DNG Download from Leica M9 Camera

My LR3.3 on Win-7 is trying to download DNG compressed by Leica M9. Images are visible in grid view, but when I go to full size preview the message is "Preview not possible" or something similar.
Tried to download ACR6,4  but was informed this was not necessary. Then installed Adobe DNG converter v. 6.4 but response is the same.
Other problem is that LR3 is not presented as an AutoPlay option in Win-7..
Any help appreciated.

Sorry I was not clear. Just succeeded in LR3.3 under Win XP SP3, viewing DNG by Leica DMR. Import candidates are in grid view then previewed one prior to import in loupe view no prob. That is what failed in Win 7 with compressed DNG fm Leica M9 using SanDisk Ultra 8 GB SDHC.
Good news is that the aforesaid loupe preview has now succeeded with 2GB SD card. This, mind you, despite recommended use of SanDisk in the M9 manual. Thanks for your help.
Best, jwc

Is iPhoto open when you connect the camera and are you seeing the camera in iPhoto?
If not then describe in detail how you're going about trying to import photos from your Samsung camer into your iPhoto Library.  From what you've described we have no idea what's going on.
And where is this "import" folder located that you're referring to?

  • No preview when I import DNG files from Leica M9

    Hello,
A stange thing...when I import DNG from my Leica M9 direct from the APN card into Aperture I have no preview of the files I want to import...only the generic icon DNG.
If I import on a folder on the desktop and after I import in Aperture no problem.
Do you have the same problem ?
Thanks a lot for your help.

WAV files in iTunes don't have ID3 tags like you want.
    Here's a wiki on it

Short answer, I don't think you can do this with iTunes.
You can suggest it through the feedback links.

  • Downloading from HD video camera

I am new to transferring video from my new HD video camera to my Macbook. I want to download the video then burn it onto DVD. So, when I try and use the one step DVD mode in IDVD, it says I have to download the video to IMovie HD first then transfer it over to IDVD because the camera is HD. But when I download it, it seems like the speed of the video is off, maybe faster?, and the sound is about 5-10 seconds behind the video. And the 60 min video is only 49 mins long once it is on the computer. Has anyone had this problem? I am a real newbie to this and would really appreciate some help/ideas. Thanks

    Hi Sandy,
Thanks for the help there. I am not sure if I am doing the right things or not. I did what you said and it still doesn't seem to be lined up. I know that on my camera the video is 1hr long but on the downloaded version it is only 49 mins. Is there a speed control or something? Even the video when you are watching it seems slightly too fast, (its a workout video). Let me know if you think there is a speed control. In the picture screen on the camera when I am downloading it is the right speed and volume is correct.
    Thanks again

  • Download from computer to camera

I admit I'm new at this. I have iPhoto2 which came with my Panther installation. I upgraded to Panther a few months ago and am starting to use other stuff like iCal and iPhoto
I am running OS 10.3.9. My camera is an HP R607 with dock.
I am wanting to move image files from the computer back to the camera, so I can use theh TV display mode on the dock. The images were initially made by this camera.
When I try to download, by an export from iPhoto, about half the images transfer and about half transfer but elicit and error message (can't read the image) on my camera. All I get is an orange screen and a message when I try to review them on the camera. As far as I know I have not altered the images or the file name after they arrived at the computer.
I reformatted the memory card before the transfer, and transferred into the folder on the camera where I normally find images. I have not had to use iPhoto to get the images on teh computer as the camera appears as a hard drive on my desktop when I mount it in the dock.
Any ideas? There is one box in the export screen that is checked "use extensions". What does this do?

I don't know where iPhoto came if it didn't come with the Panther install. In any case......
The camera, from the file information window, says for format "Macintosh PC Exchange (MS-DOS)". HP wants the camera set to the disk mode if you don't have their "Image Zone" software installed. I will install it and try it in the camera mode.
I did try out my question on HP tech support without much success. They told me to make sure I formatted my card and that I was doing everything right.
I'll fiddle some more and see what happens, like moving files in small batches or someting. It is frustrating as some files make it and some don't

  • After upgrading to Apeture I lost half the photos. And can no longer download from my digital Camera. What can I do?

After upgrading to Apeture I lost  half my photos from iPhoto. And find it difficut to transfer images
from digital camers. Do you have a solution? Can I download direct to hard drive and skip Aperture?

Since iPhoto and Aperture use the same library format now, do you see your missing photos when you open the same library in iPhoto again? Did you upgrade both Aperture and iPhoto? Have you checked to see if you've entered any text into the various search fields in Aperture? Have you checked for any hidden search filters?
As for transferring digital photos, when you say it's difficult, do you mean that the process is complicated, or that there seem to be actual problems transferring the images?

  • Latest version of Aperture is not recognising .dng files from Leica Monochrom. Is anyone else getting this problem?

Is anyone else finding this to be the case?

Well, the files are probably not the same as those from the M9.  In fact I'm pretty certain this isn't the case.
The monochrom is not listed on the RAW support page:
    http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html
I'm unsure whether running them through Adobe DNG converter would work, either (yes, I know it's DNG to DNG, but it may change the format).  Have you tried it?

  • Files recently downloaded from Canon Legeria FS306 do not play the audio. Can hear audio on camera or downloading same files to a PC. Also hear audio on earlier files downloaded from same camera to iMovie '11. How do I avoid problem & recover lost audio?

Files recently downloaded from Canon Legeria FS306 to iMovie '11 do not play the audio. I can still hear audio on the camera or by downloading the same files to a PC. Can also hear audio on earlier files downloaded from the same camera to iMovie '11. How do I avoid this problemand recover lthe ost audio?

The first thing to try is to run Software Update (the Update tab in the Mac App Store.). This was an issue a couple of releases ago, and an update seemed to fix it.
If you are already at the most recent version of iMovie, then I don't know how to solve you issue. Maybe someone else will have some ideas.

  • ACR 3.6 Leica M8 camera profile

Hi, I have CS2 premium suite on Windows XP. This included ACR3.6 that I can access either via PS or Bridge. I have installed ACR 3.7 update. Bridge recognises the new Raw plug-in when I opened it. I have imported DNG files from Leica M8. I think that there may be an option to select a Leica M8 profile under the 'calibrate' tab. The only option I have for a profile is ACR 3.6. I know that the generic profile does work with my Leica M8 DNGs. I think that there is also a profile specific to that camera. Any help to find this or explain my mistake would be appreciated.

Hi Ramon. Thank you for you reply. I think that the Leica M8 is a special case. I read several references saying that it does have its own profile.
ACR 3.6 also adds support for the Leica M8 camera. This below from a reply to a post by John Nack at the end of 2006. But maybe this is out of date and no longer true?
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2006/10/camera_raw_36_n.html
"The Leica M8 uses DNG as its raw file format. In principle it doesn't need ACR to add support for it. In fact, all ACRs from 2.3 onwards support the Leica M8.
But Adobe have added their own profile for the M8 to ACR 3.6. Users have the choice of whether to use Leica's profile which is embedded in the DNG file, or Adobe's profile which is now built into ACR.
This choice comes from the "Camera profile" drop-down menu in the Calibrate tab. Most cameras using DNG are not separately supported by Adobe - they don't need to be. This one is an exception."

  • IPhoto 6.0.5 failure to download from Canon Rebet XT

I have not had any trouble prior to the latest upgrade. Since then, iPhoto will recognize the Canon and the number of photos to download. But it will not download. I called Canon tech spt who said I was the 3rd call they had received on the subject. They took me thru Image Capture which downloaded the photos which then had to be copied into iPhoto.
    Is Apple working this problem?

    1. Your problems bagan in July? Did you manage to
actually update to 6.0.5? Your problem dates from
    before 6.0.5
    2. That's a Kernal Panic you're having. Do you get
them at other times, or only on launching iPhoto?
    3. KP's are often Hardware related. What peripherals
have you connected to the machine? Including Cameras?
Did you install or change any hardware round about
    July? New RAM?
    Regards
    TD
    1. Problems with Canon began in July when I got it.
    2. No, I tried again to download the iPhoto 6.0.5 update. It says it successfully downloaded, but fails to launch.
    3. I read Old Toad's reply Aug. 11 to Harmon Tison's "cannot open iphoto now" Aug 10 message, to rebuild my iphoto library. It rebuilt, but can't get to the next step. My isync keeps popping up saying "null error, no space left on device?" Why?
    4. Only camera's are connected. Bought an additional external Maxtor hard drive, bc I wqas running out of storage with all my Canon large memory photos. I have not had any problems with that & it is nt connected.
    5. Just tried to download from my Pentax camera (which I never have problems with) and it will not let me.

  • Apperture doesn't read the RAW files from my new Camera

Hi, Apperture doesn't read the RAW files downloaded from my new Camera Fujifilm X-S1. What options do I have to work with .RAF (Fujifilm RAW)?
I was thinking about using RAW Converter PRO but it cannot upload the full information contained into the RAF file. Maybe there is another Program I can use until Aperture includes my camera in its DB.
    Greats!

I've been a loyal Apple user for 20 years and have been using Aperture for the last 2 years. The X-pro came out a YEAR ago and still no x-trans sensor support and yet Lightroom by Adobe and Capture One now has RAW support.I've had to switch to the Lightroom trial as I have a busy studio in hope that Apple might bother with me but again no reply to my emails.
If I have to purchase Lightroom I will probably not come back to Aperture which is a shame
Apple seem to have got too big for good customer service these days unless it's an iPhone or iPad

  • How to enter license number from Leica

I installed Lightroom V4 (downloaded from Leica home page) but I'm not able to find the correct link to register my license number.
When I folloiw Adobe site instructions, I enter a site to buy the product but nowhere to enter just the license number.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Joe Santos

Assuming Leica are using the normal license codes system, when you install LR, it'll ask for your serial number - you should be able to enter it there.
