DM Service book issue

Ok not sure if this came about b/c of the upgrade or not so...
When I go to advanced options>service books.  I am seeing the following for the 6 email addresses I have going to my 8830.
[email protected][CICAL]
[email protected][CMIME]
What are these?  What do they do?  Are they needed?  Could this be what is causing the problems with my ical sync so that I don't have the actual "names" of my ical calendars showing up on the BB?
Thoughts?
Thx

Hi and welcome to the forums!
First you need to have a data plan. You probably have one,
Carriers sometimes forget to ACTIVATE the plan you paid for.
Try this:
From the main screen go to OPTIONS- ADVANCED OPTIONS- HOST ROUTING TABLES
click the trackball to enter, press the menu key and select REGISTER NOW..
(Congratulations you are now qualified to be a Data associate, because that was all he was going to do)
This will do two things:
It registers the phone with the wireless network. Updates the device details onto the rim relay and sends down carrier specific icons or applicants. (Icons and applicants being the operative terms in the sentence for you) It will also send service books to your device.
Wait until you get the verification email,
Then:
Pull the battery while the device is ON, replace after a minute,Let the device reboot 1-3 min.
See if you have your browser, and see if you can get to the net.
If it works, you are setup with your data plan. And you can proceed with the Email setup wizard.
If this doesn't  work, politely and calmly see the associate that said that your Browser was there.
Please remember to make small talk with him while you stand on his chest, and he activates your  data plan,
Let him up when he's shown you  the internet works. I'm sure at this point he will gladly help you with  email setup
If you need more information, please ask!
If not, please resolve the post using the options by the kudos’ star.
Just check the post that had your answer!
Thanks

  • "More" issue- service book information not found

When I try to download a file, the "more request" doesn't work- it says" More request cannot be completed.  Service Book information not found."

You need to reset your email account again on your device & send the service books from the same interface on your device. Wait for the 30mins & register now yourself from the handset itself by following the below steps-click on Option Application-click on Advanced - Click on Host Routing table - Click menu key - select Register now option & Click, Follow these steps twice. Now go into your email application & click on it. Then press the menu key & scroll down, you can see Reconcile now option, Click on it twice !
Now try to open that PDF again !

    Hey Jackonberry,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the post.
After checking the PIN number you provided, I have found the issue:  Currently there is no active BlackBerry® data plan on that BlackBerry® .  Contact your network service provider to resolve the issue.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Internet Browser Not Working despite re-sending service book...

    Can someone please help?
The web browser is not working on my Pearl.
I am with O2 and have been in the O2 shop for an hour today and on the phone to various people at customer services and still no joy on my Blackberry problem.
The internet browser is not working. My e-mail has been set up and i can recieve mails only, but not send them. The error code: YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY BROWSER CONFIG SERVICE BOOK ENTRIES, or when I try and send an e-mail, NO MESSAGE SERVICE CONFIG appears, despite re-sending service book codes, plus also turning my phone off, and taking the battery off several times whilst in the O2 shop and then at home when on the phone to customer services.
The people at my network are stumped, and so am I!
    Please, any solutions?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Even though two steps are redundant, I suggest the following steps (in order, waiting for success of each before proceeding to the next):
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then it sadly remains up to your carrier to resolve as they are the ones who deliver your services to you...
Good luck and let us know!

  • Missing Desktop CICAL service book

    I have a Canadian Rogers Torch 9180, software 7.0.0.254, platfirn 5.0.0.451, available KB 167173.
The phone is activated on our cloud Blackberry Administration Service with Exchange 365 and for some reason the CICAL service book is missing on the device so any calendar invites are blank.  I have followed BB article KB10594 and on the BAS tried resending the service books.  On the device properties it does say that the last transaction was delievered and nothing I can see has failed.  Obviously since the CICAL book is missing I am unable to delete and undelete it as per the KB article.
We only have one default IT policy and others are on it without any issues.  And yes I have double checked that nothing is disabled in the PIM sync in the policy.  We do not have any Groups setup, everyone is under the default group.
Not using any other calendar apps on the phone.  In the BAS it does say that the Wireless calendar is Disabled but there's no way I can see in the BAS to enable the calendar.
I've searched the forums and google and found nothing that has helped so I'm hoping someone has a suggestion.  I have not tried removing the device from BAS and reattaching it as I've had bad luck doing this with other devices in that I can't get them back on BAS after it's been removed.

    try this
Wireless calendar synchronization appears to be disabled on the BlackBerry smartphone
    also
Clear the BlackBerry smartphone Calendar and then turn on calendar wireless synchronization from the BlackBerry smartphone by completing the following steps:
On the BlackBerry smartphone, open the Calendar.
Open the Calendar menu and select Options.
    Type the following command:
    rset
Choose Yes when prompted by the following question: "This will erase your Desktop calendar, and reload it from your server. Continue?"
    Under Calendars, select Desktop.
Verify that Number of Entries is zero.
    Change Wireless Synchronization to Yes.
    Exit and save changes.

