DMBE3 empty in some documents

Good Morning,
I am on a client that as went live in 2008. Two years later a third currency was implemented due to the implementation of new companies in SAP (Currency 1 = Company Currency AOA; Currency 2 = Group Currency = USD; Currency 3 = Strong Currency = AOA).
As expected there are documents that only have values in two currencies (prior to 01.01.2011) and other documents that have values on the 3 currencies (after 31.12.2010). Since Currency 1 is the same as currency 3 one can easily see the problems by looking at a Balance Sheet.
My sugestion is that all itens (open and non-opened itens) and balance values until 31.12.2010 are reversed and migrated again. So that all documents have a third currency value.
Before i suggest this delicate and long task i would like to know if anyone know of any updating report to this field! Or any other work around.

Hi,
Create new company codes with activation of third local currency.
upload the balances as on 31.12.2010
If you activate third local currency in the existing company codes, then you'll face the problems while clearing and so on...

Yes, that's why I recommend one have more than TimeMachine as a backup because if certain files or folders are corrupted on the TM drive, your not logging into your migrated user account or not be able to transfer it what so ever.
Then it's a REAL PAIN and costs $99 to bit read the TM drive to get the files out, then it's mess to go through and sort all the empty placeholders from the real files as TM doesn't save duplicates in each state, just uses the previous state's copy if there are no changes.
If you create the same named user account on the new machine, and simply transfer files via a USB thumb drive and place say music contents into the Music folder, then it will work too.
Look into making clones of your boot drive, the benefit here is it's bootable, you can access the drive directly to pick and choose files, run the computer just like before etc.

The object placement options are greyed out in iWork in Lion in some documents, where they worked before. Does anybody know how to fix that?

Following the line of Yvan's suggestion, you need to become familiar with the different object attributes and how to recognize them.

Question asked and answered several times.
If you didn't save, nothing is recoverable.
iWork apps don't create temp files so, as far as you on't save something, Time Machine can't archive it.

I tried Peggy's List > Select All > Copy > Paste into an AW spreadsheet suggestion.
In my case, pasting into the spreadsheet lost all text formatting (mostly text set to bold). The results of formulas were pasted, and checkboxes were pasted as "on" or "off". The DB did not contain any pop-up menus or radio buttons, but I expect they would transfer as a number showing the list position of the chosen item.
Pasting the copied List view data into a Numbers table gave a result similar to that with AppleWorks. I selected B2 as the target cell (for top left cell of the pasted data) to avoid any effects of posting into a header row or column. Bold and regular text formatting looked the same as it had in AW's List view.
Based on that, I'd slip the 'paste into an AppleWorks Spreadsheet step, and paste directly into a Numbers Table.

Yes, that can be done. But note that all administrators will have the same right to print, so you need to make sure the users are not administrators. You can include a macro to disable printing, but if the users disable macro, they can print the documents.
Hence, there is no foolproof way to prevent printing documents. If you still need a foolproof security, PDF format provides password based security (viewing doesn't require a password) that can be implemented to prevent the document from printing,
which doesn't require any special scripts and is tough.

Can't open some documents in Pages on my macbook pro

I'm running 10.8.5, when trying to open some documents in pages, some of docs are greyed out and will not open. Many others are fine. These are docs that are on the mac, not icloud. Any suggestions on how to open these docs? I am running pages 09

I figured it out. Most of the documents that I could not open were PDF's, so when I went to Finder, they were all there and they were all available to open.

Why can I change the callout text font in some documents and not others?

By experimenting I have determined that some documents that will allow me to add callouts also let me change the text font to a different font or font size. Other documents that will let me add callouts will not allow me to change the text font. A specific example is that I can add callouts and change the callout's font in pdf's I create by printing from Word, but a datasheet I have from a manufacturer I use will allow me to add callouts but not change the callout font. Why can't I change the font in callouts I add to the datasheet? I am using Acrobat 9.5.2. Thanks for the help.

Thanks Bob, I didn't think of that, I suppose that would work. Basically I would just like to have more text sizes to choose from in the drop down menu, I guess its more an issue of laziness on my part than anything else. I could make a character style for it, but then I'd probably have 10 different character styles just to change the size of my text when it would be less hassle just to type in the size I need. I was just looking for a quick fix default option that I was used to having at my old job.

Indesign cs4: why are some documents extremely slow?

i am working on a iMac (2.8ghz core i5, 8gb memory).
Some documents are incredibly slow on my iMac - on others in the same office the documents are working fine.
Even if I set the preview of images to 'low' after every action - selecting a tool, selecting a box, anything, however small, it takes at least 10-15 seconds before I can do a new action.
I suspect it has something to do with EPS settings, but I can't find anything that seems likely to be reason for the slowness.
HOpe somebody can help me!

[JS CS3] Can't add a swatch to some documents

I have the following script:

For some documents this script works as it should. But for others I get the error message in ESTK "An incorrect number of color values was given."
The error message is telling me that I cannot add CMYK swatches. If I change the colorSpace to ColorSpace.rgb and have only three values in the array cmykRatios, then the script works in the document that before would not accept it.
But then trying to add an RGB swatch to the documents that previously accepted the new CMYK swatch gives me the very same error message: "An incorrect number of color values was given."
Obviously there is some difference between these documents but I cannot see one. Why would one ID file accept CMYK colors but not RGB colors and vice versa? Any clues as to what might be wrong here?

I just tested your script, and it's working fine on new documents. Then, I created swatch with same name but in RGB space, and received same error. Are you sure that you don't have swatch with same name already in document? But, on the other side, why would it work after you change script to RGB. I added one row into your script, so you can test it.

As far i as know there is no such user exits which meets your requirement.
Try withe the user exits in the below link, if it doesn't work create a implicit enhancement in the program where it selects document from the database table.
