Dm4-2191us wireless card replacement compatibility

Hey y'all,
I got an HP DM4-2191us from Stables the other day. I've just arrived after a long 8 hour flight to my home here in **bleep**atoga, American Samoa, and am typing this message using a friend's laptop at a Krispy Kreme. Normally the internet's pretty fast here. But anyways my wireless ain't connectin on my DM4 so I took it over to our local repair shop a few blocks over in Suifaga to see if the boys there could get it workin again. To make a long story longer, they've just called me on my cell phone to tell me that they can't get the old wireless working. My friend Fabien's going to say to you what they said to him when i handed him my phone after they called me. Bye :-*
Hello. I am the computer expert. I understand there is like a specific model of wireless device compadible with the HP DM4-2191us. My girlfriend say she think's that the cozmic radiashon is affecting her notebook while in the aeroplane. My girlfriend is looking for a wireless card that is compadible. I have looking inside her bios and saw that there are only these cards compadible which we can find on the island. My girlfriend has a photoshoot on monday and will have to make the pictures format on her computer and then send out photos to her clientelle using her wireless. There is not enough time for my girlfriend to sending her laptop off to switzerland to fix. im am sorry, my first language is Tokelauan and I do not have a proper language driver for my notebook.
This ones i found the names for in her bios:
PPD-AR5B95-H E017105B - "Atheros AR5B95 Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g/n Controller (Atheros Communications Inc.)"
PPD-AR5B195-H E017105B - "Atheros AR5B95 Wireless LAN 802.11 a/b/g/n Controller (Atheros Communications Inc.)"
TX2RTL8188CEB8 RTL8188CE - "Subsys_81811OEC (Realtek Semiconductor Corp.)"
PPD-AR5B225 AR9485WB-EG "Wireless Network Adapter (Atheros Communications Inc.)"
QDS-BECM1051 - "WLAN Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n"
She has already inside: TX2-RTL8191SE RTL8188CE (Realtek Semiconductor Corp.)
Is this infos i found for Atheros AR5B95 and 4313 Broadcom correct? Can You please tell me and my girlfriend if this ones will work?
---UPDATE---

  • G62 Notebook wireless card replacement?

    Hi all,
I've got a HP G62-18sa notebook with the standard RT3090 wifi+bluetooth combo card in and I was wondering if I can replace it at all? I've been looking at this card http://is.gd/nNjsK8
Reason I'm asking is the RT3090 card has very, VERY bad support for Linux and I'm looking to replace it. If the above card won't fit can anyone suggest ones that might fit and work under Linux?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
There are 2 compatible wifi/bth cards for your laptop, the Ralink and a Broadcom 4313. I would suggest to disable the whitelist (list of the compatible components) in the BIOS and after that you may use the Intel 6230 combo card (any wireless card you want) without problems..
    http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/20223-Remove-whitelist-check-add-ID-s-to-break-hardware-res...
I have disabled the whitelist myself and upgraded the wireless card to an Intel Ultimate-N 6300 450Mbps. It's not the best solution but works. I also use linux and Intel wireless cards have the best support, like HP printers..

  • Pavilion g6-1d18dx Wireless card replacement?

Are the ones listed in the manual the only options for a replacement or are there other compatible cards out there. Specifically, would a better card from a brand on the list work?
Also, if those are the only options, which one is the best card to choose? I believe my system came with the broadcom adapter and I have a lot more trouble with it than some of my friends at school do with their wireless connectivity.

    Hi Drawinfinity,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion g6-1d18dx Notebook  and wireless that is compatible for your Notebook.  The listing in the manual are what works for your processor and your HDD.

  • Can I put an Intel Advanced-N 6230 wireless card into my Pavilion dm4-3050us laptop?

I have been having problems with the wireless connection on my dm4-3050us laptop for several months now and am hoping to replace the wireless card in order to solve these issues.
Will I be able to put an Intel Advanced-N 6230 adapter into my machine?
If so, is there anything special I will need to do in order to make it work as it normally would? (i.e. special adapters to make it fit into the machine, driver updates, etc.)

