DNS errors HH3 flaw

Repeatedly getting DNS errors on my ps3, no other device.
And i have tried EVERYTHING. literally, you name it i have done it, i have searched the far end of the earths for soloutions and they have not fixed it. Funny thing is , it will work for a while, then happened again.
I have changed my Dns servers, port fowarded, DMZ, turned off UPnP (not all at the same time, although i did try that too).
I dont know what to do, if i call up BT and request they send me a hh4/5 as the 3 if faulty?
I had a hh2 and although i did experiance this problem with that time to time, changing dns on ps3 fixed it for the life of hh2.
Its ridiculas, i cannot go an hour without having this issue.

I ran the DNS test (http://www.doxpara.com/?p=1176), on the website of the person who discovered this security hole, and the test indicates that while my ISP has fixed their DNS, my Linksys wireless router (WRT54G) is compromised. Specifically, the test reports:
Your name server, at 68.238.128.37, may be safe, but the NAT/Firewall in front of it appears to be interfering with its port selection policy. The difference between largest port and smallest port was only 50.
I have been unable to located any information on the Linksys site that indicates a plan to release new firmware for Linksys routers. The only links I have found point to Cisco, where the plan is to fix their "heavy iron" routers.
Can someone from Linksys comment on plans to fix the Linksys router firmware base?

  • I can't connect to Internet anymore (WIFI or Ethernet). This was working perfectly before. I don't get a proper IP address from my ADSL box and it seems there is a DNS error when accessing the Internet.

    I have an issue with my MacBook pro (MAC OS X 10.8.3) when trying to access Internet. I am behind an ADSL box (Orange). I have a PC on the same LAN which accesses Internet perfectly via the same Box.
    On the MAC, I have tried WIFI and Ethernet. And have same issue on both. I have checked the IP address (the ADSL box is a DHCP server) but the MAC doesn't get a proper IP and network mask I tried a manual IP address setup and it doesn't get better. I have setup the DNS servers for my Internet provider, but I get DNS error. I have tried 2 Internet browsers (Chrome and Safari), both have the same issue.
    I tried to put my MAC on a different ADSL box (I have 2 acccesses with 2 providers at home) and get the same issue.
    I also noticed a havy CPU load on the mDNSResponder process (at least 30%). I have restarted it, but no improvement.
    Last, I have repared the permissions.
    From those trials, it seems that the problem is on the Mac side. But I am completelly without any new idea, so I need help
    Thanks

    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • WRT54G2 DNS errors when connecting online to PS3... at a loss for ideas...

    Im having dns problems ever since PSN went back online and i cannot connect to the internet with my PS3 or log onto PSN. At first i would get dropped as soon i joined an online game, and it was running very slowly, but now it wont connect at all.
    Wired works perfectly. Wireless wont work.
    If i use automatic setup then the ip address fails.
    If i manually set everything then the ip address passes but the internet connection fails and i get a dns error.
    Signal strength is 100% and i have a Linksys WRT54G2 router. (worked perfect 2+ years until this week)
    I have Roadrunner cable modem.
    I did ipconfig/all and enetered all numbers from there and didnt work.
    I used standard dns like google and such and those didnt work.
    Im seriously at a loss for ideas. Is my router broken? Please can anyone help?

    I don't think it's necessarily your router. I've encountered the same problem on my WRT54GC and I used OpenDNS. But it gave me all sorts of problems with different websites so I had to take it out and use manual DNS. I used all sorts of combinations through until I got 4.2.2.2  to work.
    EDIT: also, try going in to your router's setup page and click Status. Take note of the DNS values and use those in setting up your PS3.

  • While viewing a page I suden get "Oops! This page appears broken. DNS Error - Server cannot be found." However I can back arrow to the page

    I just upgrade to versions 18.0.1. I am suing Window 7 64 bit.
    Now I while I am viewing a page I suddenly receive the error massage "Oops! This page appears broken. DNS Error - Server cannot be found."
    I can use the back arrow key to bring the paper back.
    If I have several tabs open, I can watch one tab after another change from the page name, It doesn't seem to matter who page it is, Yahoo, Washington Post, NBCNews,

    I am not a techie. I keep 15-20 to tabs open at a time for reference while working. When I upgraded to this version, all my tabs were closed and my history was erased. I still have not recovered from that loss. I do not want to have this repeated!
    If I was using pdfforge extension (what ever that is) before the upgrade, why is it venomous now?
    Besides this issue, since upgrading I suddenly starting having the audio from commercials being played from tabs that are not active (open). I now have to leave my audio muted.
    I expected assistance from Firefox not some unknown individual ( iamjayakumars) who for all I know is a troll trying to get me to do something to expose my computer to attack.
    I allowed Firefox to collect data they needed from my computer when I submitted the question.
    Fix the bug in your program! I have used Firefox since it came out. I am within a hairs width of switching browser. The only thing holding me with Firefox is my bookmarks. If I figure out how to export them, I am gone.
    FIX YOUR BROWSER!!!

