DLSW and Tunnel Interfaces problem

We have a pair of routers with tunnel interfaces and DLSW between them.
Some times the tunnel interface goes down thus loosing service trough DLSW.
Is there any problem reported between DLSW and this kind of tunel interfaces ?

Hi,
i assume you are using dlsw tcp peers.
In general dlsw does not know over what infrastucture the connection really runs. Dlsw gives data to tcp and tcp is responsible for doing the actual transmission.
I dont know of any problems with dlsw and tunnel interfaces in general.
Some more information might help to understand the problem.
What type of tunnel are you using? GRE?
What version of ios are you running?
Do you use additional encapsulation overhead like ipsec ect?
Does tcp on this router use path mtu discovery?
thanks...
Matthias

  • FW800 external HD and FW400 interface --- problems?

has anyone had problems using a firewire based interface (like the presonus firebox, what im using) and an external HD using firewire 800 (g-tech's g-drive Q is what I'm using)?
This just happened. Turning on the HD causes tiny clicks/pops from the interface output, only briefly. the cloff falls out of sync for a sec. any app playing back video or audio suddenly wont play audio anymore (nothing comes out the speakers). Both are connected to the firewire ports on the back of my G5.
turning on my FW800 external HD effectively kills my interface. i have to restart the computer or turn the interface off and on again to get it going.
why is this happening? this is hugely frustrating. I only intended to use the external as backup for files and projects, but if I'd wanted to use it to stream samples I'd be mighty screwed...
...what gives? I'll probobly call presonus tomorrow and ask about it, but I thought I'd try here and see if anyone experienced similar issues. can I not use fw400 and fw800 simultaneously? is it because they share a common bus, and then suddenly theres a conflict?
    thanks in advance
    chris

I can only relate to you my good experience using a FF400 on the 400 port and a LaCie HD on the 800. Never a glitch, despite my macbook's architecture sporting only one firewire buss !
In theory, you should be able to use both at at once.
ps. i can even use the FF400 on bus power, with the 800 HD churning away quite happily.

  • Firewire and audio interface problem, please help

    Hi all
I'm not being lazy, i've spent hours trawling through forums and google trying to find a fix but cant so hope someone here can help.
Basically, I've been using my Macbook for Logic Studio with an audio interface (Motu 8pre). This was connected via firewire 400 to firewire 400 and worked absolutely fine no problems.
I've recently got a Mac Pro. I've installed Logic onto it, my Motu 8pre driver etc etc and noticed that the firewire socket on the Mac Pro is different. I've been on the Motu website and quite clearly they say that a firewire 400 to firewire 800 cable will work fine with modern macs (this can be seen in more detail at bottom right of this web page http://www.motu.com/products/motuaudio/8pre
I've bought one of these cables and plugged them into my interface and Mac Pro respectively, switched on the device as i have been doing for the past year with my Macbook, but the MacPro just wont seem to recognise it.
How can I get this interface to work with my Mac Pro?
I've tried connecting to different ports on back and front, restarting machine but it just wont work.
Am I missing something simple here?
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance
    Adam

Ok its official I AM a muppet.
Went onto motu site again and noticed they released an update driver for snow leopard. Downloaded it and it works fine.
    Fixed.
    Thanks

  • Skype and Audio Interface problems

I am using skype with a usb audio interface for muiltple microphones.  The problem is skype will only recongnize one microphone port, instead of all of the microphone ports in the interface.  Is there a work around for this?

Not that I'm aware of.  You'd have to treat the situation as if you didn't have multiple inputs on that device.  1.  Joining inputs or separating them using an analog/physical toggle/patch.2,  Joining inputs or separating them using additional software like Virtual audio cable though this can add unwanted delays.

  • Bandwith monitoring on physical interface or on tunnel interface ?

