DNG Converter 8.7.1 not installing

Running a Mac with Yosemite.  Have LR5 and PS6.  After upgrading to LR5, and attempting to edit a RAW files in PS6, I get a message saying to upgrade my DNG Converter to 8.7.1.  I did, but the plug-in does update in PS6.   Any suggestions?
I've restarted everything, and reinstalled the converter, but it still wont update.

update your lr to lr 5.7.1
your ps can still be updated, but i can't determine why you're showing an old cr and you've stated you've already updated ps to 13.0.1.3

CS4 will not open NEF files. I installed DNG converter and it did not help. Also, I tried to just "update" photoshop and it did not work. It is a new camera (Nikon 1).

Yes, you need CS6. DNG Converter is just a standalone tool to convert RAW to DNG files which then may be possible to open in older versions of Adobe tools.

Solution 1: Use a supported installation.
The following are unsupported installations, and the supported solutions:
If you install Acrobat (Professional or Standard) on a 64-bit operating system, then you may
see this error. Please update Acrobat to version 8.1 or later. You can update from within
Acrobat via the help pull-down menu, or download the updater from the following location:

Solution 2: Ensure that the Print Spooler process is running and set to
    Automatic, and then repair Acrobat.
    1. Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
    2. Double-click Administrative Tools and then double-click Services.
    3. Locate the service Print Spooler.
    4. If the Startup Type is not Automatic, then set it to Automatic:
    a. Right-click the Print Spooler.
    b. Choose Properties.
    c. Choose the General tab.
    d. Choose Automatic in the Startup Type menu.
    e. Click OK.
    5. If the Print Spooler service is not running, then start it.
    a. Right-click the Print Spooler line.
    b. Select Start from the menu.
    6. Start Acrobat, and choose Help > Detect And Repair.
Solution 3: Ensure that the Print Spooler process has no additional
    dependencies.
Only the Remote Procedure Call dependency is required for Print Spooler to operate.
Additional Services can attach to the process but will interfere with restarting the service.
If the Print Spooler process has additional dependencies, then please refer to the steps

I am having similar problems. After years of successful use, about a year ago, my printer (Epson stylus Photo R300) stopped working. After much investigation, it appears my computer no longer recognizes my printer. I've followed resets, safe boots, uninstalls, reinstalls, etc. This happened so long ago, I don't recall what I was doing when it happened. I'm figuring it happened shortly after a Software Update... So far none of the fixes recommended to me have solved the problem. I've been using Epson customer support, but they've stopped responding. None of their suggestions have seemed to work either.

  • Downloading DNG converter and it's not working

I've downloaded, reinstalled, and tried several different versions of DNG converter to download my 2nd shooters Nikon D7100 RAW .NEF files, but it's not finding any images once I have it installed. I've downloaded version 7.4 for Windows, which contains the D7100 update...and I've tried installing the newer version 8.6 as well. Nothing seems to be working. What am I doing wrong?

If you are new to the DNG converter, it's possible you are getting caught by the prompt where the converter is asking you to locate your raw files. It's only asking for the folder. Don't open the folder containing your raw images or you will get the message that there are no images to convert.

  • DNG Converter 5.4 will not convert Canon 500d .cs2 raw files

    Hello
I downloaded the DNG Converter 5.4 to try and convert the raw files from my new Canon 500d.
I got an error message stating "the file could not be created."
Has anyone with the same camera got the dng 5.4 converter to work with the 500d yet???
I am running osx 10.5.6 (latest version)
I know I should have checked before spending over £1000 pounds on a new setup that the camera will work in lightroom. I am very upset with myself.
If anyone can help let me know.
    Thanks,
    Matt

I'm running Windows XP - downloaded and installed both DNG Converter and ACR 5.4.  Found a 500d raw file on the Internet and downloaded, opened ok in the DNG converter, produced a .dng file that then opened successfully in ACR.  And the raw file also opened in ACR.
I would first check the installation process, perhaps someone on the forum with both 10.5 and a 500d can testify.  Or if they have just 10.5 do the same as I did and download a test file.

  • DNG Converter 6.4 does not recognize any RAW files

    Hi,
I have updated DNG Converter from 6.2 RC to 6.3 and 6.4. DNG Converter 6.2 RC from Adobe Labs recognizes all my RAW files (Canon PowerShot S50, PowerShot SX1IS, EOS 400D). The official releases of 6.3 and 6.4 do not recognize any RAW files of these cameras.
I select a directory, where the raw files are located, but DNG Converter tells me that no files where selected. With 6.2 RC, I select the directory and everything just works fine.
    What's wrong with this picture?

