DNG time shift in Aperture

I've had this problem for a while and the latest updates have not addressed it... when I convert my .cr2 files to .dng, the image date on the .dng file moves back 15 hours from the original. Has anyone figured out a solution to this?

I've been playing around with it and it doesn't seem to be that the exif data is changed to a new date. So the above answer seems to hold true.
The strange thing is that if you do the conversion within Adobe Lightroom (Metadata -> Update DNG Preview & Metadata) the date is fine in Aperture. Though that might be because I only had the image file referenced in Aperture. So the date change is made when importing to Aperture.
I'm guessing the only easy way around this is to change the time in Aperture (Metadata -> Adjust Date and Time...) but that doesn't seem to change the master version if an image is in the Aperture Library. Though it worked if it was referenced.
Finally I tried a batch change (shift + apple + B) where you can specify timezone and seems the easiest for multiple images.
All this is doing my head in as I'm still not sure what we are changing and where.

I purchased a new MacBook Pro Retina 15". Since I am using MacBook Pro and I uses Time Machine for backup files and program. Store saleman tell me I can retore my existing program and files from old MacBook Pro to new MacBook Pro computer. After files transfer it seem to be OK. But only Aperture has a problem when every time I open Aperture to edit photos, MacBook Pro ask me to key in the Aperture Serial Number that made me so inconvinent. Did any one have meet this problem and can someone teach me how to fix it, Thanks.

Either the license files were not transferred or it has to be relicensed.
Remove and then re-install aperture. On an rMBP this should take only a couple of minutes.

Its been awhile since I used iPhoto, but I have done it.
If I recall correctly this is how.
In iPhoto open event that you need to restore the photo to ( the event that originally contained it )
Then open TM it should show that same event and then go back in time until you find the missing shot
Highlight the one you need to restore and tell TM to restore it.

Variable input for the time shift NEXT()

Is there any way to make the parameter on the time shift 'TIME=NEXT(%var%)'
the idea is the user would input/send the value that will be place on the NEXT parameter..
I've tried using the get statement but it doesn't retrieve the values.,..

First you have to create a DM dtsx file then go to modify -> view package file -> advance
disable a standard prompt by using " ' " then replace it using script like this
PROMPT(TEXT,%Dimension%,"Select Dimension",,"") << this prompt could only work on one selection only
under the execute formula logic file place this
TASK(Execute formulas,FORMULASCRIPT,"*FUNCTION LOGICPARAM=%Dimension%|")
Done from here and then save the Dtsx
open your script, and make this additional script
*SELECT (%DimensionID%,"ID","Dimension","[CALC]='N' and [ID]=substring('LOGICPARAM',1,charindex('|' , 'LOGICPARAM')-1)")
and then place that %DimensionID% anywhere on the script. But remember while script run on input schedule can take CV as xdim will not work with this one, you have to make xdim to all dimension in application in your script each time after commit.

Time-shifting on NHL Gamecenter--grayed out for hours?

So I bought my ATV2 and Gamecenter subscription with the hope of time-shifting games. I'm in Alaska, so games start at 3 and 4 in the afternoon. I prefer to watch around 9 pm, or 1 am Eastern time. However, on most nights, as soon as the live feed ends, the games are grayed-out--no longer available--and typically don't become available when I'm ready to watch. I don't know exactly when they actually become available, but most nights they are NOT available by 12 am Alaska time, or 4 am Eastern time. I go to bed, and sometime during the next 7 hours they become available, since they are there when I wake up. Well, 7 am is not a good time to watch a game, and trying to maintain a personal media blackout for the 12 hours so I don't find out the score is virtually impossible. Result--frustrated customer with device not working the way I thought it would.
Anyone else experiencing this "gray-out" period after the game sand any clue why iot is happening?

I think it is normal. They seem to become watchable about 4 hours after the game ends.

Licensing serial number required every time I open Aperture

I have recently purchased a new iMac and transferred my Aperture over to this new computer. Now every time I open Aperture it asks me to enter the licensing serial number before opening the program. How can I stop this from happening?

Time Machine and Aperture 2.0

I just went to restore a backup up my Aperture 2.0 library that I backed up last night, but in time machine it says my Aperture library from last night was 182 MB. In reality, it was over 30 GB! So why is time machine telling me it's so small, and if I revert to that backup, is it going to really restore my library from last night or only 182 MB of it?

Apparently the corruption issue has been fixed, but there are still some bugs with backups while Aperture is open (which Apple has not acknowledged).
I just discovered that by turning off automatic backups and only backing up with Time Machine after quitting Aperture, you can make Aperture and Time Machine work well together. This is still a bug though that needs to be addressed by Apple! If you ever accidentally backup while Aperture is open, Time Machine skips Aperture on that backup, and re-copies the entire library (not just the changes) on the 2nd backup.
I guess this fixes the corruption issue (since Time Machine ignores Aperture when Aperture is open), but it's not good enough to fix the bug by basically disabling Aperture backups while Aperture is running, and not documenting that. Apple made it out like Aperture and Time Machine were supposed to work together under all circumstances (like iPhoto and Time Machine).

Time shift

Hi all,
hope someone can help me with this problem, I'm supposed to perform a time shift for my signal however it does not work..
I have an original signal which I need to do a time shift using DFT (Discrete Fourier Transform)
I had used 1D fourier interpolation.vi to do DFT but 'm not too sure whether this is the right .VI to use. If it is, is there any better .VIs which I can use?
Can someone please help me with this problem, having a time shift by using DFT.

