DLNA "play to"(WMPDMC.exe) slideshow on "Full Screen"

Hello,
I'm using DLNA function of windows 8.1 for presenting some photo and movie files to my TV.
I think OS(windows 8.1) automatically compress image file into small one for fast viewing.
Anyone has an idea to fix this settings?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Firstly, please update your video card driver.
And then follow this article to change your screen resolution to check the result:

  • How do I play slideshow in full screen

When I play the slideshow, there will always be black bars at the top and bottom of the screen - even with ken burns. Is it possible to play it in full screen - no black bars - on my macbook air 13"?

But even this way, a small border will always remain.
It does not help to enter full screen mode before playing the slideshow. The slideshow is always in full screen mode by default.
That is the closest I can get on  a 17" MBP, cropped with an aspect ratio of 16:10

  • IPhoto 6 slideshows not full screen!!!

First of all, as this problem has not changed since iPhoto 5.02 on OS X 10.3.9, let me provide you with some background...
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1425902&#1425902
Now, let me detail the problem again. I have a Mac Mini 1.25 Ghz with 512 MB RAM connected to a 20" Apple Cinema Display (aluminum) running at its native resolution of 1680 x 1050. Prior to iPhoto version 5.02, if I watched a slideshow, either by clicking the "Play" button on an album or creating a full fledged slideshow, the pictures in the slideshow would be fit to the width of my display and then cropped on the top and bottom so that the picture would fill all the real-estate on my display. I believe this may have only been the case when viewing with Ken Burns effect enabled... in any case it was exactly the way that I wanted it to work. After updating to iPhoto 5.02 and on every subsequent version of iPhoto all the way unitl iPhoto 6, this is not the behavior. Now, black bars are inserted on the left and right of my display and the photo is displayed in a box in the center that fills the height of the display and is approximately 4:3 in aspect ratio. No combination of settings for the automatic ken burns effect, scale pictures to fit screen, or slideshow format settings have yeided a result that fills the entire screen... most make it look worse. The only thing that seems to help is lowering the resolution of the display from the native of 1680 x 1050 to 1024 x 768 or something similar. Obviously this deteriorates the quality of the images.
Apparently, this was a design decision made by apple...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301667
First of all, it makes no sense to me that iPhoto should decide my computer isn't capable of displaying full screen slideshows when it was perfectly capable of doing so prior to iPhoto 5.02. Secondly, the proposed work around is ridiculous. The amount of time and effort needed to produce a QT movie for each slideshow you want to show full screen greatly reduces the functionality of the otherwise awesome slideshow features... not to mention it greatly reduces the quality of the slideshow.
I am posting to again make it known that this is still an issue for many users in the latest version of iPhoto. People still want it fixed. And many people with affected computers might not even know that iPhoto is supposed to display full screen slideshows if you want them.
Now, I apologize in advance for the bold I'm about to use, but this is the most important part of this post and I hope someone at Apple reads it...
Make an option in iPhoto to enable full screen slideshows even on computers that the program deems incapable!
That way users can accept your automatic determination of this capability, or they can judge for themselves whether or not full screen slideshows are worth a "potential" degradation in performance. You can even worn them once when they enable the option that it may cause decreased performance on their hardware. That way they'll know you tried.
Ok, there... now that that is out of my system, does anyone else have any ideas or would like to add something?