    Hi All,
I would like to ask you a question .i am using solarwind monitoring tool for bandwith monioring.
I would like to know which interface we should use for monitoring ? Physical interface or tunnel interface .
I am using GRE tunnel in each of my remote locations.
and in some locations when i compare my physical interface graph and tunnel interface graph ,there is always hugh difference ,tunnel interface always has high utilization.  but for some sides physical interface and tunnel interface graph are same .
please do let me know which is the best for monitoing .

    Hi ,
Genrally it can be posible due bandwidth configuration on tunnel interface but ther is no harm in monitoring both the interface,it is genarlly a benfit only for you as if tunnel goes down it will raise an alarm also for the same.
For exact monitoring for tunnel interface i would suggest you to check  - VPNTTG (VPN Tunnel Traffic Grapher).
Advantage of VPNTTG over other SNMP based monitoring softwares is following: Other (commonly used) softwares are working with static OID numbers, i.e. whenever tunnel disconnects and reconnects, it gets assigned a new OID number. This means that the historical data, gathered on the connection, is lost each time. However, VPNTTG works with VPN peers IP address and it stores for each VPN tunnel historical monitoring data into the Database.
Hope that helps out your query !!
If helpful do rate the valauble post.

  • WLC2504 - Dynamic interface problem

    Hi,
I have problem with my WLC2504. My WLC is  connected through two ports (1 and 2 of four) to my distro switch, where  I have dot1q trunks configured. WLC is configured with Management interface  (IP address 192.168.255.9/24), over which my  LAPs are correctly joined.  However, once I'm trying to add additional Dynamic WLC interface, which  has VLAN TAG 10 and which I'd like to associate with my WLANS, my WLC  stop responding through GUI and SSH, but pings on the management and dynamic interface IP addresses are sucesfull. Just as a note, dynamic AP management is not enabled on mentioned dynamic interface. In a case when I enable dynamic AP management on the dynamic interface (activated also on management interface), GUI and SSH work, but I can not associated WLAN to the dynamic interface, only to the management one
    Thanks for soon answer
    palo73

The management interface is the default interface for in-band management of the controller and connectivity to enterprise services such as AAA servers. The management interface is also used for communications between the controller and APs. The management Interface is the only consistently "pingable" in-band interface IP address on the controller. The management interface will act like an AP manager interface by default.
The dynamic interface with the “Dynamic AP Management” option enabled on it is used as the tunnel source for packets from the controller to the AP, and as the destination for CAPWAP packets from the AP to the controller. The dynamic interfaces for AP manager must have a unique IP address. Typically, this is configured on the same subnet as the management interface, but this is not necessarily a requirement. In the case of the Cisco 2500 Series Wireless Controller, a single dynamic AP manager can support any number of APs. However, as a best practice, it is suggested to have 4 separate dynamic AP manager interfaces and associate them to the 4 Gigabit interfaces. By default, the management interface acts like an AP-manager interface as well and it is associated to one Gigabit interface. As a result, if you are using the management interface, you need to create only 3 more dynamic AP manager interfaces and associate them to the remaining 3 Gigabit interfaces.
The virtual interface is used to support mobility management, DHCP relay, and embedded layer 3 security like guest web authentication and VPN termination. The virtual interface must be configured with an unassigned and unused gateway IP address. A typical virtual interface is 1.1.1.1. The virtual interface address is not pingable and should not exist in any routing table in your network.
Dynamic interfaces are created by users and are designed to be analogous to VLANs for wireless LAN client device. The Cisco 2500 Series Wireless Controller will support up to 16 dynamic interfaces. Dynamic interfaces must be configured on a unique IP network and VLAN. Each dynamic interface acts as a DHCP relay for wireless clients associated to wireless LANs (WLANs) mapped to the interface. A WLAN associates an SSID to an interface and is configured with security, QoS, radio policies, and other wireless network parameters. There can be up to 16 WLANs configured per controller.
Guidelines for Deploying the Cisco 2500 Wireless Controller
Ethernet ports on Cisco 2500 Series Wireless Controllers do not work as Switch ports (that is, 2 machines directly connected to these ports will not be able to communicate with each other). You should not connect servers like DHCP, TFTP etc. on these ports and expect Wireless Clients and APs to receive an IP address from this DHCP server.
Ethernet ports on the Cisco 2500 Series Wireless Controller should only be used to connect/uplink to an infrastructure network configured as a data interface (management interface and dynamic interfaces) or an AP-managers interface.
If multiple Ethernet ports on a Cisco 2500 Series Wireless Controller are uplinked to an infrastructure switch, you should make sure data interfaces (management or dynamic interfaces) or AP-managers interfaces are configured for these uplinked physical ports. Physical Ethernet ports which are used as an uplink to an infra switch should not be left un-configured. This may result in unexpected behaviors.
Multicast unicast is not a supported configuration on Cisco 2500 Series Wireless Controller. As a result, HREAP APs are not able to receive multicast traffic because HREAP APs only work with multicast unicast.

