DM Export Base Member Selection -- Need to Use a Filter

Hi Experts,
Posting a follow-up on this one.  Does anyone know how to run the Data Manager Export package when producing a (relatively) large data set?
The challenge is that when running an Export, you'd want to chose all base-level members in some dimensions.  For example, you might select all Cost Centers in your Costing dimension and in the Data Manager member selector screen, you could simply filter for something like CALC=N or BAS(ALL CostCenters), etc.  ...However, once you click "OK", BPC will return to the Data Manager dialogue and tell you that you have chosen too many members for the dialogue and that you should use a Filter, or your member selections will be truncated.
Also sometimes, you can see in the box the message " [FILTER:  MYFILTER] as this other user noted before (also unanswered question):
[BPC Export data with filter]
Thanks for any suggestions.
Garrett

Shot in the dark but worth noting...
Do you have more than 1024 base entities? A common oversight is that your grid setting are set to display only 1024 rows (default) and you have to click on the down arrow in the HFM toolbar to view the next page of rows/entities. You can also increase the # of rows to display in a grid so as to display all rows on the same page.

  • [Base] member selection for Entities is incomplete ?

    When I choose the [Base] member selection for Entity, the list is incomplete. I was told this was a bug and it would not be fixed until we move from HFM 9.3.1 to Fusion 11. Other than manually creating a grid with all base entities then maintaining that list going forward, does anyone have any suggestions on how to manage this ? We use this grid to lock/unlock all base entities.

  • Filter a list and unique selection will be used to filter another list

    Good afternoon,
    I need help using a label (CRP-MFR), to filter a list that I can display in a scorecard.
    The list will have all my data from the worksheet, first column being my unique id.
    I would like to detect the label and use that label to filter my list to a sublist that will be displayed
    in a scorecard. It seems simple but I'm having issues.
    Please help!
    Thanks
    The basic flow is Markets -> unique items ->
    I already filter the markets to select a unique market that gets populated into a label
    I wish to use that label to go to a products list to select the unique products for that market

    Hi,
    Can you send me the source file.i can check it once.you can view my id in business card.
    Thanks,
    Ramana.

    I am not getting parent member from this funcation .
    Pls let me know any other way for this ?

    Hi,
    EVPRO for getting the value for PARENTH1 of any member should work. Please check whether you have included all the parameters of this function inside double quotes.
    EVPRO("APPNAME","MEMBER_ID","PROPERTY")
    Hope this helps,

  • Need to restrict some hierarchy in RTP member selection

    Hi There,
    We are using on rule which conatins RTP variable.As per our requirement while selecting that RTP varaibale member through member selection window can I restrict the dimension hierarchy to only level 0 members as there are many levels in this dimension and we only want level zero members list to select from them.
    I have tried with @levmbrs(dim,0) in Limits section but without success.
    Thanks

    Thanks Alp for your prompt reply.
    I tried this option but nothing happened.Do you think by using the limit in variables(RTP) the pop up window while launching the rules will contain only the level 0 members as I described in the limit section ?
    For example: The dimension hiearrchical structure is as below and I need to show only Entity11,Entity12,Entity21 in the member selection window .Currently it is showing the below structure in the pop up while clicking the member selection icon.
    Entity
    -->Entity1
    ------>Entity11
    ------>Entity12
    -->Entity2
    ------>Entity21

  • Using data values for member selection

    Hello everybody:
    I know there are functions to operate with members, strings, member names, ... so that you are able to convert from a string to a member (@MEMBER) and conversely.
    But, is there any way to use a member value to select another member?. For example, if in the account dimension I have a member "parent" with value '100'. Could I save in the member '100' a value, using the '100' saved value in "parent" to select that member. So if its value is '200', I should save in member '200'.
    Thank you
    Regards,
    Javier

