DMP (Shared) Printer configure in SAP

Hi Dear,
I have one DMP (Dot Matric Printer 9 pin EPSON 330+) and installed in desktop no 1. I have in installed this printer in desktip number 2. I want to take sap printout from desktop no 2 through this printer. If i define set as default in printer setting in desktop no 2 and use locl in SAP then printout comes. In case i use printer name (CHQIT) in sap then printout does't come.
My sap version is 4.0B with oracle, os is sun solaris 8.
What I have done:
1. Printer is installed in winxp desktop no 1 with original dirver.
2. This printer is shared with CHQIT name.
3.I have installed shared printer in desktop number 2
4. Two printer installed in desktop 2 computer one is network printer and another DMP printer.
5. I have configure in SAP spad with below setting:-
output device = CHQIT
short name = CHIT
device type = EPESCP9
Spool server= bdisappd_BDP_00
Destination host = CHQIT
Host printer =
INGRIT003\CHQIT
access method to host spool = S
The desktop no 1 have static IP Address
I have mentioned everywhere upper case without space in configuration of spad, printer name & printer share name also in uppercase.
If i select set as default dmp printer and use locl in sap then priting comes in the dmp ptinter but if i select CHQIT printer in sap then printing don't come on the printer.
Previously this printer was working properly with the same sanerio. I have delete this printer and reinstall again after that this problem comes with me.
I want to know should i left any configuration or somthing missing when i configure.
I know the configuration of network printer and installed so many times there are no problem comes till now. But this is not network printer.
If any one have some idea about this, pls reply with details.
I need this help on urgent basis.
Regards,
Anil

  • Duplex printing configuration in SAP?

    Hi friends
I had configured a HP8150 printer in the output attributes i had  set the printmode as DUPLEX. is there anything that I have to do? kindly suggest me on this issue
    Thank you

    Hi John,
-The so10 print test confirms that your printer is ready to print dumplex if requested
-For the actual sapscript printout : Do you know the sapscript that is used ?
( if not, e.g. for an SD sapscript output you can find this back in table TNAPR for the output type used )
-goto transaction SE71 for your sapscript and choose the option 'PAGES' : Click on each page and you fill find a 'print attributes' box where you can change the page to DUPLEX. Save
-If you now retrigger a test output from the actual transaction, you should have duplex output ( if long enough ..)
To be more specific you need to teel us want document you are trying to print,

  • SAP Printer configuration

    Dear All,
How I check the setting in printer configuration of the user from basis user.
    Thanks

If you use local printing you can't check the settings because the local settings of the PC of the user are used.
The default printer of a user can be seen in transaction SU01

  • Can't connect to shared printer on Windows 7 Pro x64

I have a print server on Windows 2008 Standard and I have drivers installed for both x86 and x64 archs. The ricoh printer seems to work fine on windows 7 pro x64 but the hp printer will not work correctly. It seems to download/install the drivers but when actually connecting to the printer it errors out.
It says cannot connect to printer.
I can add the printer manually if I use tcp/ip printing instead of connecting to the shared printer. I can't figure out why its not working. Has anyone else seen an error like this? I'm not really sure what is causing this issue.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Thanks for the post.
Please also let us know the exact model of this HP printer.
If possible, please reproduce this issue on the Windows7 client and collect the relevant information for further research.
    Step 1: Download Process Monitor
    ======================
    1. Please download the Process Monitor at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
    2. Extract the zip file to Desktop.
    Step 2: Clean Boot
    =============
Let's disable all startup items and third party services when booting. This method will help us determine if this issue is caused by a loading program or service. Please perform the following steps:
    1. Click "Start", go to "Run", and type "msconfig" (without the quotation marks) in the open box to start the System Configuration Utility.
    2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray).
    3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK".
    4. Click "OK" to restart your computer to Selective Startup environment.
    5. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts" box and click OK.
    6. Check whether or not the issue still appears in this environment.
Note: Temporarily disabling the Startup Group only prevents the startup programs from loading at startup. This shouldn't affect the system or other programs. We may still manually run these programs later.
    Step 3: Collect the Information
    =====================
    1. Open Procmon.exe (Process Monitor).
    2. Reproduce this issue.
    3. After that, please click Capture in the tool bar (or directly press Ctrl+E) in Process Monitor.
    4. Click Save, in the prompt window, selects “All Events”.
    5. Click Browser Button (The button is right to “Path”), in the prompt window, click Desktop, type “test” (without the quotation marks) in the File Name box and press Enter.
    6. Find the file, right-click on this file, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder".
For your convenience, I have created a workspace for you.  You can upload the information files to the following link.  (Please choose "Send Files to Microsoft")

