Hello Everybody,
my team and me need your help.
We have the same problem...
- Installed Content server on Win 2003 server
- Using SAP ECC 5.0 and trying to create and configure content repository via 'OAC0'
- This is initially our test environment so here we are not using any certificates
When we try to connect the Content Server from ECC 5.0, an error popup appeared : HTTP error 401 "Error in configSet".
Is somebody has  an idea ?
Latheef (or someone else), could you please forward me the Configuration document on SAP Content server ?
My mail is :  <email address deleted by moderator>
Thanks in advance & Regards,
Christophe

  • SAP DMS and Content server installation.

    Hi,
I am new in DMS. i have done configuration of DMS . now i want to store document on Content server.
so how to install content server on windows server 2003.
How to connect DMS and content sever?
    How to access document ?
    please help.
    Thanks,
    Dipak.

    Hi Ricardo,
    1. By using T-code DC10-Document type creation:- you will create Document type first.
    a. create document type
    b. define status if you need.
    c. Object Linking- if you want document attach to SAP object then you need to configure by using same T-codeDC10.
and please go through below link:
    http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/print46c/en/data/pdf/CADMS/CADMS.pdf
    2. You want to Store document into SAP database/file system/SAP Content Server.
    a. you need to decide first where you will store document.
suppose you select store into SAP Content Server then you need to select KPRO check-box in DC10. then you need to create Content repository by using OAC0 tcode an create storage Category in OACT transaction.
    b. suppose you want to store into File system then you need to configure Data Carrier in DC20 T-Code.
    c. if you want to store SAP Database then also you need to Content repository  same like SAP content Server in OAC0 tcode and select storage type as SAP DATABASE.
    and then create storage category.
if you have any query please let me know
    Thanks,
    Dipak.

  • DMS and Content Server in ECC 6

    Dear colleagues.
IN ECC 6 there is a internal BSP based content server, that allows store the document in the main SAP Database.
In case of great number of documnets. managed in DMS, can in impact performance of all ECC 6 applications.
Does it make sence to install separate 640 Content server, or maybe install pure NW 2004S server, which wil run inly content sever BSP on separate database?
    Regards
    Vladimir

I would always recommend the use of the SAP HTTP Content Server (640 content server). The database on the SAP server itself is impractical for anything other than a dev or qa environment.

  • Configuration RCM and Content Server

    Hi,
We want to use RMS (Record Management System) to manage documents (.doc, .xls, pdf...) and save these documents on content server.
How can I configurate  RCM and Content Server?
Please give me link to manual.

    Hello,
I will suggest you to better to go with VAULT object setting in DMS. Because if you use content server then there will be few constraints. like you can access doc only via sap and its related objects. but via VAULT setting you have sepearte system where you store it and physically access it at any time without going via SAP and its related object.
only u need to provide the ADMIN rights for system maintenance.

  • Document stores in both SAP database and Content Server

    Hi,
We don't want to store doc. in SAP database and chose to use content server. We have KPro checked in configuration also.
Our basis team has created a content repository ZP that points to the content server, in the document area.. they enter "ARCHLINK" instead of DMS. So they told me to create doc. and pick this new ZP to store the doc. But we I created a doc. in CV01N, went to check in the original, the new repository ZP is not on the list of choice to pick from. So I cannot store the doc. in that new content repository.
Our basis team told me that if we use DMS in the document area, the doc. stores in both SAP database and Content Server. We don't want to have doc. stores in SAP database that's why we have content server.
How can I create DMS and store in content server only (not SAP database) ?
    Thank you,
    Sam Schwartzberg

    Hi Samantha,
While check-in activity are you able to choose the new content repository i.e. ZP?
If not then use t-code OAC0 and while creating the repository check whether the certificate is activated by basis or not .
If not then you need to activate the certificate for the new repositoty in CSADMIN then only it will appear in the list while "check-in" the dcouments.
Please check for the same. Also check the t-code OACT , this new repository is shown or not.
I hope this will resolve the query.