    Hello CM:
    I apologize for the description :(.
    There are three indicators: "InitDate", "EndDate" and "Parent". There is another dimension with three members: "1", "2" and "3" with these data:
    "Parent" "InitDate" "EndDate"
    "1" "Missing" 20120101 20120301
    "2" "Missing" 20120201 20120228
    "3" 1 "Missing" "Missing"
    My intention is that "InitDate" and "EndDate" for "3" were values taken from member "1" based on "Parent" value for "3".
    So my question was related to create this formula:
    "ID" (
    IF ("Parent" <> #Missing)
    "InitDate" (current member) = "InitDate"->@??????("Parent");
    "EndDate" (current member) = "EndDate"->@??????("Parent");
    ENDIF;
    That is, being able to recover value "1" in "Parent"->"3" to create cross-dimension "InitDate"->"1" and "EndDAte"->"1".
    The problem is that I do not know how to recover a cell value (data) and use it for creating a member name. I think that functions like @NAME, @MEMBER, @ALIAS ... are based on using atributtes, strings, @CURRMBR functions and others, but not for values stored in that members.
    I hope this helps you to understand better what I mean.
    Thank you
    Regards,
    Javier

    I need help please to find the correcte download so i can my wii-fii work as soon as possible (because my wife is making me crazy, she can't go on Facebook!!!! )
    Thank's for your help,
    Mike

    Use AirPort Utility 5.6 which contains the features you need. It is compatible with Lion as well as Mountain Lion, however, the installer app will refuse to install it on Mountain Lion.
    This dilemma is easily solved though. You simply need to extract the app from the installer package using a package extractor like Pacifist.
    Download Pacifist here: http://www.charlessoft.com/
    Download AirPort Utility 5.6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
    If you happen to have an archived copy of the AU 5.6 app somewhere, such as a Time Machine backup or equivalent, you can simply restore it or drag the app to your Mountain Lion system's Utilities folder. It will run without complaint. It is only the package installer that is the problem.
    Mountain Lion will not allow you to delete its existing version of AirPort Utility. Just ignore it. It and the older version (which will bear the unique name "AirPort Utility 5.6") can peacefully coexist.
    Note: For those with Leopard or Snow Leopard systems you need AirPort Utility 5.6.1 (this is confusing - a later AirPort Utility version for an earlier OS X version - but it is correct).
    Download AirPort Utility 5.6.1 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1536

    hi,
    You need to use FM 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY' for this purpose. For using this FM, you need to create a field catlog which will contain all information about the coloumns you want to display for example their position, their text etc.
    Below there is a small demo for achiving this.

  • "Export audio of selected range markers to separate files" icon is grayed out in Markers window. Tracks show start times but no end times, yet duration is calculated.

    I have one big wav file of segued tracks as a mixdown and inserted CD markers where I want marked tracks. "Export audio of selected range markers to separate files" icon is grayed out in Markers window. Tracks show start times but no end times, yet duration is calculated. Why can't I export these marked portions as separate files?

    the markers durations need to be configured, there is an easy way to do this using your existing markers.  click the start time of marker 2, this should change to edit mode to type in a new number, just copy the numbers cmd/ctrl+c. then click the end time of marker 1 and paste, cmd/ctrl+v.  now repeat for the rest of the markers, and on the last one enter a value for the end time or click and drag on the duration to manually extend it. once all the markers have a duration, the button should be active to export.

  • Error Base member can not be parent of in PARENTH 1

    hi Team,
    I have an issue  when I am loading hierarchy data from BI  to BPC.  I have two hierarchies loading from BI to BPC for Cost Center Dimension. However, I do see an error msg saying
    "Base member 'CC3000ABU'  can not be parent of 'CC3000000620000040' in PARENTH'1'.
    when explored further, it is observed that I see this issue only for the text nodes. I have even checked the file in the application server which is updated using open hub services from ocostcenter infoobject from BI and this file seems to be okay. I see the text nodes also added as new member ids in the file.  Just figuring out what could be the reason for this error.
    Any inputs will be of great help.
    Thanks
    Vj

    Hi Experts,
    I Also got the same issue. So could you please tell me " what i need to set the data back to ZERO" i didnt got this point.