  • Printing to a Windows XP shared printer

I have long printed from my Macbook with Snow Leopard to my Windows XP computer with a shared printer. I began encountering intermittent connection issues, so I reset my printers. Now when I go to add a printer, under Windows, I see my Windows XP computer, but I get the "unable to connect to server" message. I have been able to add my IP printer, but I cannot add any USB shared printers on my Windows network. I can still connect to my Windows XP computer as a server.
I have scoured the forums and tried many different fixes, repaired permissions, etc. Now I'm at wit's end. Any suggestions?

Kappy, thanks for the input. Your suggestions didn't solve my problem, but through your links I was able to find another fix at macwindows.com relating to modifying the WINS settings and it worked. See below. Thanks!
+Daniel Hoit also sent configuration info for accessing Windows shares, and disagreed with a previous reader about Leopard's file sharing:+
+Samba based services are updated to reflect revisions to the open source Samba project in Leopard, and are not a step backwards. The addition of packet signing alone is a huge and welcome addition.+
+As for the poster's complaints regarding WINS workgroup and Finder browsing, the options are still there in Leopard. You can configure the WINS information in System Preferences/Network/ Advanced/WINS section. Choose a workgroup, and choose a wins server if you have one on your network.+

  • Anyone know how to print from Win2K or WinXP to shared printer on iMac?

Help! Anyone know how to print from Win2K or WinXP to shared printer on iMac? I have a new IMac hosting a Canon iP4300, a pc running W2K & a pc running WXPsp2. All computers recognize each other and the iP4300 on the network and can share files. All Mac "Windows Sharing" & "Printer Sharing" preferences sre set correctly. Apple says the printer must be configured on the Windows computers as an SMB/CIFS network printer using a Postscript driver. I can find lots of pages on the net telling me I what needs to be done, but nothing stating how to do it. All the info I've found is either overly simplistic and or relates to the 10th dang of enterprise server administration. Would VERy much appreciate any help at all.

  • Can't print from XP Machine to an OSX Shared Printer

    Hi All,
I already configured my Epson RX 620 in OSX, it's printing perfectly. I turned on the printer Sharing and the Windows Sharing in OS X. Then I found my iMac in my XP explorer, connected to the shared printer, set the drivers in XP and print the test page....
    That's where the problem started!
The job is submitted to the OS X Printer QUEUE, but it's not being printed.
It said "smbprn.0000000003 Test Page Finished", but I am getting no output from the printer...
    Any idea?

  • Tiger machines can't print to Leopared shared printer

I have an HP Laserjet 1320 connected to my Mac Mini (Leopard) and this works as expected with that machine. I have tried sharing this, and other machines on my network (all running Tiger) can connect to port 631 on the Mini and print test pages. However, they can't actually print anything from any application. Instead, a dialog box saying simply "Error while printing" pops up.
All the Mini's cups logs look fine, but the other machines say such things as:
    I [13/Nov/2007:20:09:26 +0000] Added remote printer "HPLaserJet_1320series@utovogh"...
    E [13/Nov/2007:20:09:35 +0000] getprinterattrs: resource name '/printers/ ' no good!
Configuring the printer as an IPP printer rather than relying on bonjour gives different effects. The job starts to print but then the printer is stopped. The printing machines' logs say:
    I [13/Nov/2007:21:01:22 +0000] [Job 3] Connected to utovogh.local...
    D [13/Nov/2007:21:01:22 +0000] [Job 3] Getting supported attributes...
    E [13/Nov/2007:21:01:22 +0000] PID 412 stopped with status 1!
E [13/Nov/2007:21:01:22 +0000] [Job 3] Destination printer does not exist!
    Has anyone any suggestions?

