CS 6 Design and Web premium individual programs (not in use for some time) are now launching as trial versions since the advent of Adobe Cloud. Windows platform. The "serial number is not valid" link I have already explored and their wonderful solutions do not apply and their suggestion to reinstall my software is the ABSOLUTELY LAST THING THE WORLD I will ever do after my initial experience with the original post-antipiracy measures installation. I understand antipiracy actions, but Adobe's response is out of control and not working for those of us who have honestly purchased the software. I did not create this issue, Adobe did. They should provide a telephone number with a live body to fix this issue for those of us affected. BTW I have been trying to resolve this on my own for one week before I even posted in this forum. Again I appreciate your responses, but they are not resolving my issue.

yes you need the updates and patches.
Only some of the drivers that Windows will automatically install at times
and always make sure to insure it is using restore points
do all the maintenance andsuch as normal
use MS Security Essentials for AV is really top notch
Clean disk space
Use WinClone new program to inisure you have a restore image

Windows has a software updater built into Windows and when you install the Boot Camp drivers then it will install an Apple software updater also. I believe Windows is set to automatically download and install your updates as does the Apple software Updater. They both will update the individual files it needs to periodically.
"Microsoft updates" and "Windows updates" are basically the same thing in Windows. Are you talking about the "Windows support software" when downloading from Boot Camp Assistant? Apple installs a software updater for it's Boot Camp drivers in Windows 7 so you can do it manually or automatically.
The "Hot Fix" your referring to is only for certain motherboards built from other Windows only computer manufacturers and does NOT pertain to any Apple computers.

When I try to add ANE extension to FB 4.7 get this error "This ANE doesn't support Desktop(Windows) platform". Is this a bug ?

By default, when an ANE is imported in to a Flex/ActionScript mobile project, it lets you know what are the un-supported targets for that ANE( i.e., both iOS and Android on device and current desktop) whichever are applicable. So its not a bug, it is the expected behaviour.

A windows license is only good for the Windows platform. CS5 does not qualify for a platform swap. You might be able to install it on a Mac if you get a Windows emulator for it.

I identified the reason to be that the W8 installation file didn't download completely from a Mac OS-device. I downloaded from another Win-device and the moved the installation file with a USB-stick and then everything worked diectly! But thanks anyway.

PI 1.2 needs to run on either a Cisco physical appliance or VMware ESX/ESXi 4.1 or 5.0. It's RHEL-based under the covers.
Unlike LMS, you can't install it on a windows server, either physical or virtualized.

Supported database platform for siebel analytics

Hi All ,
I was going through the Siebel Analytics release notes and noticed that thay have listed supported database twice.Once for SRMW and another given as just the supported database.
I am not able to figure out the difference.Are SRMW databases are the one for which delivered warehouse is supposed to be used and if you dont have SRMW then any of the listed database can be used .
Please advice.

In this document find you can find the supported databases for the SRMW (which is named OBAW nowadays).

What databse I have to install for SOA11g installation on Windows platform

I want to install SOA11g on my Windows laptop. I have installed 10g XE (10.2.0.1) database. But when I tried to create the Dehyderation store using RCU tool, the error I got is like, the datasbase version will not support for this installation, however its asking to upgrade it to 10.2.0.4 version. But I didn't find any patch for XE database on windows to upgrade to the required version.
I also tried to install the 11g enterprise database, but I am not able to succede. There I have faced one issue, that using RCU tool I am not able to connect the database as a SYSDBA. So I have dropped this DB and shifted to XE. Now I have stuck with XE version problem.
Is there anybody who installed the SOA11g on the windows platform per personal usage? If so please guide me.

After this I got some more errors , I have ignored them aswell. (One I remembered is open_cursors limit was 300 suppose to be 500).
Finally I have created the entire schemas except the PORTAL CONFIGURATION everything is successful.

RMAN Full Database restore cross platforms

I have a database 10.2.0.3 running on Solaris 10 OS.
I have performed a full back up (level 0) of this database using rman utility with auto back up on. I am trying to worl on a scenario where I could restore this backup on another linux machine. so I copied over all the backup pieces into the target linux server. from a local RDBMS installation (10.2.0.3) on the linux machine I am trying to restore the database... but not successful yet..
when I issue restore spfile or restore control file from +<backup file name>+; the prompt continues to search in some location is responding back saying no back up piece found.. below is the sequece of step I am trying ..
1 set up env on the linux server
2 rman target /
(instance not started but rman allows connection)
3 set DBID=+<DB ID of the source database running on Solaris>+
it executes set dbid=
4 startup nomount
as the pfile/spfile is not available under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs on linux machine it picks up default pfile however but the instance stars no mount..
5 restore spfile from '/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/rman_bkp/c-300009955'
here it is not able to restore any thing.same is the case with control file.
Any ideas please advice

The same restriction that is there for the transport of the whole database lies completely true for the transportable tablespace as well if you are going for the cross platform. Endian must match across the platforms than only you can do this otherwise, as like the database feature, you need to convert the source file to the target endian.
If you look at the reference doc for the Trasnport Tablespace command,

You didn't specify which Oracle10 Edition.
In the case of SE/SE one/EE, with a paid license Supported has a mean impact on production environments with paid licenses, since you wouldn't run on an unsupported platform facing the risk of being left without technical support from Oracle in case of an emerging issue.
For the XE Edition, this is not a certified combination, since the only certified editions are the Business, Enterprise, and the Ultimate editions, but you can try it, you don't have nothing to loose, supported, certified vs. unsupported in this case makes no difference since this XE is not supported either way (no patchsets, no bug fixes, no technical support from metalink), just an AS IS free software.
On the license agreement terms displayed when you download the XE software it states:
"No Technical Support
Our technical support organization will not provide technical support, phone support, or updates to you for the programs licensed under this agreement."
and
"THE PROGRAMS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE FURTHER DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS AND IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE."
In case someone would be able to win a trial against oracle due to damage from the use of this software, the amount paid at maximum is 1,000.00 USD, not enough to even pay the lawyer's lunches.
For the XE users the primary source of 'kind of support' is the oracle forums, either the installation forum, the general database or the specialized XE forum.
Of course if this is for your own personal use for learning and testing and there are no third parties you could damage by doing this and if you don't have a paid license for this installation you may try it, but don't expect the Enterprise Manager to behave as defined by the manual, most of it won't work since the Home Edition doesn't have the privileges required for EM to work.
If this is your personal computer and when you bought it the computer provider installed from factory Home Edition, and if you want something to work there, you can try to install a Virtual Machine and install Oracle 10g on a supported guest OS.