  • DNS error 404, 407,408 on Server 2008 R2

    Trying migrate an old Server 2003 DC to 2008 DC.  I ran adprep, forest etc on the old domain controller and everything was successful.
    On the first domain controller (Server 2003)  the 1st NIC card has an IP of 192.168.1.2 subnet of 255.255.255.0, gateway of 192.168.1.1 (Router) and DNS of 192.168.1.10.
    On the 2nd card on the same server, the IP is 192.168.1.10, subnet of 255.255.255.0, gateway of 192.168.1.1 and DNS 192.168.1.10.
    When I first tried to promote active directory I received an RPC error.
    I noticed that RRAS was installed on the old domain controller and removed it since it is no longer needed.
    After removing, Active directory successfully transferred and replicated.
    I then went to Transfer the FSMO roles and it transferred successfully.
    After rebooting the 2008 server I now get a DNS error “The DNS server could not open socket for address 192.168.1.9.”, “The DNS server could not bind a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) socket
    to address 192.168.1.9”. “The DNS server could not bind a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) socket to 192.168.1.9.”
    These errors are 404, 407 and 408.  On other programs are running on port 53.
    On active directory I get an event error Event ID2092 ” This server is the owner of the following FSMO role, but does not consider it valid.”
    If I shut down the old 2003 domain controller active directory does not work.
    I cannot connect to Active directory sites and services, users and computers etc.
    The old domain controller resumed the primary FSMO roles.
    What can I do to correct this problem?

    Hi,
    Holding two NICs/IP address is not recommanded on DCs, Mr. Ace got a blog on this, see:
    Multihomed DCs with DNS, RRAS, and/or PPPoE adapters
    http://msmvps.com/blogs/acefekay/archive/2009/08/17/multihomed-dcs-with-dns-rras-and-or-pppoe-adapters.aspx
    If two IP addresses on the old DC are no longer needed, please try to configure into one IP address. We may consider to transfer the FSMO back and once the environment is clean, we can then have all the FSMOs on the new DC.
    Please run DCDiag, NetDiag and Repadmin to check the health of the DCs and the replication and
    Ipconfig /all for the two DCs, If possible, please upload the output into skydrive and post the link here.
    In addition, please check if the following articles could help:
    Event ID 408 — DNS Server Configuration
    Event ID 404 — DNS Server Service Status
    Best regards
    Michael

    No experiences here with that exact combination.
    Something general:
    Make sure access rights on the application support folder are correctly set for the user account that you're using to launch InDesign.
    Run the OSX repair privileges utility.
    Compare the general folder structure to your desktop installation, or the earlier installation (replacing an old hardware?).
    If that fails:
    Launch the application from within Instruments (which comes with the optional installation of developer tools, e.g. XCode)
    Trace file access and watch out for error results.

  • DNS error when launching Application login page after R12 installation

    Hi ,
    I installed R12.0.4 on windows server 2003.
    After installation when I launch the home page, its giving dns error saying that <domainname>.<hostname> cannot be loaded.
    I checked the apache alert log, it is trying to access an IP that is commented out in the host file. I am not sure where it is picking it up from. I installed loopback adapter before the installation and the entries in the host file also seem fine. Please help me out, this is the 2nd installation but the issue is still not resolved. Please let me know if you need anymore details.
    Thanks !