  • DMVPN + IPSec protected VRFs; IPSec SAs established only on one tunnel interface

    Hello folks!
I have a setup between two Cisco ISR routers, running IOS 15.1(4)M3. I have tried to establish DMVPN connectivity with two VRFs (ie. two tunnel interfaces per router) between the routers and it mostly seems to be working as I expected. But... IPSec SAs seem to get tied to only one of the tunnel interface, not two (one per direction) per tunnel interface as they should. There's no MPLS backbone in between the routers, only "global VRF", routed IP network.
Command "show crypto ipsec sa" or indirectly a missing OSPF neighborhood between the routers verifies the erroneuous situation. Occasionally, after an "interface tunnel[ 0 or 1] shut, no shut" or "clear crypto sa" command I seem to get it up and running, two SAs per tunnel interface, but if I reboot either one of the routers or just clear the IPSec SA, they most likely will appear under either one of two tunnel interfaces. So, what should I change to instruct the router setup SAs correctly, two SAs (one per direction) per tunnel interface?
I'll enclose appropriate parts of the configurations and output of command "show crypto ipsec sa".

I think I figured it out, for anyone who might stumble across this post in the future. It looks like you need to add the shared keyword to the tunnel protection command. ie...
    interface tunnel 0
tunnel protection ipsec profile MyProfile shared
    end
I should note that one of the first things I tried was to created a separate IPSec profile for each unique tunnel interface. It ended up not fixing the problem and I had to go with the solution above.

  • Disappearing tunnel keepalives with tunnel interface in vrf

    Dear all
I have an annoying problem with a gre tunnel using keepalives and the tunnel interface on the PE residing in a vrf.
The background for my setup is an ethernet WAN link to our customer where the interface doesn't go down when the link fails.
Therefore I want to use an gre tunnel with keepalive in order to use static routes.
The tunnel setup is as follows:
    1. PE, 6509, Sup720, IOS 12.2(18)SXF7
    interface FastEthernet8/13
    ip address xx.yy.zz.241 255.255.255.252
    speed 10
    duplex full
    no mop enabled
    interface Tunnel813
    ip vrf forwarding CUSTOMER
    ip address 10.0.0.101 255.255.255.252
    keepalive 5 3
    tunnel source xx.yy.zz.241
    tunnel destination xx.yy.zz.242
    end
    2. CE, 1803, IOS 12.4(15)T8
    interface FastEthernet0
    bandwidth 5000
    ip address xx.yy.zz.242 255.255.255.252
    speed 10
    full-duplex
    interface Tunnel0
    ip address 10.0.0.102 255.255.255.252
    keepalive 5 3
    tunnel source xx.yy.zz.242
    tunnel destination xx.yy.zz.241
The problem is PE sends and receives keepalives and brings up the tunnel. CE on the other hand sends but doesn't receive keepalives.
As far as I have learned from former discussions the problem comes from tunnel and physical interface belonging to different routing instances. If I put the tunnel interface on PE into the global routing instance all the keepalives reach their destinations as expected.
I read about a solution involving "tunnel vrf" on th etunnel configuration. This command is not present in my IOS version but AFAIK it is only necessary for having the underlying physical interface in a vrf as well.
Furthermore I read about "mls mpls tunnel-recir" but I am not sure whether this might solve the issue here. And equally important: Can I safely turn on this feature on a running system with quite a lot of vrf customers without any trouble?
Any hint and/or advise is greatly appreciated here.
    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Grischa

