Dma2200 win7 problems

my hard wired network works fine with vista media center connecting to the extender and also on another win7 pc connecting but my main pc connects for 1 second then on the extender the screen goes black (sounds can be heard) then after a few minutes disconnects, has anyone else had this problem please?

Hi,
Well if the other PC's running on Windows 7 is working with the DMA2200 then we can say that its the configuration on that single pc thats causing a problem. I think you already know this but most of the troubleshooting steps actually for extenders are mostly on the PC as long as your extender(hardware) is connecting to your network and can be pinged, all the other troubleshooting steps are on the software side/settings on the MediaCenter PC. The "EventViewer" tool on windows is the best way to find errors and find solutions when setting up an extender.
Launch Windows Vista EventViewer thru ...
Start > Search > type "EventViewer"
or
Start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > EventViewer
On the EventViewer window, select "Applications and Services Log" then "Media Center", you can then use the link below to find out what is causing the problem.

  • P45 and Win7 problems?

    Hi,
My system is about 10 months old, homebuilt, originally installed Vista64. It took a while but with bios Ver.1.4 was finally able to get stable,Ram at 1066 and OC to 3.0ghz.
Upgraded to Win7 64. Started having random blue, green or black screen crashes. Flashed to Ver 1.6 . This did not seem to help or make things worse. All drivers and Win7 were up to date. No problems running memtest or prime.
Next I setup a dual boot with XP sp3 32bit. Also went from the onboard sound to Soundblaster. XP runs fine with no crashes. Have had this setup for about a month.
Today, set ram back to 800mhz. Still getting the crashes in Win7. Most time crash starts with mouse lock and audio stutter if music is playing, this lasts for about 1 to 2 secs then screen goes green or light blue/white or black. Then have to hit reset. PC will then reboot to option for safe mode but loses wireless mouse and keyboard, has to time out then will load windows and mouse and keyboard will start to work again.
I downloaded the latest beta bios but did flash yet....I hate flashing the bios.
    Any help will be appreciated....
    Thanks,

    Quote
All I can say is don't mess with flashing BIOS again as 1.6 seems to be just fine for the rest of us with P45 Plat
Unless you have 4 sticks of matched RAM.  Which there is a bug in 1.6 that causes the chipset to be confused about the size of the RAM sticks and you end up with 5 memory slots and 12GB of RAM.
Also, the newest beta compared to the 1.6 final is far better in RAM performance.  I am seeing 33% Bandwidth increase and greatly reduced latency in my overclocks.
But down to the real matter..  The major culprit is almost certainly the dedicated sound card.

  • Laserjet 1300 driver for Win7 problem

Plugged my Laserjet 1300 into my new computer (System 7) via USB- and Windows couldn't find the right driver for it.
I canceled Windows trying to install driver automatically, and put original CD driver disk (Serial #Q1334-60107 ver 2.0) into drive-
but couldn't get Windows to recognize printer, even after re-boots.
Since I bought printer a while ago, I checked for updated drivers online, that would be 64 bit.
    I installed this one:
    upd-pcl5-x64-5.4.0.11744.exe
During driver install I plugged in printer & turned it on at what i thought was right time. I see this:
"HP Universal Printing PCL 5" as printer- but it won't print.
Tried Windows 'Uninstall' feature but it doesn't show the driver, to un-install it- OR where the driver's located.
** QUESTIONS: How do I Un-Install the driver? Do I use upd-pcl5-x64-5.4.0.11744.exe OR original disk driver #Q1334-60107 ver 2.0?
What's the procedure for installing this?- I can't find anything, despite an afternoon of Googling.
    Thanks.
    This question was solved.

Did you follow this guide to install the print? Installing LaserJet 1300 on Windows 7
You should not need to navigate to the driver you download. Actually stick it in the trash can for now When you selecet "Add a Printer" you need to select "Add a local printer." Ignore the writing to the right, that only applies if everything is working properly. If you follow the guide at the top it should get installed properly.
No need to feel foolish and no problem at all for helping. Thats what I am here for

Open Regedit.exe and navigate to the following registry key:
     HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MAIN\FeatureControl\FEATURE_DISABLE_TELNET_PROTOCOL
Backup to original key by right clicking “FEATURE_DISABLE_TELNET_PROTOCOL” and selecting export.
Save the key to a location where you can easily locate the file if it needs to be restored.
If this key does not exist, please add the Key as named above.