You can use one of these:
    Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 WLAN module 631956-001
    Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 WLAN module 572511-001
It HAS to be an HP branded card with the HP number. It is not good enough if it is another card with the same wifi chip. Only HP branded and numbered cards will allow the system to POST.
    Here is the Service Manual:
    Manual
See page 41. You may find that you need 3 antenna leads and the laptop only has 2. It is very hard to string another antenna lead but it can be done.
Here is the Advanced-N card on eBay which appears to have only 2 leads:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-OEM-HP-Pavilion-DV6-6000-WIFI-Wireless-Board-631956-001-/36077457082...
You will need to load the correct Intel driver and I would just have it downloaded to the laptop before you do the swap:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-104707-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
Link to the Windows 7 driver above. Good luck. This should be pretty much plug and play for you but post back if you need more help.

  • Replacing Wireless Card in T440p

I bought my T440p about a year ago. Been working fine and no real problems except when I purchased it I got the Intel(R) Wireless-N 7260 wireless card. Upon getting the laptop I realized it couldn't see/connect to 5ghz wifi networks and that I should have got a dual band card instead. I wanted to know a couple of things
    1) is it possible to upgrade/replace my current wireless card with a new one?
    2) if it is possible, is it something I can do on my own or would I need to send it in somewhere (I've never done anything like that before but I'm pretty confident in my abilities. That said if it is too technical I don't mind getting a pro to do it.
    3) again if it is possible which card would be a good replacement?
    Thanks for any help!

  • S12 Wireless card compatibility

I noticed that S12 (nvidia) rejects other Wireless Mini PCIe cards
with error message "card not authorized".
Is there a list of cards that are accepted?
My card has a suspected defective contact. I expect that I must replace it soon.
Lenovo, please provide us with a BIOS update that is less restrictive.
    Thank you.

    Hi fr0ggie,
This should explain why it doesn't work.  Lenovo matches the card to the antennae in the computer in order to comply with FCC regulations regarding interference.
Any replacement wireless card has to have an FRU part number and be branded for a Lenovo.  A generic card won't work, even though it might be the same exact card.
If you suspect a bad contact, remove the card and gently clean the contacts with a pencil eraser.

  • S10-3T - Replace Wireless Card in minipci-e slot

    Hi
I  removed the Atheros wireless card supplied with the S10-3T and replace it with an Intel one I have, and I got a message saying "unauthorised card please remove"... Also, the card I have is a minipci-e, so it will have to go into the slot saved for the 3g (could that be an issue?)
Do you guys know of compatible cards?
    Regards
    KK

The error indicates, installed card is not compatible. However, when you install Intel wireless card in place of Atheros wireless card it should be fix properly and in a same way as Atheros wireless card.
Kindly make sure you have updated BIOS as well, which is available on Lenovo website.
    http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/uk/en/DriversDownloads/drivers_show_3299.html
The compatible wireless card is Broadcom BCM4313 and Intel Centrino Wireless-N1000

  • Replacing Wireless Card In Deskrtop

    Hello,
I need to replace my wireless card in my desktop. It is the orginial one that came with the computer about 5 years ago, it is an internal, skinny one with an adapter. I believe it is Lite-On Wireless USB 802.11 a/b. It doesn't have many bars and the driver is 2011 even though it says its the lastest driver. Any suggestions? I would like to get something without the adapter thing thats attached to it. Thanks

  • Wireless card could not connect after mother replacement

    Hi,
I just replace my lenovo T430i motherboard, everything working except Wireless card could not connect to wirelesss network. I take to the shop they replace new wireless card, but it still appear the same problem. Is there anyone having the same problem.
    Best Regards,
    Bunheng Mom

    Hello bunheng,
If you could please boot into BIOS at start-up.  On the main page this should show you your system-unit serial number, and the system board serial number. Could you check and make sure both of these fields are occupied.
    One step at a time.
    Hope this helps,

  • I want to replace my wireless card with a 5 ghz compatible card.. i have a hp pavillion g7-1220so ?

Anyone know which card i can buy who will work?