I take a lot of pictures with 2-3 digital cameras (as a hobby). I use my old 400MHz G4 TiBook as my picture bank when I travel. I got very frustrated when I realized that the screen resolution is set to 800*600 when you do a slideshow in iPhoto, and there is no way to change that.
This is especially bothering when the pictures are taken with my DSLR, but looking at pictures from a 5 MB camera on a 0,5 MB resolution screen is a drag in any case.
I think that I have found a solution to this, however. It would be nice if someone else could try to verify my results. Very simple:
    - Close iPhoto and get a plist editor (I used PlistEdit Pro which I found in Macupdate).
    - With the editor, open the iPhoto preferences file: /Users/Your_Userame/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist
    - There's a property called SlideshowFixedScreenRes close close to the end of the file. Change it's value from NO to YES and save the plist file. Relaunch iPhoto.
This worked very well with the TiBook. Your mileage may vary, though. If you find that it works for you, please let the others know.
If this preference property really is the legitimate place for setting this, it makes me wonder why Apple is so arrogant that they don't give us a switch somewhere for this.
NOTE: If you try this the risk is yours. I don't think that the risk in this case is very severe however - if you throw the iPhoto plist file in the Trash it will be rebuilt when you relaunch iPhoto.
    Best regards, Jukka

  • Need help to play a DV file in full screen mode w/o losing resolution

I just finished a 20 minute film using iMovie, and in order to share it, I created a Quicktime DV File using the Full Quality mode. However, when I play the obtained Quicktime file in full screen, the images become blurry and the titles are unreadable, so I am forced to sticking to the standard size (which is relatively small).
I need to project this video THIS SAME WEEK on a screen in front of a large crowd and the largest screen size for Quicktime to avoid pixelation is very small (1/6 of my screen).
Is there any way in which I can get a larger resolution DV file than the one iMovie creates? How can I share this with the audience w/o having to project it from the original iMovie file?
HELP PLEASE...!!!!! I am desperate, so any urgent advice will be greatly appreciated. And please note I am a novice at iMovie (first time I used it). Any help to increase the resolution quality of my DV file will be EXTREMELY HELPFUL.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

Any help to increase the resolution quality of my DV file will be EXTREMELY HELPFUL.
For faster editing iMovie 08 & 09 uses single-field processing. This means every other horizontal line of the video is thrown out, which reduces the sharpness of the footage. iMovie 06 uses all of the image, I think you will find it looks better.
iMovie 06 and iDVD 09 is a terrific combination.

  • Full screen preview and slideshow are blurry / fuzzy

    Hi folks-
I just upgraded from CS2 to CS4, in part to improve efficiency of selecting photos - I wanted the zoom and loupe features. Unfortunately a very basic function has been compromised and I'm hoping there's a solution: In both full-screen preview and slideshow the full-screen image is notably blurry. This is a problem for two reasons: 1. I can't judge pictures accurately by just flipping through them in full-screen mode (without zooming to 100% to see if they are well-focused). 2. I can't use Slideshow for, well, slideshows. I've had to resort to keeping another app (like Windows Picture Viewer) open just to be able to quickly flip through and evaluate images full-screen or to show slideshows.
I've tried setting all the options related to image quality (they mostly have to do with caching thumbnails and speeding 100% viewing); I've tried purging the cache files. Nothing helps.
    Any ideas?  Thanks!

