Dll file removal reader 8.1.1

I tried to install 8.1.2 but received error 1714. I then tried to uninstall 8.1.1 using the uninstaller, it did not work. I then tried the manual uninstall (kb 400769). There are three dll files that will not uninstall. They are AcroIEHelper.dll, AcroPDF.dll, and pdfshell.dll. They all reside in the Active X folder. No matter how I have tried I always receive an "Access Denied" message. How do I go about getting rid of these three files?? They are preventing the install of 8.1.2

I am not sure what the problem is/was now. I had thought it was a permissions problem but the security settings were okay.
When someone becomes desperate they will try anything. I was and I did. I attempted an install of Reader 7.0.9 and it went fine. So I figured I would at least be able to read my pdf files. Then out of the blue came a notification for update 8.1.1 and I thought, well, why not. It downloaded and started the install before I realized it was actually 8.1.2. And, much to my amazement the install went as desired. So now I have the current Reader. I have no idea what the problem was, if it has been solved or will come up again at the next update. We will see.~ ~ ~ ~Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

  • Reading .dll file

    Hello,

    can i read a .dll file using java?..is there any java way to extract functions from a .dll file?
    Read/extract means what ?
    You can certainly use Java native interface (JNI).
    1)You load dll in java using System.loadLibrary("mydll');
    2)You define method in your java class such as
    public native String myMethod(String arg);
    Note "native" keyword is used.
    3) Then you need to compile your java code .Later you get header file using javah.
    4) You use that header file in your C or C++ code using which you are going to generate dll.
    5) Your C/C++ method may look like this
    {code}JNIEXPORT jstring JNICALL
    Java_classname_myMethod(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj, jstring enter)
    char buf[128];
    const char *str = (*env)->GetStringUTFChars(env, enter, 0);
    printf("%s", str);
    (*env)->ReleaseStringUTFChars(env, enter, str);
    scanf("%s", buf);
    return (*env)->NewStringUTF(env, buf);
    }{code}
    You need #include <jni.h> in your c,c++ code.
    See in above example I am passing a string from java code to dll and later getting back string from dll to java class.

  • After a notice of update, I was unable to use iTunes. It said I had a missing dll file and a Windows error 7. I removed iTunes and tried to reinstall. I selected the download items off the apple site. It says thank you but still not there.

    Having problems downloading iTunes. After an update notice, I was unable to open iTunes. I de-installed and attempted to reinstall it and it still won't open.
    The first error duirn the update was a dll file missing, then a Windows error 7. The screen on the Apple site say  Thank you for downloading, but still not there.

    A msi file is short for microsoft installer.  It normally is for installation, removal, and maintenance for a program. So iTunes.msi would be used for the updating of the program.  For some reason it isnt finding this so we can't update, install, or remove it.
    From what I have seen windows installer cleanup utility solved related problems before.
    I found this forum about removing and installing a new iTunes.  It was about someone who was trying to isntall iTunes, and was looking for msi file and asked for help.   Using this should allow you to be able to install iTunes.  It won't give you the msi file but will allow you to isntall iTunes over again.
    This was what was said.
    Another option in case you can't get an msi. (Or even if you can ... the msi's mentioned in the messages may be damaged rather than missing.)
    Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
    Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
    After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
    If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
    Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
    Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • I have uninstalled and reinstalled the new iTunes but it still will not work.  I keep getting the error mesage relating to MSVCR80.dll, the installation error 7 (windows error 126). I have tried moving and removing the dll files including the QTMovie dll

    I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes 15 times regarding the latest release and still get the MSVCR80.dll and Error 7 (Windows error 126) messages.
    I have tried moving the dll filesincluding the QTMovie dll file to now avail.  Can anyone please help, as I am sure you all, like me, have thousnads of dollars and songs invested in this system and need a fix fast.  Can anyone please help???

    Dear avid iTunes users - I have cracked it!!!
    The response from Apple/iTunes was extremely poor and did not solve the problem.
    I have a look in msconfig and observed which applications/services were running - one of which was the 'Apple Application Support'
    So ... I had a look at what was in this folder and found the APS Daemon.exe file causing all the trouble.
    So ... I simply deleted the Apple folder found in C:\program files\common files\.
    I did a restart and did not get the MSCVCR80.dll or Error 7 (windows 126) error messages.
    I reinstalled the current version of iTunes (for the 16th time!)
    Hey presto!!!
    IT WORKED :-O Woooohooo!!!
    So ... to all those smarty-pants boffin-brianiacs out there (apple/iTunes): this is how you do it!!!!!!!!!!
    YOU DO NOT NEED TO UNINSTALL ALL THE APPLE/QUICKTIME OR RELATED PROGRAMS - JUST DELETE THE APPLE FOLDER IN THE C:\PROGRAM FILES DIRECTORY.
    Nuff said.

    Despite my best efforts, I am unable to remove iTunes 11.1.4 from my PC, this being made necessary because the original installation had a flaw and did not load properly. Effor to use the control panel, deleting dll. files, etc. all failed. And, of course, on startup, a window opens with the error and tells me find QTMovie.dll and delete it because this may be the source of the hangup. Also, in trying to delete iTunes, I get the additional message that I must get approval from the System Administrator to take this action. I am the System Administrator.
    Any ideas would be welcomed.
    Thank you.

  • Acrobat 9 dll files takes time to unload after closing the reader

    I have a Java Desktop application, in which Acrobat 9 is used to display the reports generated. Acrobat 9 does not start a child process under acrobat.exe but loads dll files in the process and they take time to unload, due to which my javaw.exe is not shutting down and i am unable to restart the application eventhough I have logged out of the application.
    This application had used Acrobat 8 previously and this was never an issue that time. Kindly help me out with this issue.

