DNS down, but com.apple.SystemStarter says "available"!

After a power outage, many systems are having problems with DNS. I booted an iMac and in the log I found:

My guess is that the message was meant to say "unavailable". Can anyone clarify this?

How are you connected? Do you have a router that is supposed to supply DNS? Or are you directly connected?

Click on your account name in the top right corner of the iTunes store in the iTunes application on your computer, enter your password and click the "view account" button. Navigate to the Apple ID summary where you have the option to "change country or region".
In order to change your location, you will need a credit card registered to an address in the location you are trying to change to.
You cannot change your location if you have credit on your account, if you are unable to spend your credit and leave a balance of zero, contact Apple, which you can do through iTunes Store Support.

I have purchased apps for my iphone paying for each but now apple are saying i have to pay for them all again before i can download more apps etc why is this

Com.apple.iokit.IOUSBFamily(5.5.5) Kernal Panic

I have been experiancing Kernal panic for about 1 month. Every day when I wake up from sleep.
Please if any of you have a solution that will ACTUALLY work; please please share it here.
I am so tired of macbook pro due to these Kernal Panic. Due to the same error nothing else BUT
com.apple.iokit.IOUSBFamily(5.5.5)
panic is caused by the error above !!!!
Please help me out. I appreciate it.

Micheal, welcome, go to Applications/Utilities and open Disk Utility select your startup volume in the left hand column, then First Aid from the upper tabs and try Repairing Permissions first.
If that does not resolve the issue then boot up from your install DVD( C key held down). After the installer loads select the English arrow and then Disk Utility from the Utilities in the Main Menu. After Disk Utility loads select your OS X volume from the list on the left, click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If any error message are present (In red) run the repair again until no error messages are present. Restart the computer and see if this resolves the issue.
If not then an Archve and Install seems to be the recommended cure all here for the many issues off this update (OS 10.4.10). You are not alone, just checkout the Tiger Installation section.

What does com.apple.cts.plugin do? It seems to be causing high CPU consumption by UserEventAgent

I have been having some trouble over the last couple of days with UserEventAgent process. It constantly consumes over 100% CPU. This of course results in obvious problems of the unit getting really hot, high CPU fan speed and faster battery drain.
While investigating the root cause, I removed each of the plugins (located at /System/Library/UserEventPlugins/) one by one and restarted the UserEventAgent process (if you force quit the process, it restarts) and each time, observed the impact on CPU consumption.
After a while, I was able to zero down on "com.apple.cts.plugin". If I removed this file from the plugins folder and forced UserEventAgent to restart, my CPU usage went back to normal with no excess heat or high-speed fan.
While it seems to solve my problem, I am left wondering what this plugin really does and if by not having it I am putting my system at risk.
Any help would be appreciated.

I learnt this the hard-way as well. I am not too sure but probably it has something to do with cerification authority or something like that. BTW I am looking for the answer as well.

waiting the veneer insert !!
Can anyone assist me with this? It's driving me nuts. All I want is for them to go away.

Looks like a tracking cookie, probably doubling as a phishing tool. My advice: log into all your webmail accounts and change your passwords.
Then, go to the following folders on your Mac, and delete the .plist files you can't readily identify:
~/Library/LaunchAgents (i.e., in your home directory)
/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/StartupItems

However, I keep running into a snag partway through: the group 'com.apple.server.globalSharedAddressBook' seems to not exist anywhere. 'AB Read-Write Groups' shows up just fine (in the /Local/Default group tab) but 'com.apple.server.globalSharedAddressBook' isn't there. I am running this on a Mac Mini (server edition) with Snow Leopard Server running on it. I ran software updater this morning, and it is completely up to date.
Anyone have any idea why that group (which should be there by default by my understanding) is missing, or know how to get it to be there?

Same here on Snow Leopard Server 10.6.4 (upgraded from 10.5.8) on a Mac Pro. Would really like to get a shared address book going as that’s one of the reasons we upgraded to SLS. Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion/Mavericks.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.

HT1430 My I Pad is locked up. I got a message to update my I pad, so I did and everything froze up. I tried holding the sleep button as it says but a slider does not come up to shut it down. The apple symbol just flashes on and off. Any suggestions?

What can I do to unlock my I pad? When I did an apple update it just froze up. As stated above I held down the sleep button and waited for the red slider to tell me to shut it off but the apple symbol just kept blinking at me.
I just bought my I pad in August so it is still under warrenty.

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried that and nothing happened. There is a line going horizontal on the screen with a lock looking thing at the end of the line then there is an arrow that leads up to the I Tunes word and symbol.
I plugged the i pad in and will try what you said again after the battery increases in case the battery was very low.
Do you have any other suggestions?

copy the disc contents to a desktop directory and install from that directory.

1. Try to Create a new user account in Mac with Administrator Priviledges.
2. Login to the New user, Navigate to Mac HD> Application> Utilities> Adobe Installer folder, Locate products like Adobe Reader, Adobe Flash, Adobe Air and un-install them
3. Navigate to User Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
4. Navigate to Mac HD> Library> Application Support> Adobe and move Adobe to Trash.
5. Start the installation again.

You don't need to restart your computer to open Firefox again: you just need to close it manually through your application manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC in Processes tab). Anyway, hopefully this support article is what you need:

What's probably happening is that you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

If new versions of iPhoto and the other iLife applications (iMovie and GarageBand) were purchased by the previous owner from the Mac App Store, then they will be locked to the previous owner's Apple ID and cannot be transferred to you. You will have to re-purchase them under your own Apple ID.
If this is an older MBA that came with Snow Leopard or an earlier version of Mac OS X, though, the system would have come with an installation disk that included the iLife applications, a disk which the seller should have provided to you. Those iLife applications would be older versions, of course, and may or may not work in Lion depending on how old they are.