One Key Recovery (OKR) works with Windows 8 pre installed OS using a special partition that is on the hard disk drive.  When you installed Windows 7 it mostlikely formatted the entire drive, wiping out both the Windows 8 partition and the OKR partition in the process.
At this point the Windows 8 files are lost and if you wish to re-install Windows 8 it will require the recovery disk set purchased from Lenovo Support.  The other programs that were loaded on with the orginal disk may not be supported by Windows 7, or there are no drivers in Windows 7 to support the hardware that is linked to that software.
    Good luck.

  • Downgrade to win7 problem with audio drivers. beats audio software for win7?

I recently purchased the HP Envy 700-074 from best buy.  it was necessary to downgrade to windows 7 for some work software and I would like proper audio drivers/software for windows 7. Right now it seems to be detecting as Nvidia audio driver but in this case it doesnt allow my front panel audio ports to output audio. I would also like to have beats working.
here are the hardware ID's associated with the card
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10DE&DEV_001C&SUBSYS_38423619&REV_1001
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10DE&DEV_001C&SUBSYS_38423619
and here's a quick screenshot of the driver that is associating with it right now..
    http://gyazo.com/23499c19d5e2a21f81b9124ad822c07d.png
even those VEN_10DE's seem to associate to nvidia, but from HP the driver is meant to be IDT high definition audio? is something going on here?
the only change i've made to the computer is upgraded to an EVGA Nvidia GT 610 video card.,

    Hi, Paul.
    I have similar problem here.
I bought HP Envy 810-200nr and I hate W8, so I installed Windows Server 2008 R2, which is my favourite.
Then I solved numerous problems with chipset drivers and finally it all works, but Audio (IDT HD Audio) does not work.
    Completely silent.
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76C7&SUBSYS_103C2AF3&REV_1001
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_76C7&SUBSYS_103C2AF3
It looks okay, when playing audio - indicator blinks and shows level, volume can be adjusted, all parametrers - speakers, etc seems okay but silent!
I tried numerous drivers for W8 and W7 64 but they give "Incompatible version" error.
Can you advise me what to do? I really want WS2008R2 here, but this audio is weird..

  • M125 synch to Win7 problem

Trying to USB synch my old m125 with my new Win7 Pro (32 bit) machine at work. Always worked fine on prior XP machine. Per Palm's suggestion, I installed Palm Desktop v. 6.2.2 and the installation went smooth. HotSynch appears to "work" normally, but data on my m125 isn't appearing in Palm Desktop.  User Name is correct (I only ever had one) on both m125 and HotSynch Manager. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Just found the answer by searching the forum (I know, should've begun there). For those with 32-bit Win7, just download the free app named PalmHotSynchSetup here: http://www.pimlicosoftware.com/ (bottom of page).  I did that, selected the option to load legacy databases when promted, and then ran HotSynch, and viola! all data from my handheld appeared in the Palm Desktop. Took all of 2 minutes. Awesome, now I can go on using my ancient m125.

  • DMA2200 connection problem

I have this device that I've been using without issue for several years. I recently moved and the unit was in storage for about 5 months. I reconnected it this week and expected it to work just as it has since the main PC has not changed nor had my network hardware. Unfortunately, when I tried to start WMC on the device it failed and went into setup mode and gave me a new set of digits to enter into the extender setup. I tried to do this, but after it connected to the device fine and installed the software it would fail the rest of the setup. I know WMC can see the device as I can see it in the extender setup (it says not configured) and in Devices and Printers on the PC. When looking through my Event Viewer I find five entries for each time I have tried the setup. Four are informational and confirm that the extender has been discovered. The last one is an error and says:
Media Center Extender Setup cannot create an account for the Extender with ID: uuid:79BCDA88-7D45-422E-B0F3-6BAB97AAC17F.
Error: Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed.
I have no idea what this means or how to correct it. I have only Windows Firewall running and all necessary services for WMC are enabled. I know these are unsupported devices, but mine was working fine before the move and I'd really like it to work again as WMC is a big part of my TV viewing and saves me a lot of money on DVR rental. Thanks.
PC is running Windows 7 64-bit and has been for over 2 years. The only thing I had to change was my tuner setup since I moved from the west coast to the east coast.