Hi all,
May I know how can I do a simple discrete time fourier transform first? Can amend the program which I had sent out earlier for me to compare at least I know what I had done wrong. I've tried writing a formula manually, used the Interpolate 1D fourier and FFT.vi(s) but it just seems that I'm wrong everytime.
What I understand is, by applying fourier transform signal, I should be getting a frequency response graph. I did get a frequency response graph earlier, however when I calculate it with respect to the values I'd set to perform the operation, it's wrong again.
Please find attached my revised program and your superb advises, a million thank you in advance.

Time shift instructions & dummy variables

hello experts,
i am new to bpc & script logic.(sap nw 7.0 bpc). i am trying to do 'time shift' values of the account dim. i've tried the keywords
(next, prev, base etc) and i've tried the mdx format. (time = [time].currentmember.lag(n)) but i didn't get a result. do you have any other suggestions? what should i do?

Unfortunately there isn't really currently a very good way to do this in script logic. Dzimitry's instructions are probably the easiest approach. A BADI might be your best bet if you need to get fancier than that.
There is another option, which is to use Account Transformation business rules. These let you copy an offset period using the "Period" field. You can specify whatever offset you want (-1, -2, 2, etc.). The only limitation is that it does not work across year-boundaries, at least not in the backwards direction.
If this functionality meets your requirements, I highly recommend using the business rules to do this. In general I recommend going to business rules first, and only then turning to script logic.

Time-shift feature in camera ?

Basically I can't find it. I tried using the camera the other night, in a well-lit room I hasten to add, and it seemed very reluctant to take a picture. Pressing the square thing just caused it to focus the image, and only occasionally would it decide to actually take the picture. Couldn't find an option anywhere in the settings to use the time-shift thing they've been showing off. Also, turning on the flash didn't appear to actually turn it on, just carried on as before using available light, so for some reason was unable to use the flash as well.
Very weird ....

DNG file Issue in Aperture

Until Apple decides to support Nikon D300 NEFs, I am forced to convert NEFs to DNGs (using Adobe Camera Raw 4.3.1) and then import the DNGs into Aperture (I am using version 1.5.6 under Tiger 10.4.11). However, I have just run into a very strange problem that I cannot solve. I had used ACR to remove some camera sensor dust spots on several images before saving the images to DNGs. Then I imported the DNGs into my Aperture projects. However, when I look at the DNGs, none of the changes that I made in ACR appear. In other words, it's like all of the image adjustments made to the NEFs in ACR (and properly saved as DNGs) have been ignored in Aperture when I open the DNGs. To clarify, Aperture is reading the DNGs, but the image adjustments are not there. I cannot figure out what's going on.

Only normally when it's for a camera it already supports. That's because the combination of Mac OS X plus Aperture only supports DNG files that contained the original RAW image data (i.e. not linear DNGs, which have the image data decoded into an intermediate form.)

Apple's "Tech Specs" page for Aperture (as of version 1.5.6, today 28 Dec 2007) still has the footnote "1. DNG files must be generated by the Adobe DNG Converter, with the "Convert to Linear Image" option turned off, and created from RAW formats that are otherwise already supported by Mac OS X 10.4.3 or later."
But it sounds like you're saying that you've successfully got D300 NEF data, encoded into a non-linear form of DNG with the latest Adobe Camera Raw converter, being displayed by Aperture? This is interesting news indeed.

Time shifting and record live stream

Hellow everyone,
I would like to stream videos for my viewers and them have a abiliti to timeshifting live stream.
Can I use live application for timeshifting? Or I should use livepkgr to do that.
For archive and play on the VOD mode I like to stream live and record at same time. in the livepkgr I see in the stream folder create a stream file with the f4f extention automaticaly whoever in the live application I should call application.record on the FMS to save live stream on the server.
Please advise me the better solution to archive and time shifting.

f youjust want to stream over rtmp use live application and code to record the stream...recording is pretty simple in AMS just call Stream.get() s.record(...) s.play() where s is the stream which you are recording...

Thumbnails Re-generated each time I open Aperture

I have all of my pictures on a NAS and not in the vault etc. Every time I open Aperture it re-generates ALL (>10000) of my thumbnails. It shows the thumbnail then it goes to a grey square then has to be re-generated. Why is this happening. I thought this was a pro app - it must realize that some of us have raid 5 storage that is on a network.

Data Synchronizer GroupWise connector time shift problem

I have recently installed the latest 1.2.2 Data Synchronizer Mobility with GroupWise connector, one bug I have found when looking at time stamps of emails sent and received from the connector perspective I am seeing a 20 hrs time shift i.e. from my Android device I send an email to myself at 06:00 May 6 local the time it will show received at 10:00 May 5 also looking at sent time on the device it will say sent at 10:00 May 5. When I look at the GroupWise client or WebAccess sent and received time and date are correct. Conclusion it's only the Data Synchronizer showing time date incorrectly. Any thoughts welcome.

Update - This problem appears to be phone specific it is a Motorola MB525 with Android 2.2.2 we have some HTCs which do NOT have a problem with time zone. Another minor problem is items deleted on the device do not sync up to GroupWise

in a script logic? Use a FOR/NEXT using PRIOR or NEXT, f.e. PRIOR(%MNTH%,%TIME_SET%) depending from the ,%TIME_SET% value, where %MNTH% is the variable of the FOR/NEXT containing the offset value.
