DMS document Number ID

Hi Experts,
Could you please know the way to find the archive document ID for DMS documents.
I am creating a new repository for DMS attachmments . But currently whether its stored or not to check this i need archive link document ID,

How to see the DMS document number in PO / PR?

Dear experts,
I am using DMS. I have created a document in DMS and I have linked it to the PR & PO line items. Till it is fine.
But I am not able to find out this document in PR / PO. Can some one help me how can I find the document number in PR / PO??

In the ME23N screen , there is icon which likes a pin on paper between the Item over screen and the Item screen . If you click this icon , a new window with all the DMS documents linked to the PO would appear.
This is in the same line of the delete , lock , copy etc ..sequence .

Authorization object of DMS Document Number

i need to limit access of users on range of document .
for example :
i have created document type ZFI with number range 100 to 500
i need grant the access of a specific user to range from 100 to 300 only .
How can i do that ?
i need to know the authorization object of Document number .

Hi Reda,
You can use ACL authorization, There is the only option available to control authorization at document level.
The task for doing the same will take time if the documents are more, I hope there is some standard FM for ACL , try using the same and let me know the results.

DMS DOCUMENT NUMBER MISSING

Dear Experts,
I have encountered the problem for the last couple of days Documents Control Number continously missing from the DMS. Don't know i have already checked dump file even also checked from my technical team but noone can understand the exact problem. What scenario we people are doing in my organisationlet me tell u.....
1)Our portal screen has been developed by webdynpro coder once vendor can upload the documents than automaticallu one document control number generate that we can see in CV03n but sometimes later when users want to see that particular documents it will not appear.
2) Workflow also triggering at each level so no manual process following here.
Can anyone suggest appropriate solution for this query why document control number is missing ?

Create DMS document from direct object transaction instead of CV01N

Dear Experts,
I have raised an issue for the same thing in past and got helpful reply also. However it is not working here. I have searched enough but did not get satisfactorily answer.
My requirement here is to create and store DMS document directly from the object attached to DMS document type instead of CV01N e.g. create PR ME51N, create project CJ20N etc.
So far I have done the required configuration to get create option in transaction while entering DMS document number. I kept document description field as an optional for respective document type and created and assigned role in Define profile step. Number range is internal. So I think all necessary configuration in place. Now problem here is when I am clicking on create easy document icon, it ask me to select document type and file from local machine also. But nothing is happening afterwards and document is not getting created and stored. Transaction return on screen without any number and so. Please help me out. Did I miss anything?

Select the document type in question,navigate to "Define object links".Please verify if the following values have been maintained:
Screen no-233
When new version-1
Create document-1
Document version-1
Additional functions-checked
Post this,re-test the scenario and share the results.Also,do confirm if you are able to create documents of the above document type using CV01n transaction successfully.

How to Display DMS document in Enterprise Portal

Hi All,
I have a scenario as described below.
I have a workitem which goes to user in his/her UWL for execution. When this workitem gets executed it displays an Adobe Interactive form.
Iin this Adobe form i am giving links to DMS(Document Management System) documents. So when this link is clicked the related DMS document files should get displayed.
Thru BAPI i m able to get DMS document number its Object Links and details of the files (PDF,DOC,XLS etc..) attached to it.
But I am not able to display this attached files on my enterprise portal. I debugged in R/3 and found out standard Function Modules which are used to display this attached documents of DMS and wrap them in RFC and called this RFC when user clicks link on Adobe Form in EP.
The problem I m facing is this RFC is not able to display the attached document files of DMS document on Portal front end. it gives error as u201CException condition "NOT_SUPPORTED_BY_GUI" raised., error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE"
The reason behind why it is running successfully in R/3 is, it gets front end as SAPGUI but while we execute it thru portal it does not get frontend type as SAPGUI cause portal always runs in Browser not on SAPGUI.
So, Is there any way to display this DMS document files on Enterprise Portal?? Or is it possible using Knowledge Management?? Or any other standard BAPI or FMs which can be used for the same purpose??

Easy dms multiple document number search

Dear experts,
We have installed easy dms 6.0 successfully. We have a problem in
usage. In selection screen we need to search "document number" field
with multiple search criteria, however the system permits only 1
entrance.

Dear Ahmet,
based on your description I have to inform you that the mentioned behavior means to be the current standard of EasyDMS. If you want to search for documents in EasyDMS you can only enter one document type and here multiple values are not possible. So I can only recommend you to use other fields like 'description' for searching document info records of different document types.
As EasyDMS is programm in C++ no individual screens could be customizing here. This behavior is also the same in EasyDMS 7.0.

Delete link between a DMS document and a change number

Hi. I've associated several DMS documents to a change number, using CC02 transaction. Now I'm trying to delete these links. I can neither delete them nor delete change number. I've marked "Deletion indicator", but I don't know how I have to continue.

Hi Iván,
please use report MCDOKDEL: This report is used to delete the Documents which are marked for deletion.
To delete the linkage between change number and object link, please go to CC02 and select button "Objects". Here you can see all linked objects to this change number. Select tab "Documents" and mark the document for which you want to delete the link. Afterwards please press the delete button. Then the linkage to this document should be deleted.

Error while linking dms document with cProject.

I am encountering an error while try to link the document in cProject under SAP DMS tab. The error message is

There is no link between SAP R/3 and SAP DMS server.
Please be create for RFC's through SM59 tcode.

Error while linking DMS document in cProject

Hi,
When I link the document of DMS in cProject an error message
`` Link Not Possible: The SAP R/3 DMS document info record contains orig( Message number 26 000)``
is appearing. I could search the list of documents . I am facing this issue only selecting and clicking the continue button under SAP DMS tab in cProject. RFC is doing well. Pls help me to solve the issue.

Please check after using following steps.
Goto - SPRO -
> Collaboration Projects---->Structure---> Define Project Type
Please select the your project type and check SAP DMS is selected under tab Active Function.

I have to develop a BSP application which provides Documents links from DMS. Is anybody know which BAPI i can use to optain relation between the material (MATERIAL_GETLIST) and the document number DOKNR ?

You're right but my customer had a problem on his WAS. Bapi browser didn't work. I tried to connect the BOR with my Visual Studio and my SAPDOTNETConnector I had the same problem. So I did some zfunction on the R/3 systems all called these from my BSP application. Good way to optimize the performance...
My proof of concept was a success for my customer, and he was reinstalling a complete WAS to continue the project

Yes, but you need to create a RFC Connection between your CRM system and ECC6. SAP DMS itself is not available in the CRM system so the RFC connection needs to be in place in order to use it.

Document Number generation as per the client requirment

Hi,
I would like to generate the document no as per our client's document numbering logic. This is not available in standard.
In additional data tab am collecting information from user (Characteristics values) to generate document number.
E.G.
I have 2 characteristics
1. Part Type:
    Values: A - Type 1
                B - Type 2
2. Part Code:
    Values: 01- Part 1
                02 - Part 2
                03 - Part 3
When am creating document am selecting Part Type = A & Part code = 02 so my document number is A-02. ("-" : constant).
I am planning to use BADI "DOCUMENT_MAIN01" - method "ASSIGN_NUMBER".
In this method how can i get the characteristics values which filled user on screen ? Is there any Function Module for that ?
I tried Function Module "CTMS_DDB_CLOSE" but this is not released also this is not working in Easy DMS.
Is there any other way i can take i/p from user to generate document number ?

Hi Sunny,
An experienced ABAPer can capture the required information from the sub screen(additional data) number (4000) and the subscreen program (SAPLCTMS). This data can be used in the method of the BADI.