I already did all that with no luck. I tried connecting it to another computer on my network and it did fine, so I at least know it is not an issues with the device. Problem is that this PC has only an analog tuner so I can't stream live HDTV from it unlike my main Media Center PC that has 4 digital tuners. Also, streaming recorded content from the main PC through this other PC to the extender results in choppy playback, a problem I didn't have when the extender was connected to the main PC. Something has obviously changed on the main PC to cause this issue, but I have no idea what.

  • Is it possible to get a cler answer on the Gameport/win7 problem ?

    Hi people,
I got a SBLive audigy 2 ZS installed on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and of course the gameport is not recognized ... I tried a driver posted on this forum ( http:// forums.creative.com/t5/Windows-Vista/Creative-Game-Port/td-p/35808/page/3?view=by_date_ascending ) but it didnt work ....
Is there a fix for that problem ? I use that gameport for my MIDI controler to make music so needless to say that it's mandatory for me to get this to work ...
Also , could it work if I get one of these USB to Game Port adaptor ? ( http://www.usbgear.com/computer_cabl...&catid=626,06)
    Thanks in advance.

Like a lot of you, I am trying to get my DA15/Gameport Joystick to work in Windows 7 64bit and I am hoping who ever reads it can possible help fix this problem, I think a solution would help me and a lot of other people. The joystick in this case is my Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback pro, great stick!
And too boot I thought I had a great solution witch worked on my Dell Precision 650 with Windows 7 x86 32bit.
This was to install a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 zs sound card, which has MIDI/Gameport header on the card (Which requires a purchase of separate, DA15/Gameport header bracket) and the use of Daniel Kawakami's Audigy_Support_Pack_5.3 along with the Gameport_vista.exe drivers he extracted from Windows XP x86 32bit.
But I ran into a problem 3/4 of the way through. With the drivers, I can like most of you get Win 7 x64 to recognize and install the drivers for the Gameport itself. But getting the joystick install is the other part Which is where most have hit a brick wall an seemingly insurmountable one that laughs at us with a **** eating grin. That requires the Gameport Control Panel utility from Windows XP x86 32bit. Which according to research the SYSwow64 emulator in Win 7 x64 dosent allow the 32bit Control Panel utility to install. So therefore, using the Sound Card method to install and use DA15/Gameport joysticks dosent work for 64bit systems.
That is unless someone who is an awesome programmer (which is not me), could re-code, patch, or just some how figure out a way of fixing/installing the 32bit Control Panel utility to be used in Win 7 x64. This would solve a lot of problems not only for me but anyone else for just about another joystick there is and also for anyone who has a horde of great DA15/Gameport joysticks stuck int there Moms basement.
The only thing I have found out on the net, is the use of USB to gameport adapters such as the Rockfire RM-203, but that only works on analog controllers. The MS SideWinder FFB pro is all digital, but then I found about the FFB-Vert Project, its an opensource project that uses Tinsey 2.0 boards and firmware to provide a dedicated adapter for all MS Sidewitnder joysticks including FFB pro with Force Feedback effects. Its 40.00 pre assembled, I am thinking about geting one.
So if you have a x86 32bit system, you can slap in a great Sound Blaster sound card and install the drivers. Then BING BANG BOOM you have your old trusty 'stick back and can go to town on all who dare get in your way just like it was '96. But as always for us x64 64bit users there is always a problem and it costs money to fix, but at least for the FFB-Vert Project it sounds like a good cause and could use the support.

  • MBA 2011 installed WIN7 problem!!

after i installed WIN 7 using bootcamp cannot connect the internet in Windows, MAC OS is ok for network,
it look like missing the driver and i checked in hardware installation page is show fault on internet control card,
where can i find the driver?
    anyone can help plz!!