    Wow, this is old, but...
While they may or may not be officially supported, GRE tunnels do work with vrf's if you both put the tunnel interface in the VRF AND the physical interface the tunnel runs over, AND use the tunnel vrf command.  Then everything is in the same routing table and it works.  For example:
    PE:
    vrf definition vrf1
    rd 1:1
    address-family ipv4
      route-target export 1:1
      route-target import 1:1
    exit-address-family
    interface Ethernet0/0
    vrf forwarding vrf1
    ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
    interface Tunnel1
    vrf forwarding vrf1
    ip address 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.252
    keepalive 1 3
    tunnel source Ethernet0/0
    tunnel destination 192.168.1.2
    tunnel vrf vrf1
    router bgp 12345
    bgp log-neighbor-changes
    address-family vpnv4
! Provider stuff - i.e., route reflector for MPLS network
    exit-address-family
    address-family ipv4 vrf vrf1
      neighbor 1.1.1.2 remote-as 64512
      neighbor 1.1.1.2 activate
      neighbor 1.1.1.2 default-originate
    exit-address-family
    CE:
    interface Ethernet0/0
    ip address 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0
    interface Tunnel1
    ip address 1.1.1.2 255.255.255.252
    keepalive 1 3
    tunnel source Ethernet0/0
    tunnel destination 192.168.1.1
    router bgp 64512
    bgp log-neighbor-changes
    ! network statements perhaps
    ! redistribute static perhaps
    neighbor 1.1.1.1 remote-as 12345
    neighbor 1.1.1.1 update-source Tunnel1
    neighbor 1.1.1.1 soft-reconfiguration inbound
Of course you don't need to run BGP, but you can.

  • The difference between IEEE802.1Q Native VLAN sub-interface and Physical interface?

    Hello
I think the following topologies are supported for Cisco Routers
And the Physical interface also can be using as Native VLAN interface right?
    Topology 1.
     R1 Gi0.1 ------ IEEE802.1Q Tunneling  L2SW ------ Gi0 R2
    R1 - configuration
    interface GigabitEthernet0.1
     encapsulation dot1Q 1 native
     ip address 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0
    Topology 2.
    R1 Gi0 ------ IEEE802.1Q Tunneling L2SW ------ Gi0 R2
    interface GigabitEthernet0
    ip address 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0
And is it ok to use the physical interface and sub-interface with dynamic routing such as EIGRP or OSPF etc?
    R1 Gi 0 ---- Point to Multipoint EIGRP or OSPF ---- Gi0 R2 / R3
Gi 0.20--- Point to Point EIGRP or OSPF --- Gi0.10 R4  (same VLAN-ID)
    R1 - configuration
    interface GigabitEthernet0
     ip address 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0
    interface GigabitEthernet8.20
     encapsulation dot1Q 20
     ip address 20.0.0.1 255.255.255.0
Any information is very appreciated. but if there is any CCO document please let me know.
Thank you very much and regards,
    Masanobu Hiyoshi

