Dng will not open in bridge
I converted arw files from a Sony RX10011 to dng with Photoshop DNG converter successfully,
placing the file in 'My Pictures'. When I open the dng files and try to put them in bridge so as
see the images, bridge puts the files in arw form and can't recognize them. (although tey are dng files
in "MY Pictures). How do I correct this? I can bring images from 'My Pictures" dng file into P.Shop.
What do you mean when you say that Bridge puts them in arw form?

DNG will not open after Maverick osx
After installing Maverick osx, many dng do not open and I get the message:
Could not complete your request because the file format module can not parse the file.
The error occurs randomly on files that have always worked well.
I already tried to reinstall Photoshop CC and Bridge but the problem remains.

If using DNG files only there should no XMP files. With DNG they are written to the image. Only if you edit RAW files should you have XMP files as they contain the edits. -

OK, now that I've gotten sort-of over the hurdle of synching all the pieces associated with a smart object, I've hit the NEXT hurdle (SOs appear to be the usual double-edged sword - kinda handy in a way but rife with pitfalls and hurdles)...
I open a .NEF in Bridge, go into ACR and open the file as a Smart Object in Photoshop. Double-click the layer icon and I'm back in ACR, just like all the demos and seminars I've watched. But, take the SAME .NEF in Bridge and open it as a standard image in Photoshop, then CONVERT it to a smart object, double-click the layer icon and all I get is a .psd and NOT jump into ACR. It does exactly the same thing with a .dng file And from Lightroom OR ACR...
I found an entry from a discussion (not in here, I couldn't find anything about this in here) about CS3 (yes 3), where a user had this problem and was told it's because the original image was opened as a rasterized image, NOT as a Smart Object from ACR... Which isn't making sense to me 'cause who cares what it was way back when, it's NOW a Smart Object and should be treated like one no matter HOW it got there...
Is there some preference or setting or something I need to change in Photoshop so this will work as expected is is there really some restriction about exactly HOW the Smart Object got created? And if so, is there some paragraph is big, bold letters in the documentation that makes it really clear to the uninformed that you MUST open it as a Smart Object or it won't work?
And yes, I KNOW that in ACR I can set it so it defaults to opening as a Smart Object, but like many other PS users I normally use Lightroom and I haven't seen any such default. Which means it's REALLY easy to forget to go down to the Open as Smart Object and instead just hit Open in Photoshop...Listen, buddy, no one has any obligation to answer your questions here in this user to user forum. Lose the attitude.

No, ABSOLUTELY NOT ! You cannot. Period. That's what I said in post #2 of this thread.
ACR will only open and edit Smart Objects that contain raw data. Any image opened in Photoshop —not as a Smart Öbject—is already cooked and contains no raw data any more. Additionally, ACR can edit JPEGs and TIFFs if you set your preferences accordingly, but with much less latitude and functionality than a raw file.
What's more, the cooked Smart Object 's now in the cooked PSB format (a variation of PSD that can handle much larger files than PSD can) so there's no way on Earth ACR can open it.

RAW will not open in Bridge CS3
I cannot open a RAW file in Bridge CS3--there is no "open RAW.." in the menus, the shortcuts do not work. I will only open RAWs in PSCS3. I have the Extended version.
I have tried reseeting the settings in both Bridge and PS. Makes no difference.
Any help would be very appreciated!Have you tried a completely clean install from scratch--OS + CS3?
That will work for sure, but it means starting over with your computer OS install from scratch--a completely clean full format of your disk before starting.
There is obviously something on there that conflicts with it now. The same thing happened to a guy I work with. He tried for two weeks. I had the same problem on one of my machines. I simply started from zero, and so did he. Works perfectly. On my other machine it went right on without a hitch along with the other twenty or so apps that were already on there! Go figure.
Look at it this way, if you want ACR 4 in Bridge, starting over will probably take about one tenth the time you've spent trying to troubleshoot it! -
Adobe Bridge CS6 will not open
Just started trial of Adobe Photoshop CC ( CS6 and Bridge CS 6)
Photoshop downloaded ok but Bridge CS6 will not open after installation.
I have used Adobe Bridge with CS2 before but since removing CS2 and installing CS6 and Adobe Bridge 6 64Bit Adobe Bridge will not open.

watchet7CS2 seems to conflict with CS6. One user found this to work. AppData is a hidden folder in case you try this.
I finally got it to launch via instructions from another web page. In my case, I am running Win 7 Professional 64-bit and previously loaded Photoshop and Bridge versions CS2 (along with Illustrator and InDesign CS2), which might have been part of the problem. The solution for me was to create an empty "Bridge CS2" folder in the C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\. Worked like a charm.
You might have to use the Adobe Script Cleaner to get rid of traces of the CR2 files. -
I purged cache in bridge, and photoshop. NO photos will open when I double clik, or will not open again in ACR alone. When I double clik on raw file I get Sign In required Notice--We will now register your TRIAL to your Adobe ID-------I am alread a SUBSCRIBER-------------Yes I get this same issue in Creative Cloud and same issue. error: Camera Raw editing is not enabled-----Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature. These errors are happening inside both CS6 Bridge and CCphotoshop Bridge------NOTE----I am ALREADY signed into Creative Cloud and still get those message errors.........Need to fix ASAP.
When you sign in to Adobe.com with the user ID and Password your using in the Creative Cloud and Photoshop does this link https://www.adobe.com/account/my-products-services.html show that the account has a subscription?