  • DNG Converter 8.7.1 not converting RAW files.  Windows 7.

DNG Converter is not recognizing any RAW files hence it will not convert anything to DNG.  Tried the download a few times and different versions but nothing is happening.  I just had the computer repaired and iI have lost the ability to convert CR2 and IIQ files.  Previously, before the computer crashed I was able to do so.  At the recommendation of the service tech, I went from Windows 8 to 7, since I hated 8 and other machines I work on are 7.
It probably is a simple fix but I have no idea what needs to be done.  Please advise.

  • How do I open RAW images from T1-XMG CR2?  Adobe DNG converter will not recognize these files.   HELP?

How do I open RAW images with T1-XMG CR2? I have adobe DNG converter but it will not recognize these images.  I have had no problem with converting other images.  and ACR will not recognize them either.  Help!@

The screenshot did come through once I added the period between dropbox and com, making URL:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/o7q829t2n3uuuqg/screenshot%202014-07-01%2012.36.28.png
The screenshot shows the first raw file is named T1-XMG_3306.CR2 which probably corresponds to a normal raw filename of IMG_3306.CR2.  It is not clear where this name came from.  I guess it is possible that you’ve entered in a renaming template in LR’s Import panel that replaces the initial I or _ with T1-XM and so the files are renamed.
What I have asked for is not a screenshot of your filenames, but one of the CR2 files, itself, which you can upload to dropbox and post a link to.  You should use copy/paste to get the link into a message, rather than typing it in, if at all possible.
This is because it was my understanding that these oddly-named CR2 files don’t work, and I wanted to look more closely at them to see if they were recognizable as some other type of file.
Do you have a raw file named IMG_3306.CR2 that these files correspond to?

  • Can't find any raw files to convert when I am using Adobe DNG converter

Recently I purchased a new Olympus XZ-1 camera. I shoot exclusively RAW pictures (raw files for this camera are called .orf). Then when I tried to import these .orf files in the organizer of Phtoshop Element 8 it was imposible, nor then I could see those pictures in the organizer. By surfing on diffrent forums, I was able to figure out that Camera Raw included in Element 8, Camera Raw 5.5, is not supporting the .orf raw from Olympus and if I didn’t want to upgrade my Element 8 to Element 9 or 10, a simple alternative was to download Adobe DNG converter to convert all my .orf files into dng files, which could then imported by Element 8 and opened in Camera raw 5.5.
I downloaded DNG converter version 6.6 and installed it in on my computer running on Windows 7. The problem is that once inside DNG converter, when selecting the folder where all my .orf files are (Select folder), I can't see any raw files to convert there! I tried to select a folder with NEF files instead (raw files from Nikon) and it is the same problem! Why can’t I see those files of mine I want to convert when I select the folder in DNG converter?
    I'm dying for help!
    Thanks a lot!

When you are selecting the folder in the DNG converter, you only click on the folder.  You DON'T double click on the folder.  After you have set your options, and chosen the folder, you click on the Convert button.  It is only after you have clicked on Convert that you will see the list of files that are being converted.  You will also be able to see an indicator of the progress of the conversion.  It really does work.  Just to verify, the procedure I outlined is one that I did just prior to trying to write the instructions.  It really isn't rocket science.  Just choose the folder, only the folder, and click on the Convert button.
You'll notice that the button prompts you to select the folder, it doesn't say anything about selecting a file.  You only select the folder that contains the files.  You will never see a list of files using this method.  If you only want to convert one or two images you can use the other method.  Leave the DNG converter closed, open the folder containing the DNG files in your operating system folder browsing utility, choose the file you want to convert, and drag it onto the icon for the DNG converter.  That is how you choose individual images.

  • DNG Converter 8.4

    Hello,
Can anyone help? How do I get the DNG Converter 8.4 to see the source folder (select images to convert).  The .NEF raw files are on my card in my Nikon D3300 camera. I have the camera connected to my Mac but the DNG Converter can't see the camera with the .nef raw images.  I'm new to using DNG converter so I'm not sure if I am using it correctly.  Lightroom 5.3 sees the files but I keep getting a message, "the file is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom. Basically, I need to import the .NEF raw files off my camera to process in Lightroom and I am having difficultly importing the raw files.  If I have to have the .NEF raw files in a source folder, how do I get them into a source folder from the camera?
    Thank you!