    Hi Dharmshila,
    Since you were not able to access the application URL using the IP Address then I believe it is an issue with the application/database services. To verify that all application services are up and running properly, please do the following:
    - Open a new DOS session
    - cd %INST_TOP%\apps\<SID>_<hostname>\admin\scripts
    - Issue "adopmnctl.sh status"
    - You should get something similar to the following:
    Checking status of OPMN managed processes...
    Processes in Instance: PROD_db2.db2.domain.com
    -------------------+--------------------+---------+---------
    ias-component      | process-type       |     pid | status

  • Forms/4GL Tutorial Returns Cannot find server or DNS Error

    Hi:
    I am trying to plow through this tutorial (10.1.3.1.0) and when I run the SRList.jpsx page I receive the error: Cannot find server or DNS Error. The URL produced by JDeveloper is:
    http://192.168.99.36:8988/SRTutorialADFBC-UserInterface-context-root/faces/app/SRList.jspx.
    Any suggestions?
    I've culled the forums and the Web, and cannot find a match. The only nugget that I can add is that I'm using JDeveloper with the OA Framework extension. I have been successful creating pages with OA Framework and executing them. Is there some incompatibility with OA Framework and ADF?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Mchrist,
    You cannot use the OA Framework download to develop ADF apps.
    I would create two batch/command files: in each one, set JDEV_USER_DIR and any other environment variables to point to a proper place and run the JDeveloper.
    Just unzip JDev and OA Framework to separate locations and ensure that the user directory for each is in a separate location as well.

  • DNS Error on OS X

    When I click the space bar to unsleep the computer, My network connection says all green lights, but I keep getting DNS errors until I restart my wireless connection.  The delay is about a minute.  Any ideas?

    What you to do is to pick up the telephone and call AppleCare, you have 90 days of free AppleCare telephone support with a new Mac. I'm not sure where you are located but if you use the link below you will be able to find the telephone number for your country.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
    Please post back with the results and if you have not already bought AppleCare I'd strongly recommend you do. The AppleCare rep can tell you what the advantages of it are or you can read up on it at:

  • Crazy IE / DNS error

    Greetings
    I have a jsp page that contains a table. This table is about 24 columns in some "cells" there are text labels. In some cells there are numbers. I have a Collection (ArrayList) of DTO's in session and I use an iterator tag to run through them and display each DTO using bean: write tags.
    Pretty straight forward, works perfect in Firefox. My boss ran it in IE and there was a problem.
    You start out on a launch page where you type in a batchID (what you want to display). Then click on submit and it loads up the collection and sends you to main.jsp. In ie instead of main.jsp coming up it give a DNS error. This happens both on the server and when run locally.
    I took main.jsp apart and added back items one column at a time until the error reappeared. I use many statements like the following throughout the code:
    <fmt:formatNumber type="number" pattern="###,###,###">
    <bean:write name="line" property="tier2MonthlyRate" />
    </fmt:formatNumber>
    and it seems to work perfectly. When I got to the last 2 columns I started getting the DNS error. The last 2 columns as I wrote them are:
    <td><fmt:formatNumber type="number" pattern="###,###,###"><bean:write name="line" property="psTier1Increment" /></fmt:formatNumber></td>
    <td><fmt:formatNumber type="number" pattern="###,###,###"><bean:write name="line" property="psTier2Increment" /></fmt:formatNumber></td>
    These cause an error only in IE and it is a DNS error.
    I rewrote them as:
    <bean:define id="psTier1Increment" name="line" property="psTier1Increment"></bean:define>
    <bean:define id="psTier2Increment" name="line" property="psTier2Increment"></bean:define>
    <%
    DecimalFormat myFormatter = new DecimalFormat("###,###");
    String output1 = myFormatter.format(psTier1Increment);
    String output2 = myFormatter.format(psTier2Increment);
    %>
    <%=output1%>
    </td>
    <td>
    <%=output2%>
    </td>
    And it works.
    Has anyone heard of anything similar to this or can anyone point me in any direction?
    there are NO errors in my OC4J window, and I am on 10.1.2
    This is really frustrating and I HATE having this ugly code to format these last 2 numbers.
    Thanks
    Troy

    Greetings,
    I have a bit more information. I fired up my protocol analyser and I see something odd. In my headers I am getting TONS of "Content-Language: en-US" does every fmt tag output one of these? If so how can i stop it? Does anyone here know what would cause so many of these to be put into the header?
    Thanks
    troy

  • DNS Error

    Timeport DNS error showed up upon my return from vacation. How to resolve? Is there concern of virus, spyware, etc?

    What is the model no of the router ?
    Who is your Internet Service Provider ?
    If you are getting the DNS error on the PS3 then,assign the static DNS on PS3..Login into the router's setup page and click on status tab...Note down the DNS1 and DNS2 and assign these DNS's to the PS3.