    Eventually I discovered the following.
When setting up the client machines to print to the shared printer, the machine hosting the printer identified itself with bonjour as $HOSTNAME.local. Upon looking at http://localhost:631 on the client machines I noticed that the printer was identified as $PRINTER_NAME@$HOSTNAME, the ".local" part having disappeared. So, the solution was to add an entry to /etc/hosts on the clients.
Next, to find out why printing is so slow from the clients...

  • Problem with shared printer after upgrade to Maverick

    Hi Guys,
I have one iMac and two windows PC which connect to the same WiFi router.
The iMac has a HP LaserJet CP2025 attached to its USB port and shared with other windows PCs with no problem.
Until I upgrade my iMac to Maverick recently, now those PCs cannot see the shared printer anymore.
Do you have any ideas what configuration is changed in the Maverick which could cause this please?
I have been searching through Apple communities and other tech forums and have tried many solution, but still cannot solve this. (I have also tried setting up LDP, but no luck so far)
PS ... Shared files seems to work fine. I can access (read/write) the shared files/folders from windows with no problem (SMB and AFP enable).
Any ideas, pointers or links would be appreciated.
    Cheers,

  • Printing to shared printer over VPN link

We have been using the cisco VPN client connected to a 3020 concentrator for a while with no issues.
I have a user that wishes to print through the VPN tunnel to a remote printer from a system on the LAN. He is trying to use a program called Easy Label to print barcode labels. The software uses the windows printer list. The barcode printer is attached to the remote PC and is setup as a shared printer on the LAN. When they go to print labels they simply select the printer on the remote PC through the drop down box and everything works fine. It works just like printing on any other printer on the LAN.
They took this second PC, installed the VPN client and connected back to the LAN via the VPN tunnel. They are now unable to print to the remote PC and the barcode printer thru the share.
Could this be an issue with encapsulation through the tunnel and file & print services or an I missing something else?

Refer to the following document "PIX/ASA 7.x: Allow Local LAN Access for VPN Clients Configuration Example" in order to familar with local LAN access of the VPN client.

  • Printing to a shared printer on Windows 7 from 10.6

I have two MacBooks running Snow Leopard and I'd like to print to a shared printer on a Windows 7 desktop PC. I've tried putting all three computers on the same WORKGROUP but I still don't see the Win7 box. Help!

Windows 7 introduced a new sharing feature called HomeGroup that is supposed to replace the workgroup for home networking. However, the feature only works for Windows 7 connected to other Windows 7. Therefore, if the Windows 7 computer has been configured to use HomeGroup, the first thing you need to do is detach Windows 7 from the HomeGroup.
The next setting is the network profile for Windows 7 computer. Windows 7 provides four network profiles; Home, Work, Public and Domain. Based on the network location you choose, Windows assigns a network discovery state to the network and opens the appropriate Windows firewall ports for that state. Ideally the computer should be set to the Home or Work profile. You don't want the Public profile - it is designed for places like Internet cafe's so the sharing is very restricted.
With the network profile selected, another setting within the profile that can hinder the discovery of the shared printer is the network discovery setting. With this setting turned off, the Windows 7 computer will not appear under the respective workgroup (or if the setting has been changed after the computer was seen by the Mac, then it can appear in the workgroup computer list but will not show any shared printer - this is most likely due to the LAN manager timing). This setting can be accessed via Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Advanced sharing settings.
Also, within the Advanced sharing settings for the Work or Home profile, another setting called Password protected sharing can stop the shared printer from appearing. With this setting turned on, the Win7 computer will still be seen when adding the Windows shared printer, but after selecting the Win7 computer, the shared printer is not displayed as no prompt is given to enter user account details. So this setting needs to be turned off. Then when the Win7 computer name is selected, a prompt will appear requesting user account information. The Guest account can be selected here to see the shared printer name.
    *Adding the Printer*
Now that you can see the printer share, the next step is to add a printer driver that will support the printing via a Windows computer. The Canon drivers do not support this type of connection, even the so-called CUPS drivers. For this type of connection, the user must have the Gutenprint driver set installed, which may not be installed by default depending on the type of install they performed with Snow Leopard.
It is important to note that not every model of Canon inkjet and AIO is supported by the Gutenprint driver set. This is especially the case with the later models. In this situation, a user will either have to wait or check out the other CUPS application, PrintFab. Because there is a cost involved with PrintFab, users will typically avoid this application however the software does keep up-to-date with newer model releases compared to Gutenprint.