Simply go to the Lightroom menu and choose:
    Help >> Updates
Install the latest version LR 5.7.1 and then there is no need to use the DNG converter. Your NEF's won't be recognized by 5.3 but they will be in 5.7.1

  • Adobe DNG converter doesn't work.

I tried reinstal DNG converter many times and i instal latest GPU driver, but still not working.
always i saw only this and i can't click to browse or to any other button.
I have win 7 (64.bit) and last DNG converter (8.7)

Definitely a video driver problem, then.
Go update your video driver from the web site of the manufacturer of your video card, not through Windows Update or the MS site, those are nearly always outdated.

  • CS4, Nikon d3100 and DNG Converter

I have CS4 Web Premium and can only update the camera raw to 5.7. I want to download the DNG converter which supports the D3100 and that would be 6.3. However, it appears you cannot download a standalone DNG converter. It is coupled with the Camera Raw update, which is not compatible with CS4. So, what do I have to do to work with my Nikon NEF files in Camera Raw CS4?
Thanks for any and all help!

The DNG Converter 7.4 installer does install the 1+5 Adobe-supplied Nikon D7100 profiles on my Windows 7 64-bit computer.  I ran the installer, after deleting the profiles just to make sure they came back, and they all did.
Are you or DxO saying your or their systems do not have the D7100 profiles after installing the Adobe DNG Converter 7.4 or are you or they saying something else?

  • DNG converter no files

Have just installed dng converter 8.3.0.141 to convert raw files from a nikon d610.  When I go into the folder where the downloaded images reside, dng does not see them, folder is empty.  It does not see the images from the nikon d7000 either.  Anyone have any ideas here?  Using ps CS5, this version of PS and camera raw WILL see the images from the 7000, the images/files are there.

The DNG Converter works on folders not files so select just a folder.
In other words, when using the DNG Converter to convert a folder of raw photos to DNG format you should only single-click on the folder that the images reside in to only select it, rather than double-click into the folder where the files reside.

  • KERNEL32.DLL and DNG Converter

I have Photoshop Elements 3 on my Windows 2000 PC. I just got a Canon Digital Rebel XSi/450D camera which saves RAW images in the .CR2 format. Looking for a way to update my PSE 3 so that it will work with the .CR2 files, I posted a request for help in the Tips, Tools, How-To & Techniques for Digital Imaging Forum.
Juergen D replied: The highest Camera Raw plug-in version for Elements 3 is ACR 3.6. It does not support the XSi. You can, however, download and install it and then separately download a newer version of the Adobe DNG converter, which does handle the XSi. Use it to convert the RAW files to DNG and then in turn open those files with ACR 3.6. I think, that is the way to do it.
I tried his suggestion, and the ACR 3.6 update was accomplished without any problem. Using the Adobe DNG Converter did not turn out as well.
The DNG Converter 4.4.1 looks like the oldest version that would support the *.CR2 RAW files from my Canon XSi/450D. The System Requirements listed on the download page for that version state that "Microsoft® Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3" or newer is supported, and I am using Service Pack 4. However, when I try to run the DNG Converter I receive the error message "Adobe DNG Converter.exe -- Entry Point Not Found." Additional details within the error box indicate that the problem is in KERNEL32.dll. I tried DNG Converter 4.4.1 on a second Win2000 SP4 PC with the same results.
Juergen D then suggested that I try this forum. I have looked at the topics that seemed to relate to .CR2 files, and the idea of using the DNG Converter to convert the .CR2 files to DNG seems to be correct. But, of course, only if I can get the DNG Converter to run! I will greatly appreciate any help that anyone can give me.

I did try DNG Converter 5.2, and got exactly the same error message as with DNG Converter 4.4.1.
I also Googled the KERNEL32 error, and I looked it up in the Microsoft Knowledge Base. I found lots of different things, but none that were the same as my problem where everything else works as it should except one application.
Of the two Win2000 PC's, one is connected to the internet (I am using it now to write this) while the other is isolated. Both have Microsoft Service Pack 4, which was the last one for Win2000. The one connected to the internet is also updated every month using Microsoft Update.
I have used PC's at work for decades starting with a hand-me-down machine that ran on DOS 3.2, and I have had one or two Windows machines at home for years. However, I know just enough about hardware and software to get by most of the time. Digging into Windows' guts is not something that I am knowledgeable enough to do.
I hate the idea of spending a lot of money to buy a support package from Adobe just to have them tell me that they don't know what the problem is and that I should spend a whole lot more money to buy a new Vista PC and Photoshop software.