It seems to me that there is something wrong with it.
I am trying Bridge CS4 as a viewer for my JPEG files.
I also noticed that the previews were fuzzy. I activated the high-quality previews as well as the option to generate the previews at screen size.
Here's what I noticed. I went to check out a specific photo that is quite sharp with a number of straight lines, angles, details, where it's very easy to detect a lack of sharpness. That photo immediately looked fuzzy to me, which didn't jive with my memory of it. I quickly opened it in other viewers, which displayed it as intended with all the expected sharpness.
So, I went through the settings to see where the problem could be and I immediately thought of checking the box to get software previews instead of hardware, restarted the app, purged the cache, tried again. There my photo had recovered its sharpness, or at least most of it. I thought I found the culprit, but not quite.
I went to browse other photos and found one in particular with a lot of fine detail (hair) and that photo also didn't display all the sharpness that it should have (I was still using software mode). The difference was very slight and to make sure of it it required A/B comparison between Bridge and PS, but there was a difference.
Now I tried the opposite. I went back to hardware rendering mode, restarted, purged the cache, tried again. That second photo looked alright in preview, but the previous photo looked fuzzy again.
So, it doesn't work the same way for each photo...
What's the main difference between the first photo, obviously fuzzy in hardware mode, and the second one, alright in hardware mode but slightly fuzzier in software? The ratio. The first one is a vertical photo, the second one is horizontal (close to square).
I quickly checked other vertical photos and they showed the same behavior...
Now staying in hardware mode, I noticed something else. When I preview the vertical photo and click on it, or double click, it quickly jumps, switching between 2 versions of the photo: the one displayed originally (fuzzy) and another one, with a very slightly different size, which is sharp. During that manipulation it also briefly displays "100%" at the top of the screen. It doesn't stick when you click and immediately switches back, so it looks like a glitch.
Now in software mode, I tried the same, this time you can click once on the photo (which is originally displayed *almost* sharp). When you click once, it displays "100%" but also displays a very slightly smaller version that is clearly fuzzy. Clicking again goes back to the other, less fuzzy one, but doesn't display "100%" this time.
Doing the same test on horizontal photos shows no change that I can see.
So, it seems to me that in the preview mode, Bridge has trouble displaying some photos (vertical ones?) in their actual resolution (100%)
and since there is a slight resizing going on, it brings fuzziness. This doesn't explain the very slight fuzziness seen on horizontal photos in software mode.
Now I'll mention, for those still awake, that I saw no fuzziness on the same vertical photos when I go to Review Mode with *hardware* rendering. Photos there are sharp. Now if I go to the review mode with software rendering enabled, vertical photos are not 100% sharp (akin to the small difference I mentioned earlier while in software mode), while they are sharper in preview.
To sum up, it seems that the only configuration that gives me consistently 100% sharp (=as they were meant to be after post-processing) photos no matter what their orientation, is when I stay in hardware rendering mode and use the Review Mode, instead of preview.
This all really smells like a bug.
For info, I am using Windows 7 and an ATI HD4850 card, and this only about processed JPEG files, not RAW files.
Perhaps the preview is really meant as a quick preview and not a tool to view final photos at 100% accuracy...

  • IMovie 09 Full Screen mode plays the wrong project.

I just brought home a new MacBook Pro 15" 2.8 GHz with 4 GB & 500 GB HD, I have existing iMovie 09 projects on an external hard drive. When I click on a project, select for it to play full screen and it plays an entirely different project that's not even in the same folder.
I use iMovie all the time for it's quick editing but very frustrated with accessing files & sluggish playback on various machines. Now it won't play back the correct project in full screen mode.
I have chased the hardware side of my issues with recent purchases giving me: 215 GB available on my internal hard drive, 811 GB available on my external G-Tech Raid that holds the video project and events and I'm using firewire 800. All updates are done, etc.
    UGH! Any ideas??

Full screen mode is like the cover-flow view in iTunes. If you move your cursor to the bottom of the screen, you will see the cover flow and can select the movie you want.

  • No full screen slideshow on 30" Apple display?

I'm not having any luck in showing a slideshow in full screen on my monitor. It's an Apple 30" display.
No matter what settings I choose the shots are always cropped. Almost like when you show 4:3 content on a widescreen TV.
The 'Widescreen" preset results in the image floating in the middle of the display with a lot of black surrounding it. Too much of the screen is not in use.
    Anyone else having this issue?
    Thanks

Try first setting Standard Previews to the same or larger than the Resolution of the 30" Screen in Catalog Settings. Then have LR render Standard Previews for the intended images. Then try running the slideshow.
    That may help.

