Hi Experts,
Need a help.
Is this possible to link DMS document type (created with help of DC20) with dedicated content repository (OAC0)?

Hi Adam,
If you do not select the "KPRO" indicator then your original files will get uploaded on SAP database with different storage category.
You can have different category for different document type...provided while uploading the document/file from CV01N/CV02N you should select the correct category from the pop up.

DMS configuration done in SAP R/3 and able to see all configured document types in sap easy dms as well. But document description wrongly showing under document types.

Everything fine.
In SAP r/3 , document type & document description correctly given but while in EasyDMS document type picking incorrect document description. Remains no issue in easyDMS.

DMS document output in SOP report

Hi all,
I want to OUTPUT a DMS document in SOP Report template. But it is not reflecting in my SOP report though I have fullfilled the prerequisites.Here are my steps that i carried out
1) I have linked the DMS doc. in a value assignment in user defined text.
2) The DMS document type is SBV.
3) The required document indicator tick is alos ensured in specify user defined text types in BASIC DATA & TOOLS in customizing.
3)It is also ensured that the EHS <> DMS doc types are linked in customizing.
4) I put the symbol in wwi report template under GESTDHEADE HEADER User-defined text .
But when I run the preview (cg42) the space where I have assigned the symbol is blank.
I even tried to put my required data in Long text in user defined text tab assigning REMARKS as user defined text type but there is no output in REPORT when i carry out preview.
Requesting your comment what shall be the cause of this .

Hello all
the document type SBV should not be used or used only carefully regarding this. I recommend to use a customer specific document type. SBV is related to WWI report templates. Furthermore make sure that generation variant fits usage of data record in which you have set up the document which is located in the user defined text (Active indicator of usage must be set). I know cases in the area of access problemes so that the WWI could not retrieve the user defined document. PLease make sure that you have "checked" WWI layout without error (WWI Check).
PLease check this:
if you have uploaded e.g. an rtf file and created a value assignment and you have uploaded the document to be stored in the user defined text than the document is "there". That means: in this process the SAP EH&S process generate a new unique id which should show up in the user defined text (there somthing like this should show up: SBV WWI 0000111223 numbers...)
Using this unique ID you can check if the document is really in DMS available. Furthermore depending on the EH&S release (support package etc.) you could check this. If you "click" with the mouse key on the unique id (refer above) the SAP EH&S system should upload directly to your client computer the document and start immediatly the corresponding application (e.g. word etc.) . In doing so you can check if the document is "really" there
May be you need to check further DMS customizing. E.g. depending on the document you have used in upload there is a missing link to the "type" of document. .E.g. the EXCEL macro regarding standard SAP output variant links to I believe a seperate document type

Create DMS document from direct object transaction instead of CV01N

Dear Experts,
I have raised an issue for the same thing in past and got helpful reply also. However it is not working here. I have searched enough but did not get satisfactorily answer.
My requirement here is to create and store DMS document directly from the object attached to DMS document type instead of CV01N e.g. create PR ME51N, create project CJ20N etc.
So far I have done the required configuration to get create option in transaction while entering DMS document number. I kept document description field as an optional for respective document type and created and assigned role in Define profile step. Number range is internal. So I think all necessary configuration in place. Now problem here is when I am clicking on create easy document icon, it ask me to select document type and file from local machine also. But nothing is happening afterwards and document is not getting created and stored. Transaction return on screen without any number and so. Please help me out. Did I miss anything?

Select the document type in question,navigate to "Define object links".Please verify if the following values have been maintained:
Screen no-233
When new version-1
Create document-1
Document version-1
Additional functions-checked
Post this,re-test the scenario and share the results.Also,do confirm if you are able to create documents of the above document type using CV01n transaction successfully.

Document type to default content repository

Is it possible to configure the DMS system so that when you create a document using CV01N and check in the original (using a KPro document type) it will enter it into a content repository by default, without using the pop-up box.
For example a document of type DMO (if DMO it has KPRO checked in it's setup) - always puts the original document in DMS_C1_ST?

if I understood your latest information correctly your request is that
the files are stored automatically to storage category if
you add a file of a specific workstation application to a document info record and save it.
This first setting enables the automatic start of the checkin
process. But to have a specific storage category choosen for an
original workstation application, you have to do another setting and
create a profile in your system in the customizing under
- Cross Application Components
     - Document Management System
         - General Data
             - Define profile
For this profile pleasee add your workstation applications under
"Determine definitions for applications". Here you can maintain the
default storage category for this application in field 'Storage cat.'.
Since this profile is created assign it to all your users directly.
Then if an user adds a new original file and chooses a workstation
application the system should take the storage category automatically
from the profile.
To achieve an automatic checkin behavior the additional required setting here are the flags
"Checkin" and "Checkin required" which must be set for the used document status in transaction DC10.
Another proposal would be to use the BADI DOCUMENT_STORAGE01 which
shoudl offer also methods to control which storage category should
be taken for which workstation application.
I hope that this information could be useful for you. To set up this
scenario in detail I would recommend you to contact your local
consulting organisation too which will help you in realising a solution
that meets all your requirements.

Link DMS document to LISP and PLPO object types?

