macintosh. Step up to 720p/30 and see how things slow down.

That also indicates a hardware issue with the power and/or home buttons.

Special Problem- Washed out light PDFs created from Revit- any ideas why?

This may be a very specialty type question… I have posted it for my Revit discussion folks… but it is to do with Adobe’s software… so I thought I would try here as well.
The issue is occurring when creating PDFs from Revit 2010.
The issue is that when we print to PDF the pen weights that we see when the PDF is created do not match the look of the Revit Pen weights and shades are worse… they are lighter… in both cases they lighten up… which gives us a washed out drawing…
Hope that someone has seen this and may have a quick fix… This is really been a big issue… and it would be great to have it fixed…
Hope there are some Revit users on your form… or perhaps someone who may have an idea why Adobe may act so oddly with Revit…

Now when that aplication or extention from Itune is working my computor froze to a huge alt. I play video games online and love listening to my music with itune playing in the background and normally was able to have firefox open and a program called ventrillo all working at the same time and now i can barelly have itune and play a game. As soon it start been choppy i just control alt delete wait 5 minute to close down apsdaemon.exe when i'm capable most of the time i have to restart my computor. And why is it so Heavy consuming on the process its memory utility is under the 100ko i believe so why 99% of my processus is been use ?
a good exemple i could give is itune.exe working it shows process 02% for 123 000ko that is light and perfect.

Itunes crashes when iTunes Match runs its Step 3 (not before) - any ideas why and how to fix it?

Every time iTunes runs the iTunes Match, when iTunes MAtch gets to Step 3 - iTunes stops working - ie crashes. Any idea why and how to fix it? The songs are still uploaded to iCloud etc... but it crashe iTunes every single time

I cannot explain the failure, but I can tell you that I have a string of approx. 24 emails with Apple and a combined 10hrs of talk time with Apple customer reps that tried helping me precisely for the issue that iTunes Match would crash at Step 3 without fail. Apple even logged my Console and I was talking to an engineer that literally wrote part of the code for iTunes Match (that was the fourth and last level of customer care I was escalated to). The poor man almost quite his job, and I just about demanded a refund for my $25, since iTunes Match simply wasn't working.
Then I studied at a friend's place, and I noticed that all of a sudden, while iTunes was running in the background, half my library was already uploaded and things were progressing smoothly. It turns out that it had something to do with my modem specifically, as I had already hooked up my computer straight to the modem, taking the router (TimeCapsule) out of the equation. Nothing worked. Firewalls were turned off, no AntiVirus existed, and Apple engineers tried everything possible, incl. remote access on my computer, to get this to work. Nothing worked as long as I was connected to a Motorola Surboard.
At every other network, wether at Starbucks, my university, or at friends places, however, iTunes Match worked flawlessly.
After some research online, it turnes out that a handful of people with Motorola Surrboard Xtreme cable modems had similar issues. Eversince, I simply use my neighbors wifi should I need to upload songs, and I have no issues. Oddly enough, matching (not uploading) works just fine with my Motorola.
Don't ask me how or why, I am interested in computers and work with them a lot, but I am no engineer. I can tell you that simple scientific method pinpointed to the modem, and I haven't had issues since then.

You have to do it app wise, which means that the icon won't show up in settings, but you will be able to move files from your local drive to iCloud via the Numbers app (move... > choose the iCloud option).
It requires that you set up the same iCloud account on all your devices and that you have the latest version of Numbers on all your devices as well.

The 1G iPod can only go as high as 3.1.3. The 1G does not have an internal speaker or volume buttons on the upper left edge.

Keep in mind, Audible is not Apple software and Apple is not responsible for third party software compatibility.