    Hi:
There are no 5.0 GHz wireless cards that will work in your model.
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:
    http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02834058/c02834058.pdf
Supported wireless cards with HP part numbers are listed in chapter 3 starting on page 26.
The Realtek and Intel cards listed as dual band cards are not correct. The realtek 8188 card is a single band card, and the Intel 6230 has the wrong part number and no one knows what the right one is.  If you order the Intel card you get a single band Intel 1000 card or some other brand single band card.
You can only install one of the cards listed in the manual and it must have the HP part number on it or it will not work.

  • S230u Thinkpad Twist Intel Wireless Card Compatability?

Is there an official list as to what Wireless Cards will work with the Lenovo Twist.  I know when they were sold you had two options of cards, and had to decide if you wanted the Intel which supported Miricast or the Broadcom version which supported 5Ghz. Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230 & Bluetooth 4.0 (2x2 BGN & BT 4)Thinkpad a/b/g/n Wireless & Bluetooth 4.0 (2x2 ABGN & BT 4.0) Now there are Intel Cards out that support all of the above such as the Advanced-N 6235, but I can find no information if this or any other Intel cards will work with the Thinkpad Twist.  Any info would be appreciated.  Thanks.

There was an interesting post on Amazon about wireless cards for the Twist.  I'm going to try to upgrade from my Broadcom to an "Intel WiFi part 2230BNHMW chip with "FRU P/N 04W3765" written right on the face of the card" on my 3-year-old Twist, based on the poster's info: "Some Twists come with WiDi support and some don't. Mine didn't. It had the newest dual band (2.4 and 5 g) WiFi card that doesn't support WiDi because it isn't made by Intel. Lenovo did this all to save a couple of bucks. So I brought a WiFi card that did support WiDi and Lenovo had whitelisted the card and I had to return it to get a single band, "Lenovo certified", Intel chip. It would have been nice if Lenovo stated that it didn't have the correct WiFi card for WiDi. You will need the Intel WiFi part 2230BNHMW chip with "FRU P/N 04W3765" written right on the face of the card - the 04W3765 is the Lenovo part number. This is the only chip that will get past Lenovo whitelisting that will make WiDi work. Using the new Intel Wifi card had no impact the Twist's WiFi performance at my house. When I installed the WiFi chip, I didn't have to update any drivers. The computer automatically did it upon booting. The chip was very easy to install and if you go to the Lenovo Twist support website the manual shows you exactly how to do it. However, I did have to update the Audio driver using the Lenovo driver website. This is important because I updated all of the drivers using the Lenovo website when I got the computer. However, the Lenovo website failed to update the audio drivers. So when I first used the WiDi I had no sound. It was very easy to update but you will likely need to update the audio drivers separately should you do what I did. Once I installed the WiDi software for Windows 8 (from the Lenovo Website) and added the Neatgear Push2TV 3000 to my TV, it worked like a charm (I also updated the software on the Push2TV 3000 - PTV3000 that I purchased from Amazon. However, I don't think that this was critical)."

  • Compatibility issue between MSI MS-6575E and a Linksys PCI wireless card

    Hi all,
I have a Compaq Pavilion a249.pt with a MSI MS-6575E motherboard. I bought a Linksys PCI wireless card to access to network.
The problem is when I plug in the PCI card the system don't boot. It remains in the HP logo and doesn't jump to system start.
I plug the card in another computer and I get no problems...
Do you have any idea about what can be wrong?
    Yhanks,
    CC

Thanks for your comments and help. The problem is solved!
Here are the steps I took:
1 - Try to find help in HP support team: they don't help me in any way!!!!
2 - Try to find help in Linksys support team: they help me isolating the problem and they didn't have any kind of error report regarding with Linksys card and MS motherboard. They told me to try the linksys card in another computer to ensure that the card was in perfect conditions. And it was.
3 - Download of MSI motherboard manual to find any clue.
4 - Search for a forum (like this!) and ask for help. You were the only with straight and usefull ideas  . Thanks!!!!!
And now the solution: After checking the BIOS parameters regarding with LAN boot (you told me to disable it), I switched the card to PCI slot 3. The boot was OK.
Again, many thanks to you all.