Any BB can be used on any carrier that runs the same radio frequencies that the BB is capable of (and I've no idea if your's are such). But, to bring a BB onto a carrier network that they did not sell to you, there are several hurdles to cross:
    1) The carrier must say "yes" to the fact...they own their network and have every right to say what devices will be allowed to connect to it. If they say "no", then that's the end of it.
    2) You must be sure that your BB is properly unlocked from it's originally manufactured-for carrier...see this helpful thread for details:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/General-BlackBerry-Functions-and/Unlocking-your-BlackBerry-Gu...
    3) You must get all of your voice level services functioning on the carrier, before you even try anything about data
    4) You must subscribe, from the carrier, to an adequate data plan to enable the BB-proprietary services you desire
5a) If the carrier directly supports your specific model BB, then you can proceed with registering the BB onto their network, generating the proper Service Book delivery to your BB, and proceeding to function.
5b) But, if the carrier does not directly support your specific model number of BB, then the challenges are much greater as most carrier systems will not deliver, to the BB, the necessary service books to enable the BB-proprietary data services, even if you do subscribe to them.
So, depending on all of that, your BB may or may not ever fully function on that carrier network. It can be quite tricky to accomplish, especially if 5b applies. So take a look at all of that and decide how you wish to proceed. Most folks wind up just buying a new BB if 5b applies.
Good luck and let us know!

  • App World Error - Blackberry Identity & Missing Service Book

    Carrier: Sun Cellular Philippines
Model info and OS version :
    Blackberry 8520
    v5.0.0.1036 (Bundle 1682, Platform 5.2.0.104)
    File Free     111788476 bytes
Did a battery pull fix your issue?
    No
    Apps installed and their version:
    Advance OS and LED v12.1.2
    Dropbox v1.0.55
    Blackberry App World v3.1.2.32
    Blackberry Application Center v5.0.0
    Blackberry Maps v5.0.0
    Blackberry News v1.0.1.7
    Blackberry Protect v1.0.10.25
    DocsToGo v2.0003.030
    Facebook v3.0.0.15
    YM v2.5.63
    WLM v2.5.63
    QUESTIONS:
My App World cannot download any app. It shows an error 40820. As per reading the KB article, it may be because of the Service Book of App World which is missing at SERVICE BOOKS. Since there are no instruction on how to retrieve the said service book, I restorted to using this RIM SOFTWARE for SuN CELLULAR.
    http://swdownloads.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=5BF73BC6C6E6775D472621264309A...
I thought it will just verify the integrity of all the apps on my BB8520. To my surprise, it reloaded the whole OS.
After the reloading of the OS, I experienced a problem when downloading again from the App World. It searches for Identity. So I looked at the Option>Applications>Add-On. To my surprise there are no "Blackberry Identity" installed. Even by checking the Option>Blackberry ID, I can't seem to find the Blackberry ID.
I tried to find any installable version of this "Blackberry Identity". What I found OTA seems to be uninstallable. It only shows an error when installing.
The Specific error is "907 COD error".
I also encounter this error today when I tried to re-install some RIM applications such as BBM. In an unknown reason, after soft reboot, the BBM was uninstalled in my phone.
    To sum it up:
    1. How to repair the Blackberry Identity so that I can possibly use the App World and restore my Apps?
    2. How to restore the Service Book of Blackberry App World?
    3. How to fix 907 COD Error even though the link that I'm checking is from the RIM site [which I think should not be buggy]?
    *Note:
Ihave done and read all of the Possible KB articles posted here for the said errors.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Oh how I do wish you'd provided a complete list of all the KB's you have already tried...for you see, that's the only way to be sure if what I'm about to tell you is redundant or not! But, alas, lacking the information, I choose to risk it.
KB29613 The error "BlackBerry Identity installation failed. Please try again later. (80003)" is displayed within BlackBerry App World
KB29300 "A BlackBerry Identity update is needed" message appears when launching BlackBerry App World 3.1
Perhaps the steps in those KB's will be useful.
As for the 907, sometimes that is caused by an on board IT Policy preventing the installation of certain things. Is your BB part of a BES environment? If so, you will need to talk to your BES admins as they control, well, everything. If not, then it is possible that there is a latent IT Policy on your BB...how did you acquire it, please? Brand new? Used?
Good luck and let us know!!