  • Does Member Selection (SmartView) == Retrieve (Excel AddIn)

    I just purchased the "Look Smarter.." book and it starts off by referring to a 'Retrieve' function in the Excel Add-In that pulls dimensions, member and associated data-values from an Essbase db (in my case Sample:Basic). I however have the SmartView Add-In running on Excel 2007, and there isn't any 'Retrieve' function that I can see.. The closest I can find is something called "Member Selection" that can be used to pull in dimension/members names. However this does not seem to pull in any actual data for these dimensions/members. I have already loaded the Sample:Basic db with data, so it's in there somewhere. I just need to know how to pull it all into Excel so that I can continue following along with Mr. Roske!
    Appreciate any input.
    thanks,
    Akshay

    Cameron,
    I followed your steps EXACTLY, but it only displays the Year and Market dimensions.. no 133980 data value! Just to confirm that I have the correct sequence, I did the following in order:
    1. loaded data.txt into Demo:Basic in EAS
    2. ran an 'Execute Calculation' of the 'default' calc script in EAS.
    3. opened a fresh Excel workbook and connected to Demo:Basic and activated it
    4. clicked on Refresh.
    The only other thing that happens is that a little window with drag-and-drop for 'Product' , 'Account' etc. shows up on the sheet. I tried to do a drag-and-drop of these extra dimensions, followed by another Refresh, but still no data value(s) appear.
    The funny thing is everything work perfectly when I use the Excel-Addin instead of SmartView! In fact, when I use Excel-Addin, the 133980 shows up even if I don't explicitly run the default calc script. So, I have a feeling that my problem is localized to SmartView.
    thanks,
    Akshay

  • Restrict member access in POV member selection

    Hello all,
    I wonder if there is a way to restrict access to certain members in Smart View's POV manager (member selection tool)? For example if a user is assigned a filter in Essbase that restricts his access to an Entity "A", he should not be able to see/select that entity in the member selection in Smart View.
    I did some research and browsed the guides but could not find anything related to this special requirement.
    Highly appreciate any thoughts.
    Thanks for your help and time.

    I have implemented MetaRead as the "standard" for users with read only access at several clients, as most people prefer to see only what they have access to. A good example is European users, don't need to see Asian countries in their geography rollup and vice versa.
    It also makes training easier as you don't have to deal with the questions, why can I see Germany/Thailand if I can't see any data.
    I suggested FR as an option as once the user has chosen their POV for the first time, it will follow them whenever they open a subsequent report, so they don't have to worry about choosing it.
    Although you do lose some ad-hoc abilities with FR - that you can mitigate through the use of expansion on rows/columns. Also the POV is per data source, so if you wished to migrate to new cube for a new financial year, then the POV would need to be chosen again.
    The other advantage with FR is you can distribute the same report and have many users, with differing access see different data through their POV and access rights. With Smart View, users would need to chose their POV every time they opened a newly distributed report.
    Hope this helps - let me know if you have further questions/thoughts.
    Cheers, Iain

  • Member selection xml is malformed, can't initialise dialog

    Hi,
    when I try to use a valid web form in smartview it works, until I try to change the default form variable to refresh data at which point I get; - Member selection xml is malformed, can't initialise dialog
    11.1.2.1.00 (Build 271) is my version.
    Anyone know a fix?
    thanks,
    Robert.

    Hi again.
    On further analysis this only manifests in our Entity dimension, the other dimensions' form variables function as they should.
    Is your question about substitution variables aimed at the underlying data content of the dimension, rather than the naming of the form variable, are you indicating that there are certain restrictive characters that if they appear in the data can cause this problem??
    If so is " all I need to look for, or are there any other characters (& : )? that can cause problems??
    thanks again,
    Robert.

  • How do I export v-card formatted files for use with either Numbers or Excel?

    How do I export v-card formatted files for use with either Numbers or Excel?

    Did you open Automator and just look around?
    Actions are listed in the left pane.
    You drag them into the workflow on the right in the order you need to process the items that you want.
    If this is a on-off requirement, just make a Workflow. If you plan to use it often, make it an Application.
    If you want to select the contacts you want to export, use a get Selected action. You'd then select the contacts in Contacts App before running the workflow.
    I'm not on a Mac to take screenshots, so you'll have to look at Automator's help or google for more info.