Adobe bridge cc is not working on my mac snow leopard version 10.6.8. In other words the program will not open, but all other programs i have been able to open just fine

I have quite a few CC products downloaded. Everything has been working fine, but then Bridge stopped opening. I uninstalled Bridge CC and reinstalled and I still can not open the program as a stand alone, or from within Photoshop CC. I click on the application, the icon bounces on the bottom doc and then closes. In Photoshop, I click "browse in Bridge" or "open Mini Bridge"-I get a message, "waiting for Bridg"e and then the program does not open.
I started having a problem when I followed Adobe's directions and tried to add the "Import Workspace ( I was trying to made contact sheets in Bridge) into the approporiate application's folder in Bridge. For some reason, this computer did not like me doing this. On my other mac, (not running maverick), everything (the import panel was successfully added) is fine. I went ahead and unistalled Bridge and reinstalled it on my laptop, but still can not open Bridge.
Before I uninstall and reinstall Bridge CC again, I have a feeling there must be something else I should be doing or checking to see what is going on. Is there a hidden cache? I have just updated all my cc apps and thought maybe there was a bug, but the program still will not open.
I am using mac, Maverick.
Here is a screen shot of the program folders.
Help would be appreciated as the hold time for Adobe is 30 minutes plus.

Ok, 6 hours later it's a fix for me!
Not sure if it'll work for you but it was quite simple.
Open Finder > (go) Computer > Macintosh HD (for me) > Users > Click once on the Home icon (main admin) > Get Info >
click on lock and authorise bottom right > click on cog wheel drop down > click on 'Apply to enclosed items' > OK
Close info window and try to open bridge -

Bridge CS3 Will not open at all
I get the hour glass for about 1/2 second and nothing else. I have looked and the program is there but will not open. I have unistalled are reinstalled everything but it will not open. All the other Design Premium products are working??? Any suggestions?
TheresaTrying to reset preferences of an Adobe application by clicking a Desktop icon has never worked for me - not Bridge, not Photoshop, not any. However, THIS always works for me:
Try this:
1) Press and hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift, and do not release them until I tell you to.
2) Select the following menus: Start => All Programs => Adobe (whatever suite) => Adobe Bridge CS3.
3) You're still holding down the three keys, right?
4) In a few moments, the Reset Settings dialog will appear containing three checkboxes.
5) Finally, release the Ctrl+Alt+Shift.
6) Turn on all three checkboxes and click OK.
People swear by the Ctrl+click icon method, but that has never worked for me.
You can also delete the cache manually:
1) Browse to:
C:\Documents and Settings\{your name}\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge CS3
2) Delete the Cache folder found there. -
Bridge CS5, will not open, "The operation could not be completed"
MacBook Pro 10.6.4, 8 gig ram, plenty of HD space left.
Just got & installed CS5, upgraded from CS2. Also have Photoshop Elements installed with Bridge CS3, this came with my digital camera.
Bridge CS3 works fine, CS5 will not open, the patch has been installed & the program has been reinstalled a couple of times. It just will not open.
This is very frustrating, & I just don't know what to do.

Verified & repaired permissionsOmke, I did you said, & it still will not open. However, I did create a new user & it worked fine there.
I also searched & removed every piece of CS5 bridge software I could fine, & it still will not open, but I did get the error report now.
Looks like I will need to backup my system, then do a clean reinstall with my backup.

Bridge CS5 will not open on new computer
I deactivated ps cs5 on my old computer and used my ps cs5 upgrade disk to install it on my new win 7 ultimate computer. It should be clean install but I did migrate many files from the old win xp computer with windows easy transfer. Bridge will not open and I can not find it listed in my programs. I tried to run my old cs4 upgrade disk and it shows that I have bridge cs4 installed even though I never installed ps cs4 on this machine. Is it possible that some old migrated files are now blocking bridge cs5 from opening? I tried to reset preferences by holding the ctrl key and clicking on bridge but nothing will open. Would this be solved by upgrading to CS6 or will I still have the same issue if bridge cs5 does not open? I tried to run the bridge cs5 update but it will not install. I do not get any error message at any time. Adobe support advisor found an unnamed error but can not recommend a solution.
I ran the creative suite cleaner and removed all files from cs3, cs4. But they are still there listed in c>programfiles (x86)>adobe. I can see adobe bridge cs4 and adobe bridge cs5. when i run bridge.exe from adobe bridge cs5 folder it opens bridge cs5. but i cannot open bridge while ps cs5 is open. I can't seem to delete the cs4 files as it says i need administrator rights, which are somehow not available.
Update: Somehow it did work, even though the cs4 program files are still there. I opened mini bridge from within cs5 and it said something to the effect that it needed to close cs4 bridge and use cs5, i clicked okay and my files were displayed in mini bridge cs5. I closed that and then clicked the bridge icon from within ps cs5 and bridge cs5 opened. I guess I changed the preferences somehow. Thanks for your answer and suggestion, which may well have been the solution or it led me to the correct step. The big point is that I avoided the big reinstall I dreaded after two days of getting cs5 set up with all plug-ins,etc installed. Thanks for your help! -
Bridge CS5 will not open camera raw - but hangs!!
Just installed CS 5 web premium upgrade from CS4 web P - but Bridge CS5 will not open camera raw - it hangs!! - but camera raw can open via Photoshop ext. 64 bit on my Windows 7 pc.

Bent MedvindIn that case I would try resetting Bridge preferences by holding down Ctrl as you start Bridge.
Before that, ensure that there isn't a hidden copy of Bridge running under Task Manager > Processes.