Hi,
I am trying to link the Objects LISP & PLPO to the DMS.
In the process of this I followed the note - 321531
I did the following steps.
1.Copy screen 1204 in function group CV130 to the screen number 9003 to the program SAPLCV130 and did the rest of the steps as per the note.
2. Copy screen 1204 in function group CV100 to the screen number 9003 to the program SAPLCV100 and did the rest of the steps as per the note.
3. In DC10 Define Document types - I created new entry with object LISP and screen no 9003.
4. And created a document no and attached VBELN and POSNR values to document no.
5. I did config part in the SPRO Maintain Key fields and added these objects details .
6. Now when I go and check in VL03N transaction entering VBELN no which is existed in the document no
I supposed to find the tab or menu path for the Document Folder?
But I am not able to find any tab or menu path that related to documents.
Can anyone let me know if I am missing anything ? And also where exactly or what kind of tab or menu item it will add in the transaction VLO3N?

We are trying to create a documents via TCODE: CVO1N
One of the entry we need to populate is the "DOCUMENT TYPE" to create a document. If, we enter the Document Type = DRW, we are not able to see our custom Storage Category while attaching/Check-in a document.
Where as, If, we enter the Document Type = DMO, we are able to see our custom Storage Category while attaching/Check-in a document.
I see that the Document Type = DRW is linked to Document Area = DMS
Similarly, the Document Type = DMO is linked to Document Area = FILESYSTEM
My question is, Is there a transaction code or a customizing option available to link the Document Area and Document Type?

When i test the cvaw_document_change bsp...i hv given a document number and doc type and version...when i click on change....it says "Document Type is not internet Enabled"
What exact settings needs to made?

For this, you need to "Setup Web Documents". Define the doc type , here is how to do this.
Transaction SPRO
-> Cross Appliction Components
-> Document Management
-> Setup Web Documents (BSP)

Not able to upload file in DMS(Document Mang. system) using Web dynpro ABAP

I am facing a problem while uploading the file into the DMS ( Document Management System ) from Webdnrpo .
I am using the BAPI - BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2 to create the document .
CASE - 1
when i am providing the storage category mention below and no data carrier1
ls_documentfiles-storagecategory = 'ZHMEL_CS'. it is not able to upload the document in the DMS system and when i check
in the debugg mode it giving error as ""Error while checking in and storing: C:\TEST.TXT "" .
CASE - 2
When i am not using the storage category and providing the the data carrier as default
ls_documentdata-DATACARRIER1 = 'DEFAULT'. It is able to create the document in the DMS but i am not able to read that document .
I checked with DMS Consultant that DMS is configured for ZOL ( documenttype) with a storage category as 'ZHMEL_CS'.

Document Type Restriction in cFolders

Hi all,
We have implemented cFolders 4.0 in our project as a document repository. We have a requirement to allow users to upload certain document types only (e.g. .doc, .xls). Is this configuration available out of the box? Otherwise, how do we customize the standard cFolders configuration to enable this restriction?

BAPI used to fetch / display Documents from Repository

Please let me know the BAPI used to fetch / dispaly Data from DMS Repository.
Also, do let me know the inputs required.
I have tried - BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEW (but while executing is always displays - 300
The Knowledge Provider is using document type LGL as a storage system)

Originaltype - 0 (im not sure if zero is correct)

Able to download file using these BAPI's from SE37.
One query - It is downloading files in name of user (original files name not getting downloaded)
Eg:, My file name was demo.docx but is downloaded as myusername.doc
Further, i hope these bapi can be called via RFC (using Java Code).

Linking Custom Storage Category to STandard Document Types

We have created Custom Storage Category ZSRM pointing to Content server.
We would like to link it with SRM document type defined in ECC in DMS.
Really appreciate if you can direct us where we can link the above two.
Additionally would be great to know , why for SRM DMS we have to set it up in ECC and why it is not available in SRM server.

Hi Sotage Catogories are defined and maintained in t-code OAC0 and OACT. Here you need to define certain parameter like area as document management then only these repositories are getting assigned to DMS.
Understood , so dms is having it's own classification (017) area without which we can not store dms document into any other servers or repositories. If you want to store in other module repositories, then you need to define this repository first in DMS.

When you create DIR under "PRD" document type , there is no copy fucntion SAP DMS to copy all DIR under "PRD" Document Type to newly created "ZRD" Document type.
Can you please explain me why there is such requirement.

Preview of DMS document error

Dear all,
I am a QM guy and using DMS.
Now, I have a issue for DMS.
Our vendor upload excel file to vendor inspection LOT using Supply portal.
Then we can see the document in CV03N.
When we click the file in CV03N, we can open the excel file.
Vendor uploaded the 4 document under the same file name as below.
Lot          DMS NO.               Quantity     filename
10004238493          30001926280            30          abc.xls

When I try to see the first document (its quantity is 30 )in CV03N, everything is O.K.
But When I try to see the other document (its qunatity is 7 ), I can see wrong document .
For example, I want to see 30002527693 but 30001926280 is shown.
I think same filename cause the error.
Somebody help me ?

As per your reply i understood that you are not able to differentiate the old and new file.
Can you please check whether the content version option is checked while creating the document type.
Also check the version of the DIR created.if there is any change in the version numbers,start searching with that particular entries in CV03N.