    This problem I have to solve as soon as possible... It's kind of urgent.. So if anybody has any idea about thisthen do share it, it will be highly appreciated!

  • How do I open .dll files automatically with Adobe Reader through Firefox?

    Hi,
    When I print eBay labels through Firefox, a .dll file is downloaded. This used to open automatically in Adobe Reader, but now it opens as a text document in TextEdit, so I have to manually open Adobe Reader, change options to show "all files", and then locate the .dll file and open it.
    When I try to change the default application in Firefox preferences, I can't find anything with the content type "dll".
    Is there a way to have Firefox automatically open .dll files with Adobe Reader?
    Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
    Steve

    That worked, thank you!
    I quit out of Firefox, renamed the file like you said, restarted my computer, and restarted Firefox.
    When I went to download a label, Firefox asked me which application to use, and I picked Adobe Reader. I also checked the box to make that the default. This automatically opened the file in AR, and then when I did it the next time it worked perfectly.
    Again, thank you so much for your help with this - although it's just a bit of time here and there saved it really adds up!
    Take care!

  • How to read instrument driver dll files

    Hello,
    How to read .dll files of an instrument driver? What is the programming methodology followed in dll files? I will be grtaeful to you if someone can point me a way to do this.
    Thanks,

    If you can get your hands on the driver dll sdk or source code, you can use Tools --> Import --> Shared Library (.dll)... and use the wizard to easily generate the code you need to implement it.

    Can anyone help me out in reading .dll or .exe files.

    belovedguy wrote:

    A search of Google and Wiki should allow you to find the details of the file format.

  • HT1925 I am having an issue with loading Itunes. I receive a missing dll file notice. Then another error message. I have reinstalled Windows & still get the error. I did not get the error until I recently did an ITunes update.

    I am having an issue with ITunes after a recent ITunes update. I can not open ITunes, I get a message missing MSVCR80.dll file, Then an error 7 message. I have redone the OS for Windows 7 and restarted the computer. I keep getting the errors.

    Do the following:
    Uninstall from Windows the following five programs: iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and Apple Application Support. You do this from an applet in Control Panel called Programs & Features (in Windows 8, 7, or Vista) or Add or Remove Programs (in Windows XP).
    Download the latest version of iTunes from Apple and note the location you're saving it to so you can find it once it's done.
    Run the iTunes installation as an administrator, just Right click iTunes installer and Run as Administrator.

    The other day I was prompted to update itunes.  I started to, and it crashed my itunes.  Then I tried to uninstall itunes, so that I could turn around and re-install it again.  Now I can not install itunes.  I get Runtime Error! message. R6034.  For the last two hours I have  tried deleting itunes, moving the .dll files to the desktop, restarting the computer (more times than I can count), deleting the temp files, updating my internet explorer, using the fix it program,.....
    The two messages that I am getting are:

    Also:  Service to 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Moblie Device) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient priviledges to start system services.

    I too was getting the same message regarding R6034. After many frustrating hours I went to the iTunes support page and clicked on "install and update." When that page came up I scrolled on to "removing and reinstalling iTunes......" There they tell you what files need to be removed and what order to do it in so you can reinstall iTunes. My iTunes works now and I didn't lose any music.
    About the Apple Mobile Device, well that's one of the files that has to be uninstalled. When you reinstall iTunes the Apple Mobile Device is automatically reinstalled.
    Hope this works for you as it did for me. Warning: it takes about an hour to do all this.

    If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
    HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP
    HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

    then it's fine to perform a system restore, but it will revert some changes you have made on your system.

    Most error messages relating to missing .dll files are due to virus scanners. The scanner removes the threat (the .dll file) but leaves the program behind that tries to invoke the .dll file. Your recipe of using System Restore to fix the problem could well
    backfire: It might restore the infected .dll file! This is why it is important to know the full wording of the error message. If the missing file resided in the System32 folder then it's probably OK to restore it. If it resided elsewhere then restoration would
    probably be a bad idea.

    When trying to launch ITunes I get an error message saying that application fail to start because MSVCR80.dll file not found. Reinstalling app may fix problem.

    I've just (finally) managed to fix this problem today. I checked the Apple Support forums, and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem.
    I rang the Apple Support line, and the very helpful man (thanks Alan!) talked me through it stage by stage. If you go to the following page on the internet: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376   it takes you through the process. WARNING - it takes a little time!
    Basically, the first thing you have to do is go to your Program Files and double click on your iTunes folder. There'll be a number of files with the suffix .dll - you need to move all the .dll files from that folder to your desktop - you can simply click and drag them on the desktop..
    Next, uninstall iTunes - go to Control Panel / Add/Rempve Programs and when the list comes up remove iTunes. This will take a few minutes... Then reboot your computer.
    Next, go back to Control Panel / Add Remove and Remove - IN THIS ORDER -
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot again!
    Next, check in your Program Files that the iTunes folder is completely gone - if it has, great: if it hasn't, right-click on the folder and press Shift and Delete - it will say "Are you sure you want to completely remove the folder "iTunes"? Click on "Yes".
    Reboot!
    Then go to the iTunes download page and voila! It should download iTunes without any problems... well it did for me.... Good luck!

  • HT1222 I got an error message on the last Itunes update about a dll file not installing. I would need to reinstall the enire Itunes program. If I do that, will I lose my library?

    Received error message during last itunes upgrade. Said dll file did not install. I should reinstall whole itunes program. If I figure out how to do that, will I lose my library?

    Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.