Win7 on the MBA uses the Broadcom driver.  The drivers are installed automatically when you run the setup.exe program from the Windows Support folder on the bootable USB stick that was created as part of the BootCamp process.  You should not need to download the drivers individually.  Try re-running the setup.exe program to see if the driver loads properly.

  • My Adobe XI only shows gray pages when I try to scan to my drive from an Epson WF-3540.  The file shows it is a multiple kb pdf file.  To read it I have to e-mail it to myself and let online mail reader open it.  Can scan jpg and tiff with no problem.

Is there a compatibility issue with Adobe Reader XI 11.0.10 and the pdf scan program fro an Epson WF-3540 All In One?  Is it an Epson Problem?  Is it because the "source" shown in Properties from an Epson is a PDF 5.xx file?  I can't understand why I can e-mail the item and get it to appear in the online Adobe reader, but if I try to save it to my computer drives it comes out with blank (gray) pages again. Is it a Win7 problem?  Help I have a lot of scanning to do and only know everything was fine until about ten days to two weeks ago.  Don't know if an update for Epson, Win7, or Adobe might be problem.

Thank you very much.! Two weeks of very frustrating uninstalls, reinstalls, cursing, moaning and  thinking about buying a new scanner all solved with the check in the box.  I have no idea how it got unchecked, as I never mess around with things that work.  Incidentally, I got a "Fraud Detection Alert" on ~grafitti's message.  When I went to the Adobe page and read the answer, I could not find the "Correct" button anywhere.  Please see that ~grafitti gets some more points.

  • New problem connecting time capsule to PC running windows 7

I have a time capsule/airport that has been connecting wirelessly to a PC running Windows 7 for almost a year.  The PC is now unable to connect to the time capsule giving an error message of 53 regarding TCP/IP Netbios settings.  I have attempted opening the airport utility and eliminating the spaces in the time capsule name but had no success.  Any suggestions?

Start with a reset of the TC.. plug it into the computer by ethernet and redo the setup.. remember.. you have ethernet to bypass all the wireless voodoo.. you can do the setup without even having the TC in network.. pull it out.. plug straight into the computer with a short cable.. go to work..
If windows 7 still has issues.. then it is a win7 problem entirely.. reinstall win7 being the best solution.. !!
Well that is a bit mean.. in their multitudinous updates.. Microsoft will often send an update that results in some nasty effects they never had 10,000 different PC to test for. Sometimes you need to roll back the update..
Sometimes win7 just goes stupid.. go to device manager.. unload the wifi card driver.. reboot the computer and load it back again.. get the latest driver from the card manufacturer.
Also make sure windows hasn't decided it is now in a work or public location not home.. it does this at intervals.. randomly to introduce fun in networking.. turn off firewalls.. and start testing procedure.. ping the TC.. turn off ipv6 in both the win7 and TC.. etc. Loads of fun things to do.
I am not sure the error message is at all relevant.. never really needed netbios to work to get internet.. but go to the tcp/ip properties for the wifi card and make sure you check netbios over TCP/IP is on.

  • Win7 install does not see new hard drive (640gb Samusung) on MacBook Pro

Replaced MBP 5,4 (mid 2009) hdd with a Samsung HM641JI 640gb drive. OS X installation went fine using SL install disk, updated software to 10.6.4. Problem is with Windows 7 installation using Boot Camp. Partition is created (tried 32 to 300 gb). Windows 7 install disk loads but after "Install now" and accepting license agreement, it does not recognize the drive or any partitions. XP install works fine. Had same Win7 problem with 2 identical hdds and 3 different install disks which were full version, not upgrades. Installed Win7 using boot camp on 320 gb Samsung drive (also 3.0gb/s SATA) without a problem. Tried formatting the bootcamp partition on the 640 gb drive to NTFS, but still not recognized. Any suggestions?

Odd you can't see anything. I'd use Windows 7 recovery tools to do a full initialize and map out bad blocks if necessary. Or initialize from OS X drive and then do full slow format etc from Windows DVD.