Please note that this transaction will go on for some work if i try administrator user, which is the user for NT server where content server is installed. With any other user it again prompt for password and will not move forward untill I provide this user-pwd.
When I check in txn slg1 log following is the error message:

  • SAP Content Server Configuration multiple repositories

    Dear Gurus,
We have a content server configured with SAP CRM.
Recently we faced issue with large size of generic object created by user monthly in SAP R/3 (SOFFCONT1 growth )  thus we are considering to use content server for generic object storage.
    Could you please advice?
    1. As far as I know , I can have multiple repositories in content server thus can have my R/3 and CRM repositories in same content server ,  Please correct me , Any importent aspect which should be consider while doing such( except growth recalculation and user load for additional R/3 system).
    2. We are running SAP R/3 from past few years and we have a huge number of generic objects in R/3 database.
Is it possible to migrate existing generic object to content server?
    Thank you

  • CFolder to Content Server configuration

    Hi
Kindly let me know whether Cfolder can be configured to SAP Content Server. We have installed Cfolder in a seperate system and Content Server in a seperate server.
    Regards
    Prasanna.B.S

CFolder is an ABAP application, Content Server is a webserver with a library storing data in the database.
How do you want to "integrate" them? Those are two different systems for different purposes.

  • Plumtree - IIS and Content server - tomcat

Can you please let me know that I have installed the plumtree on IIS. Now I have to install Collaboration 3.01 and Content Server. But the content server and Collaboration can be installed on following servers
    - Weblogic
    - Tomcat
    - Websphere
Then can you please let me know how do plumtree installed on IIS will interact with Content server and Collaboration. IS there any way. This is very critical please reply soon.

------- Michael Bruce wrote on 7/14/04 7:41 AM -------Both Collab and content servers run on a Java server framework. That means that you have to have Tomcat, WebLogic, or WebSphere running and hosting those applications. Portal server can run on IIS. Portal interacts with Collab (as well as content, workflow, your portlets, Lotus notes integration, and many more) through http. The Portal makes a request to collab for content. Collab receives that request and processes it. The results are returned (Response) to the portal and the portal renders them as needed.
To re-phrase, IIS do not interact with Collab or Content servers. Portal does, and it interacts using HTTP.
Please let us know if that answers your question.
    Hope that helps,Michael [email protected]

  • Document transfer from SRM to DMS through content server

    Hi Everybody,
In one of scenarios we need to transfer documents attached to the shopping cart line items in SRM to R/3.
For that we followed the following procedure.
1.In the SRM to R/3 system, the attachments are driven by the BADIs.
2.In the BADI, if we define DMS_C1_ST as the storage category for R/3 Database, the DMS should work
3.The existing DMS, the customized content server is Z_DMS.
4.Using SRM (with Z_DMS)we are able to create the Document Info Record
5.The attachments are not reflected in DMS (driven through SRM)
6.When the attachments are added in the DMS manually, DMS works perfect
I am thinking there might be some configuration required in content server for the conversion of original application files.
If anybody have the solution for this please post here.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh.

  • SHarepoint as SAP Content Server Configuration

Actually this message is for Espen Leknes because I have read something from him i another message but if you guys know about this, all will be wellcome !!!!!!!
This is Andrea, Basis COnsultant. I am writing to you because I was reading lot of messages in SAP SDN regarding DMS and SAP Content Server.
I saw you have participated in lot of messages. I am specially interested in one of them which is about Sharepoint.
The customer I am working in would like to use Sharepoint as global Content Server and I would like to configure Sharepoint as SAP Content Server in order to save documents and attach them to sap objects (scanned invoices, manuals, cad drawings, etc)
I know it is not possible since Sharepoint is not SAP certified and http inteface from SAP (archivelink) does not work with this product.
I have read about Inet.DM and thinks like this.
I read you have configured SHarepoint as WebDav. In some post you have written:
    Hi guys,
There is a third way, where you end up using Sharepoint as your content server
    1. COnfigure a content server to use file storage
    2. COnfigure the file area for webdav
    3. The webdav is the sharepoint webdav
Voila, you are using sharepoint as your content server.
Why the heck you would do that is beyond me, but it works.
    Ok, the question is:
I am using ECC60 and I dont have file storage option.
Is is possible to explain this again or sent me screenshots os OAC0 ?? It would be very useful.
Thanks so much in advance for this.
    Andrea

  • SAP Easy DMS / KPRO / Content Server

    Dear Fiends,
We have a requirement to configure the SAP Easy DMS integrating with ECC 6.0 EhP6 application. I am trying to understand the base application components which are needed to set-up the landscape.
    My questions are:
1 - Do we need SAP Content Server as part of the SAP Easy DMS configuration to store the attachments? (or) Can we use shared file system and link it to SAP Easy Document Management directly to store the attachments?
2 - Do we also need KPRO along with SAP Easy DMS?
    Thank you,
    Sri

    Hello Tilak,
    Thank you for the response.
Based on your comment, We have to use KPRO regardless whether we use Content Server or not with Easy DMS.
Is KPRO a additional installation or is it part of standard SAP application and available via transaction codes?
    Thank you,
    Sri