  • Flickering Screen and Lack of Full Screen Support, Flickering Screen and Lack of Full Screen Support

    Hi,
I ran into a few things related to using my Bootcamp MacBook Pro 15” 2011 that I purchased 2012Mar. Having issues on the Mac side, with an external monitor. I bought a ViewSonic VX2753mh LED monitor, hooked it up to my laptop, started in Mac OS and seemed to be going good, able to get 1080p, 1920x1080 res on the monitor even though the 2011 MacBook doesn’t have that resolution on the actual attached screen. BUT, the Viewsonic started to intermittently turn off and back on, in addition when I tried to play a movie (or even a slideshow) in full screen (not mirrored), so that I could surf and watch the movie or slideshow, the full screen version of either would be placed back on my laptop screen while the external monitor had a generic grey with vertical lines screensaver pop up, or vica versa. If I played the movie in a small screen it was ok. Have heard a lot of issues with “flickering”. As for the application situation, maybe that’s something I don’t know about yet since I’m new to Mac. Can I play something like slideshow or a movie in full screen on an external monitor while I surf or type on the laptop monitor? Any ideas on either issue?
    Thanks in advance !!!

Ok, so I solved my full screen problem with VLC, both slideshows of my pics running full screen on external moniter while I work on laptop, and with movies, still getting my external monitor flickering on and off, other threads stop around May, is there anything new ?

  • IPad Air display refresh rate for full screen movies?

What exactly happens if I play a movie on the iPad full screen with a rate of e.g. 24p, 25p or 50i?
The stated maximal refresh rate is 60Hz.
Will this rate be reduced when playing movies?
Or will frames be dropped / interpolated if the frame rate and the refresh rate don't match?
Or will the movie be sped up / slowed down?
When using the HDMI adapter, I can see that it always outputs 60p, regardless of the movie frame rate. But maybe this is different on the internal panel.
    Thanks for any insight!

Should it happen again double tap the screen with three fingers. Then go to settings> general> accessibility> zoom> off.

  • Full Screen Problem - Dual Monitors - Hulu Desktop

I am using Hulu Desktop with dual monitors. I keep Hulu on full screen on monitor #2. I use monitor #1 for computer use, etc.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to look at an app in full screen mode on monitor #1 and keep my Hulu full screen in monitor #2 at the same time. So if Hulu is playing and I open up a full screen Mail.app...the hulu screen (mon. 2) just shows that grey background.
Apple NEEDS to add a way to make the #2 monitor immune to the spaces functionality. That or make a way so that an app can stay on top of ALL SCREENS not just user-created ones.
I have seen people suggest the, "Right click the app in the dock and choose all screens" but that ONLY works for user-created desktops. It won't make the app be full screen over Mail, iCal, Address book, etc when they make their own spaces window.
    Help! :-)\

    That's annoying, isn't it?
It's why I quit using iTunes in full screen.
I play my movies in VLC and "maximize" the window so I can keep working on the other display. I don't knwo of any other way aorund it.

  • Full Screen background trouble

    Hi,
I'm trying to publish a Captivate 4 project to EXE with the Full Screen setting on.
In the skin editor border tab, a very light grey is selected as background colour, but the customer wanted me to change this: It should now use an html file instead. The customer told me to put this in the adobe/captivate4/publish/templates folder and replace the standard.html there.
No matter what I do though (replace, not replace), I always simply get a black background. Does anybody know how to solve this? I mean, it should never be black anyway, as a grey is selected...
    Happy to try anything!
    Julia

Hi Julia and welcome to our community
EXE and HTML are sort of mutually exclusive. I'm not sure if changing anything in the Publish/Templates folder would change a thing in the EXE output.
As for why you are getting a black background, that's a bit of a mystery. You say that you have selected a light grey for the HTML background color? It's been my experience that whatever you select for the "HTML Background Color" is also used for the EXE background if you are using the full screen option and the project is smaller than the full screen.
Perhaps try choosing a really wild color like Hot Pink. Then publish and see if the background now changes from Black to Hot Pink. Sometimes you find that a radical change like that will finally work where it failed otherwise. Then again, it could be a wasted effort. But certainly won't hurt to try.
And as I was typing this, it occurred to me that perhaps you could be thinking of something different when you say "Background Color". What I'm referring to is the color that surrounds the Captivate movie if it doesn't fill the screen, NOT the background of the Captivate movie itself. Like the image below:
