DNG support for Olympus E600

Hi, I have the latest DNG converter downloaded and running but it still doesnt support my Olympus E600. The E600 is a stripped down version of the Olympus E620 which is listed. How long before an update will be available or is there another way around this?

The E-600 is not listed as supported at all; see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407111.html Strange, as the raw data must be identical or almost identical to the E-620. Perhaps it is too new.

I don't see any support for Olympus in ACR 6.2. Where is it?

The camera itself is supported.  That means it is possible to work on the raw files in Camera Raw.  But there is no support for the lens.  That is a different profile.  It will be necessary for you to wait and see if the profile is eventually provided, create one yourself, or see if there is one available online.

  • Support for Olympus E-410 RAW

When will the RAW format support for Olympus E-410 will be added in?

A date for E-410 RAW support? Your guess is as good as mine.
I'm purchasing an E-510 once they're available through B&H and hope that OS X & Aperture support it quickly. I'm very happy with my E-500, but the E-510 looks like it will address a few shortcomings of this otherwise fine camera.
In the mean time, Can anyone suggest a workflow that would let me use TIFFs created with Olympus's RAW converter and then replace them with the RAW files once they're supported? I'd rather not have to individually lift and stamp the metadata from hundreds of images.
    Thanks,

  • Support for Olympus E-3 ORF - way too slow

I would like to try Aperture but there is no support for the E-3, Olympus' flagship slr. Looks like I have no choice but to go with Lightroom

Personally, it's more than just an inconvenience. I'm not willing to discard my E-3 .ORFs, so I think I have to make copies to convert to .DNG, yes? I want my .ORF files left untouched. Doesn't this mean I end up doubling (more or less) my storage needs? Let me know if I'm wrong about that; I still don't have a good understanding of .DNG files in general, or the A2 conversion process to be more specific.
I am skeptical that the ultimate image quality from converted .DNG files will be equal to what would result from a native .ORF file developed in Aperture (if Aperture supported the native files). This all makes me hesitant to upgrade or experiment with the .DNG conversion process. What you characterize as "all this fuss" is probably a mixture of real disappointment from some long-term Apple customers, just from being left out, coupled with real concerns about about image quality and storage requirements. I'm happy to hear that the A2 workaround is working for you, and I continue to read this forum to learn about others' successful experiences with A2.

  • RAW support for Olympus OMD EM5

Outfitting for a year long back pack trip. My MacBook Pro is going. Am in processof purchasing an Olympus OMD EM5 micro 4/3 camera for the trip. I use Aperture for photo processing. Any idea when or if  Aperture will add support for developing the RAW shots from the EM5?
    thnx

The usual interim approach for raw support has been to use Adobe's DNG converter to create DNGs that Aperture could read. This has always worked with the esception of non-Bayer sensors like the Foveon in Sigma cameras. But I can't get Aperure to read DNGs created from my E-M5's ORFs using DNG Converter v6.7 and have no idea where the problem lies.
It's taken Apple months to support Olympus cameras in the past, so I'm not optimistic.

  • LIGHTROOM SUPPORT FOR OLYMPUS OM-D E-M10

CANNOT OPEN RAW FILES FOR OLYMPUS OM-D E-M 10

On the front page of the Lightroom forum, you will see
which will answer all your questions ... specifically, brand new cameras usually aren't supported in Lightroom for a while after the camera is released

  • No Raw support for Olympus e620

Cant believe aperture 3 does not have raw support for the Olympus E620. I am nearly ready to upgrade. Can Apple get there act together on this.

Harass the company - go to
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
    select Aperture
and request support for the cameras that you use and want to be supported
Tell them you will have to migrate to LightRoom if they do not support the camera.
Now that Apple have moved to a new version of the Raw converter program they have little excuse for not adding these cameras.

  • RAW support for Olympus XZ-1?

With the Olympus XZ-1 quickly gaining ground as one of the most popular compact-enthusiast cameras, I'd think Apple would be very keen on getting RAW support for the camera into Aperture. We're going on six months since the camera's release, and still not there. Does anyone have any line, at all, as to if/when this is going to happen?

"much"?  Considering that Canon and Nikon have a huge share of the market, it is unlikely that Apple lost very many customers because of this.
What I said was Historically Apple has lost much market share to Adobe Light Room through slow support for important cameras... That does include slow support for new cameras from Nikon and Canon. Why Apple gives up this market share must only be because no one has told Steve it is happening; some VP is not doing his/her job.

  • Support for Olympus E-510 and E-410

    Hi,
Will the upcoming 1.1 update provide support for the new Olympus E-510 and E-410? If not, when can this support be expected?
    Jim

This page shows all the supported formats.
Lightroom 1.1 will support all those in ACR 4.1

  • Support for Olympus E-M5 Mark II

Lightroom 5.7 isn't recognising RAW files from the new Olympus E-M5 Mark II. Has anyone found a solution please?
    GIna

That hypothetical GM truck that might not be usable at all due to lack of fuel availability is not a good analogy for a new camera such as the E-M5 II, which (while it waits for Lightroom support) performs perfectly fine when producing jpeg files and even can manage to function by having the ORF files processed in Oly Viewer (provided gratis by Oly). BTW, if Oly (and other camera makers) sold cameras as though they were "intended to work" in 3rd-party software such as Lightroom, they'd probably not be keeping the details of their raw demosaicing under proprietary wraps. If you have a gripe with that  (proprietary raw) state of affairs. then I'm with you. But it seems the finger pointing should be at the camera manufacturers, not Adobe (unless you know something Adobe could be doing --but is not-- to change the way things work).
I received my E-M1 back in October 2013 (more than a month after it had begun shipping) and I seem to recall that the E-M1's supporting Lr update (5.3) came in December.  I was pleasantly surprised...just a 6-week wait. Others (earlier adopters) had been waiting nearly 3 months. Does that make it "right"? Eh, no one twisted anyones arm to buy when they (and I) did.
Finally, even if Adobe had support for our new camera ready just hours after the model was introduced, I think they'd be justified in deciding to delay (at least somewhat) any Lr update until they could also  include support for some number of other, recently issued models. Getting a timely ( and probably unique) update for every new camera would be nice, and perhaps it would actually happen for certain CaNikon models; but it doesn't seem practical with new cameras coming along "thick and fast". I certainly  don't expect any special treatment my Oly digicams, with their very modest market share.

  • RAW support for Olympus OM-D E-M10 will it be updated?

I see support for most Olympus Cameras, but no support for the new OM-D E-M10. Anyone know how long it takes to get the RAW support updated?

Only Apple will know when  updates will be released.  If you want an educated guess, look at the support page for updates and downloads.
    Apple - Support - Downloads http://support.apple.com/downloads/#digital%20raw%20compatibility%205.05
Recently, there have been new raw support releases for new cameras every one or two months.

  • .DNG support for Pentax K10D

Has anyone heard whether Aperture is going to support DNG for the Pentax K10D anytime in the near future?
It's a bummer not being able to just hook up the camera and go. The converter in CS2 is getting old and I'd like to be able to preview and back them up as I go.
Note: I tend to take rumors seriously...feel free to muse.

by the way, instead of asking users who actually
don't have any true insight into the Aperture
development team's agenda about support for your
camera, have you thought of sending a request through
the Aperture feedback web site? this will get the
idea in front of a lot of people who are actually
    working on the application
Camera raw stuff is not handled by Aperture, and therefore I assume also not by the Aperture team. The camera raw facilities are system wide, to the whole OS and the services are provided through the Apple Digital Camera Raw updates such as this...
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/digitalcamerarawsupportupdate101universal .html
These updates are global to OSX and provide the camera raw services to any application running under OSX. Aperture is a consumer of these services in the same way that any other application is.

  • RAW support for Olympus E-5

I upgraded my E-510 to an E-5 last month (the E-5 was only released in November) and discovered that I can't process my RAW files in CS5.  Does anyone know when, or how long it will be before, RAW support for the camera will be available?
Yes, I know I can use the Olymus software to process the files, but I prefer PhotoShop.

You might get an answer in the Camera Raw forum.

  • Can you tell me when RAW (ORF) support for Olympus E-PL7 in Lightroom or DNG Converter is coming? The camera is no use to me until you provide support!

I recently bought the new Olympus E-PL7 an dam finding ti incredibly frustrating that Lightroom still doesn't support it. Is there any news on that?

First of all, this is a user-to-user forum. Nobody here can tell you when/if that camera will be supported. Secondly, Adobe doesn't make announcements like that in advance. The camera will be supported when it is. All of the previous models of that series are now supported in Lightroom, so I suspect it will only be a matter of time until your model will be supported. I know that isn't what you want to hear, but that is the reality of things. There is a release candidate of the next Camera Raw and DNG converter, but your camera is not listed as one of the newly supported cameras. That does not mean that it wouldn't be included in the final version. You just have to wait and see.