    Hello,
    The diagram is helpful.
If I am getting you correctly, you have three routers interconnected by a switch, and you want them to operate in a hub-and-spoke fashion even though the switch is capable of allowing direct communication between any of these routers.
Your first scenario is concerned with all three routers being in the same VLAN, and by using neighbor commands, you force these routers to establish targeted EIGRP adjacencies R1-R2 and R1-R3, with R1 being the hub.
Your second scenario is concerned with creating one VLAN per spoke, having subinterfaces for each spoke VLAN created on R1 as the router, and putting each spoke just in its own VLAN.
Your scenarios are not really concerned with the concept of native VLAN or the way it is configured, to be honest. Whether you use a native VLAN in either of your scenarios, or whether you configure the native VLAN on a subinterface or on the physical interface makes no difference. There is simply no difference to using or not using a native VLAN in any of your scenarios, and there is no difference to the native VLAN configuration being placed on a physical interface or a subinterface. It's as plain as that. Both your scenarios will work.
My personal opinion, though, is that forcing routers on a broadcast multi-access segment such as Ethernet to operate in a hub-and-spoke fashion is somewhat artificial. Why would you want to do this? Both scenarios have drawbacks: in the first scenario, you need to add a neighbor statement for each spoke to the hub, limiting the scalability. In the second scenario, you waste VLANs and IP subnets if there are many spokes. The primary question is, though: why would you want an Ethernet segment to operate as a hub-and-spoke network? Sure, these things are done but they are motivated by specific needs so I would like to know if you have any.
Even if you needed your network to operate in a hub-and-spoke mode, there are more efficient means of achieving that: Cisco switches support so-called protected ports that are prevented from talking to each other. By configuring the switch ports to spokes as protected, you will prevent the spokes from seeing each other. You would not need, then, to configure static neighbors in EIGRP, or to waste VLANs for individual spokes. What you would need to do would be deactivating the split horizon on R1's interface, and using the ip next-hop-self eigrp command on R1 to tweak the next hop information to point to R1 so that the spokes do not attempt to route packets to each other directly but rather route them over R1.
I do not believe I have seen any special CCO documents regarding the use of physical interfaces or subinterfaces for native VLAN or for your scenarios.
    Best regards,
    Peter

  • Does 2 firewire audio and video interface can work together  on FCP ?

    hello,
My audio interface is a TC Electronic Konnekt 24D
my video interface is a Canopus ADVC 110
my hard drives are plugged in firewire too
and I use Final Cut Pro 5.0.4
So, the konnekt is recognized by FCP only when the Canopus is not plugged. And even then, the audio sometimes drop out and sometimes causes the app to crash, so that I have to trash the preferences
When I plug the Canopus, the Konnekt 24D is recognised by OS X but not FCP
I want to use the voice over tool with the konnekt 24D, so what should I do ?
Does 2 firewire audio and video interface can work together ?
If so, maybe I only have a driver problem from TC Electronic.
But if not, I have to change this interface. Let me know if only RME, MOTU, Presonus and Edirol work, as it is said on apple's webpage for hardware compatibility
    thanks
    eMac G4 1,25 Ghz Mac OS X (10.3.9)
    eMac G4 1,25 Ghz 1 Go RAM DDR   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

The 1082 does show up as a possible input when I open
    the VO tool.
Ok. So an audio interface can be plugged to FCP without crashing the app. Because of the Konnekt driver problem, I wasn't shure of this.
I use my Aja box for export & external monitoring.
All my audio sources run back into the Tascam and I
use the analog mixer in the 1082 to monitor different
    sources.
When I view external video, the audio follows it to
    keep sync.
that's exactly what I want with other I/O interfaces. I'd like to monitor video with the canopus ADVC 110, and monitor audio with the Konnekt 24D (or another interface if this one is not compatible)
I also imput dailies with a deck or a camera (DV or HDV) but that's not the point here.
I want to imput audio with the Konnekt 24D because of its audio quality. Not audio sync to video dailies. But voice over, in sync with FCP video playback (for me, tha ADVC 110)

  • PI 7.1 Sender Interface and Receiver Interface  gets interchanged

    Hi All,
    I m facing a strange problem in PI 7.1
For many of my scenarios, the Sender Interface, sender namespace and receiver Interface, receiver namespace  information gets interchanged and displayed incorrectly.
    But sometimes its working fine.
When we analysed the Log messages, found that, after xml validation step, the sender and reciever interface gets interchanged.
    Any idea why this happens?
    How to rectify this error?

    Aarthi,
Please check your message interfaces once again. Sender is outbound and Receiver is inbound.
Also please check your receiver determination.

