DM for Mac device updates for Pearl 8130

hello!
i discovered the DM for mac today when searching for ways to update the device software on my pearl 8130. i downloaded it and have had no trouble backing up or synching, but am supremely frustrated with the device update process.
i am currently running 4.3.0.97 and the core apps and system software are in the 4.5 range. when i select these updates and attempt to run them -- regardless of whether i choose to include system or third-party app backups in the process -- everything's cool until the DM says it's "Loading OS..."
my pearl reboots itself every time i get to this point, which causes a "DM cannot connect to your device. Reconnect and try again" message from the DM. i've taken out the battery, rebooted the DM -- nothing is working.
does anyone know why this auto-reboot is happening and what i can do about it? alternatively, does anyone know how i can download system updates WITHOUT DM, but still using a mac?

I had the same problem and gave up. I did my updates using the Windows XP version of DM using Bootcamp on the mac to launch XP. I tried XP via Parallels first but it seemed to have issues with XP seeing the 8130 via USB. I didn't bother troubleshooting and went straight to Bootcamp and running the MAC as an XP only machine.
Hopefully with everything updated I can use the Mac DM alone but I'm having problems and starting to regret I didn't stick with Missing Sync until MAC DM is more mature.

there is no Adobe Acrobat reader.
but you can read PDFs if they are attached to an email.
if you want more, you can look on dataviz'side with DocumentsToGo.

Videostreams for Pearl 8130

One of the free downloads available on the BB page (link below) is for an app called Videostreams.

The download site says specifically that it's good to go with a Pearl, but it won't work for me. Downloads fine, but when I run it, I get to the frontpage and then it sits and sits and sits... Has anyone else had any better luck with this app? It looks like it'd be cool, if only it would run.

Backlight option for Pearl 8130

Hi all, I'm having an issue with the backlight for my Pearl. Even though I go under into Options and turn off the automatic backlight dimmer setting, the light still only works under a low light situation. I tried shutting it off and removing the battery as suggested to me by someone already, but it's still doing what it wants to do. Am I looking at having to remove the software for the phone and try reinstalling it? Thanks!

Been browsing and haven't had much luck finding anything relating to supported filetypes used by my Pearl. Does anyone know of which audio and video types are viewable on the Pearl? Thanks much.

When you say hit and miss do you mean sometimes you print a whole document with no problems, or do you mean each document has problems? This is from HP's website for your printer:
Your sig says 10.6.7 but your message says 10.7. So if it's really Lion, this printer isn't officially supported. Elsewhere on HP's site it says updated drivers will be available on your Mac via Software Update. Have you run that recently?

Be sure to install the latest version of Safari (version 5.1.7) which is available via Software Update (in the Apple menu) if you have not already installed it. This update will automatically disable older versions of Flash when new versions are available, and will instruct you on how to install the latest version on your system. This should help keep your system safe from any vulnerabilities in Flash.
Note that this is only useful if you use Safari, though other browsers have their own update mechanisms you should research and enable or configure to your liking.

TS3716 iPod classic does not appear in iTunes for Mac since updating to 11.0.

Just had the very same problem. iPod Classic shows up on my desktop but not in iTunes (11.0.1). I tried restarting iPod while connected as suggested elsewhere. Didn't work. What did seem to work however was, while the iPod is connected (and on the desktop) restart iTunes. Once it restarted it was there and synching. I also, before restart, made sure that auto-synching was set up in iTunes preferences (under devices).
Try this. May work for you as well.

Vk2mh it sounds like the download was not complete or corrupted. Where are you downloading the update from? Have you tried downloading again?

Which Server profile in Device update for PR 1.1?

Okay, according to the Nokia website the PR 1.1 update is available for the product code of my Nokia N8 (unlocked, grey, The Netherlands, bought from Nokia). I have no PC so I have to update OTA. However.... In Device updates it keeps on saying 'No updates available'. I find that strange, so I was wondering if there is something wrong with my Server profiles.
I check Server profiles and see 't-mobile' (my carrier) and 'Not configured'. I click 'Start configuration'... and I get 'connection error'.
I'm at a loss. Do I need to configure the server profile 't-mobile', even though I bought my phone unlocked? Or do I need to make a new server profile, and in that case: which?

T-Mobile did the same on their custom firmware for N97 and now I find the same on N8
no server profile   in the end on my N97 i got so fed up i changed the product code and got rid off all the T-Mobile nonsense blote-wear and it got me the Server profile.
I Don't want to hack product code on my N8    in Nokia's online FAQ's is says how to set the server profile but it doesn't seem to work for N8.
I wish Nokia would stop allowing networks to have custom versions. (let them brand by a theme only)
Anyone know the Server Profile settings for N8   ?

But when I try to do these update, it always fails and I can see in the Event logs, this message :

And for each individual device package I'm trying to update, I receive this error message :

And the Event log show me this (for example, for the Cat3560 package) :

But when I do Device Update again (even if I Stop and Restart the Deamon Manager), I still see the same device packages list.
This problem is very annoying.

Device update notworking for Nokia 5800, please he...

I have Nokia 5800 with software version v30.0.011 type RM-356. I can see that the latest device update available is 31.0.101 but however when I try to udpate I just get a msg that v30.0.011 is the latest update. I live in India and my friend who has Nokia 5800 has already updated to 31.0.101. So this is not a location based problem but somthing else. I have already updated my pc suite everything else works fine. What could be the reason for this problem and how can I update to v31.0.101? thanks in advance!

I just got some info about my own question.
If anyone else need answer for the same.. here it is
I found that I have 0575586: 5800 India CV B v1 where 0575586 is the product code. Product code can be found beneath the battery. With the product code you can find what firmware upgrades are available for your phone.

Is bootcamp simmilar for every mac devices ?

I have 7 different mac devices in my shop and every day i recieve a lot of other mac devices from customers to install apps and windows on them. I want to how can i download bootcams for different devices so i shouldnt have to download it for every device every single time.
Pls give links to download boot camp for different devices seperatly.

There are different Boot Camp versions for each Mac, and you can see all of them in this site > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634
Note that new Macs like the Mid 2013 MacBook Air use a special Boot Camp support version that can only be downloaded through Boot Camp Assistant in one of these MacBooks