  • Not Service Book in 9630

All, I need your experities. I brought unlocked 9630 from Sprint for my ATT SIM. When I inserted my ATT SIM card. I am able text and make call, however when I try to browse. I got error says " Your Device doe not Currently have any browser Connfiguration Service Book entries. Please contact you service provider to enable the browser on your device" By the way, I have blackberry data plan and I try use my friend's unlocked blackberry. It allowes me to browser internet. please advice. Many Thanks.

    Hi TheSommelier,
You should only have this service book on your device if you are or were previously on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
As a workaround you could also backup and security wipe the device then attempt restoring the address book once again:
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02318
If it still fails there may be an issue with the backup.
    Cheers,

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
What you seem to be asking is for a method to use services for which you don't pay. Each carrier provides services to their users via their network...those services are not free. If your carrier does not offer the services, then they simply are not available to you.
    Good luck!

  • Service book

I live in ethiopia I am using a BB 8100 and my opera mini Works just fine my problem is this when I (while using the opera mini browser) click the link to download google maps the default blackberry browser automatically starts up and I then get the message saying "you device dose not currently have any browser configuration service book entries" that I get the message in the blackberry why their browser doesn't work for me does any one know if its possible to install google maps from my opera mini can I get service book

    Hello,
Wow...challenging sentence to read without punctuation. But I think I understand your issue. Here's the deal.
You have a generic data plan from your carrier. This is as opposed to a BB-specific data plan, which would enable the native BB Browser. Without that data plan, your BB cannot receive the Service Books that would enable the BB Browser. See this FAQ for helpful information:
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_do_I_need_a_Data_Plan_for%3F
The "fix" is to get a BB-level data plan from your carrier...if they offer such and if they support your specific model BB. If they don't offer BB data plans, then you are stuck with a BB with hobbled functionality. If they offer BB data plans but don't support your BB model, you may still have challenges as the Service Books are BB Model specific.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Service book for MMS

    Hi there,
I bought an BB 8100 on spain (Vodafone) but I use it on Portugal (TMN). I need to use MMS so I enabled the MMS service on operator.  Always I try to send a MMS I get the message that I don't have service book configurated. Where I can get the aproprieted service book file to install?
    Thanks.
    JCampos

Interesting. Then I think you have a credible argument to raise with your carrier...make them explain why, for this function (which, btw, is not a BB-specific function...rather, it is a carrier-specific function), they require you to have a data plan.
    I wish you good luck!

  • Service book are missing for BBM

hey i have a BB 9380, most of the service book to use BBM is missing on this phone, therefore i am unable to use this for BBM.
can i enter these service book manually or connect to a BB site and download it to my phone?

    Hello!!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support...and to ensure that you are subscribed to a data plan from them that is adequate to enable the services you desire. BBM is a BB-proprietary service, requiring subscription to an adequate data plan.
    Good luck!

  • Problems to download Blackberry Browser with Services Book

Greetings, I have problems to download the Blackberry Browser. I wiped my blackberry in 3 times and it can not install the Blackberry browser. My blackberry only recognizes Internet Browser and I have many issues to download some links by example Facebook's links because it shows Disabled Form or links can only download using my blackberry. I sent more than 5 times Services Books to my blackberry but Blackberry Browser is not installed. I use desktop manager of Blackberry and also it's not installing the Blackberry Browser. I would like , how can I download the Blackberry Browser to my blackberry without Desktop Manager or Services Books ? I appreciate your help.

another option you may have is resettofactory
    start- run- type:
    cmd
    press enter
    type:
    cd c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
    press enter
    type:
    loader.exe /resettofactory
    press enter
    please perform a backup first
test your browser before you restore your backup, and to be ssafe I would do a selective restore
open DTM, go to backup/restore- advanced
    top left click on file-open
find your backup, it will load on the left side
you current working BB will be on the right side
transfer ONLY the absolute important databases from the left to the right(address, cal, phone logs, messages, sms, tasks, memo)... dont do any that you dont know and dont do any OPTIONS ones