  • Interface Problems in Yosemite

Problem shows up when using software other than the native OS X apps.
If I attempt to close a window behind the app that has focus by clicking the red x part of the semaphore buttons (top left on every window) it will not work unless I change focus to that app by clicking the bar at the top.
As an example if I'm using Byword to view a document while composing an email in Airmail once I finished and move on to viewing, say a receipt, in Airmail and want to make a copy of that receipt and place it on the desktop. I'm done with Byword and it is covering the desktop so why not close it and get it out of the way. I move the mouse pointer over the red X part of the semaphore buttons and click, nothing happens. I have to bring Byword into focus by clicking the title bar, then click the red x to finally close the window. If the app below Airmail happened to be Safari the red X works properly.
On my Mac Mini using Yosemite this works properly for all apps.
This is only a slight problem but I have been having the odd quirky interface problems for the past while and I'm worried that something has gone south and these may end up adding together to make a very large problem.  Initially I had problems with PopClip which seemed to be screwing around with the interface buttons in Rapidweaver 6. I removed the app to clear that problem using AppDelete.
While trying to diagnose this problem I have removed all the auto login apps that I can and rebooted several times to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • "The interface name given does not specify a valid and existing interface."

    Hi nice guys,
I'm trying to use the XNET APIs to set Master task to Slave with LIN protocol. As I have no Experience before, there's something problem like the Interface of the NI USB-8476S can't be detected. The prompted windows presents following infomation:
Error -1074384758 occurred at XNET Create Session (Signal Output Single-point).vi:1
    Possible reason(s):
NI-XNET: (Hex 0xBFF6308A) The interface name given does not specify a valid and existing interface. Solution: Use a valid and existing interface. These can be obtained using MAX, XNET system properties, or the LabVIEW XNET Interface IO name. If you are using CompactRIO, refer to the topic "Getting Started with CompactRIO" in the NI-XNET Hardware and Software Help.
but in the NI MAX, the device is detected as "LIN0". Even the interface input control in the NI examples shows the error. But if I take the CAN Frame API, it works well.
Does anyone have some idea. I'm so preciate. Tanks in advance.
    best regards
    Melo

    Melonetern,
When do you receive these errors?  Does this happen when you try to run your code or our examples?  On top of that, does this error happen immediately or does it take a while?  Is this happening in LabVIEW or another interface?
If you could give us the versions of software you are using as well as the XNET driver versions that would be very helpful.

  • Interface Problems: DBA = Data Pump = Export Jobs (Job Name)

    Hello Folks,
I need your help in troubleshooting an SQL Developer interface problem.
DBA => Data Pump => Export Jobs (Job Name) => Data Pump Export => Job Scheduler (Step):
-a- Job Name and Job Description fields are not visible. Well the fields are there but each of them just 1/2 character wide. I can't see/enter anything in the fields.
    Import Wizard:
-b- Job Name field under the first "Type" wizard's step looks exactly the same as in Export case.
-c- Can't see any row under "Chose Input Files" section (I see just ~1 mm of the first row and everything else is hidden).
    My env:
    -- Version 3.2.20.09, Build MAIN-09.87
    -- Windows 7 (64 bit)
It could be related to the fact that I did change fonts in the Preferences. As I don't know what is the default font I can't change it back to the default and test (let me know what is the default and I will test it).
    PS
-- Have tried to disable all extensions but DBA Navigator (11.2.0.09.87). It didn't help
-- There are no any messages in the console if I run SQL Dev under cmd "sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.exe
    Any help is appreciated,
    Yury

    Hi Yury,
a-I see those 1/2 character size text boxes (in my case on frequency) when the pop up dialog is too small - do they go away when you make it bigger?
b- On IMPORT the name it starts with IMPORT - if it is the half character issue have you tried making the dialog bigger?
c-I think it is size again but my dialog at minimum size is already big enough.
Have you tried a smaller font - or making the dialogs bigger (resizing from the corners).
I have a 3.2.1 version where I have not changed the fonts from Tools->Preferences->CodeEditor->Fonts appears to be:
    Font Name: DialogInput
    Font size: 12
