DNS late Response
Hi guys. I published my Wordpress blog pakread.com using Microsoft Azure.
Linked my custom domain using GoDaddy.
Problem is that DNS response is slow as u can check. I don't know why ?
In past i linked a published a simple HTML static site on azure with custom domain but i didn't faced this problem at all.
Any suggestions to optimize it are highly needed.

Late response from a sap web service or timeout
Hi,
I have developed a function module an exposed it as web service. The consumer developed by the partner is a java client. Every request for the ws lasts 18 seconds. The response time is unacceptable. I have developed a .net client and called the ws. the first call lasts nearly as long as the java client but the repsonse time for successive calls is very short.
How can I get the responses faster with the java client?

I suppose you're using CFINVOKE (http://www.activsoftware.com/code_samples/code.cfm/CodeID/44/ColdFusion/Invoking_SOAP_Web_Services_with_ColdFusion_MX_CFINVOKE_Tag) or are you using a third party tool like CFX_SOAP (http://www.activsoftware.com/products/productdetail.cfm/id/1015)?
Are you working with WebAS 6.4 or 6.2?

The WSDL generated by this method is more standard than the one generated when you just Remote enable an FM and look at the webservice browser.
Th core of CF MX is Java and that engine is rather strict in standards.

DNS server responses extremely slow
I set up the DNS Server running on my LAN (authoritative for a fully-owned domain), and I do believe it's correctly set up - reverse mapping works fine, no error messages in the logs or while watching tcpdump, etc. It's behind my NAT/Firewall, is set to be recursive (but I have not tweaked it to make it recursive only for the subnet). My problem is with the performance. Using this internal DNS server to provide DNS for my client machines on the LAN, internet lookups are awfully slow - perhaps five to ten seconds to bring up a major site. Leaving everything else the same on a client machine, and removing the references to the internal DNS server - thus using my ISP's DNS servers outside my LAN - the same site can by fully up in one second.
Is this major lag in performance simply caused by the fact that the ISP's DNS server is so often caching many many more sites than I could ever request from my own LAN? Or should I be looking for something specific to hunt down perfformance problems?If your server is stand-alone, you can run without internal DNS.
If OD Master, you also can run without internal DNS but config of course needs to be correct. Many people say it's best to run with internal DNS, but it's not a requirement.
One reason to run internal DNS..
If you connect to your server by fqdn (host.domain.com).
Without internal DNS, the client will connect to the public IP (wan side of your router). If your router supports loopback, this will work- if it doesn't support loopback it won't work. Even if it does work, you are forcing your client-server traffic to be processed (NAT) by the router, incredibly inneficient (although a simple config for basic requirements). If you're moving big files with AFP, you don't want all traffic to go from client-router(NAT)-server-router(NAT)client. You can get around this by connecting using .local or IP addresses. So this all depends on your config, requirements, habits of the users, etc.

Hi!
I've been having problems lately about my network. I cannot find any connections on my computer, and I have to use an ethernet cable to connect and use the WiFi. The trouble shooter told me to plug the ethernet cable in and try if it works, but later on
it tells me that my computer is configurated correctly and the device or dns server isnt responding.
Now i have searched up some things, and to fix the dns server response you have to type ncap.cpl and click on the wifi connection. After that you go to properties and enter in the dns address code.(208.67.222.222)
Can anyone help me?The Problem is,
i can only see the ethernet connection section.If i plug my ethernet cable out of my computer I cant connect to anything, and I dont know how to fix this and connect to my wireless wifi.

Running this router for 2 years without any problems (even on Windows7 since las year), recently it won't let me conect to the internet, Network and Sharing Center say that the pc's configuration are alright but no DNS Server response is present.
(Windows 7 Ultimate x86 RTM, Bellsouth/AT&T ISP in Florida, US. DSL conexion, brand new ethernet cables and hardware kept in the best shape, Network Adapter: Realtek RTL8102E/RTL8103 Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)(v7.2)

What I tried:
Resetting the router and/or modem (connected to a Westell 6100), setting both to default settings over and over (Web based reset and reset buttons)
IP Flushing in CMD
Getting to the web based configuration for my WRT54GS v6, releasing DCHP, renewing, default settings, etc...
Upgrading firmware to v1.52.7 (latest) to no avail, going back to original 1.52.6.
Device manager shows hardware working properly.
Windows 7 shows me a link to look at the properties of my WRT54GS, when I right click on it, I can also see the option "Enable", but everytime I use it I get "Connection Failed!"

I'm not much of a tech guy, and reading the forum didn't help me much, so I'm asking for some help please.
Ps: Installed default CD for it with its old EasyLink Advisor to no avail, also tried the latest Lela 2 EasyLink Advisor to no avail.
Also, there was no Default Gateway looking at an IPCONFIG in CMD, and now there is (192.168.1.1), which I use to get into its web based configuration.

Go to Solution.As your ISP is an DSL provider, Most of the DSL Modem has a DHCP on them, so they acts like an Router. So right now you connection type is NAT behind NAT.
To make your Linksys Router work with an DSL Modem. Login to the Linksys Router setup page and below the setup tab you need to change the "Local IP Address" to 192.168.2.1 and click on Save Settings...
Once the settings are saved, unplug the power from Router and Modem, wait for 30sec and then plug the power to the Modem and once all the lights are lid then you can plug the power to the Router and check if you are Online. -
Link to view responses bringing up error message
My customer is encountering an error message when they click on teh link to view the response table.
The error message reads 'That URL is not in the corect format for an Acrobat.com document link'
The link works for me but they encounter this message each time?Sorry for the late response. I am not sure if you still have this issue. What I have seen in the past is that the text ofr the link and the associated url to that text in a email do not match. You might want to send the link that works for you again to your customer.

I want to change over to the unlimited data plan. Right now I have a feature phone with the $10/25MB month plan. Is it too late to change if I'm going to switch online? I wanted to get a pre-owned iphone but I didn't know if I ordered one today or tommorrow and changed the plan(which you have to do anyway) would I be grandfathered into the unlimited plan or does it take effect when you physically activate the phone. If that's the case I guess I'll have to go to the verizon store tommorrow and get a brand new iphone.(the phone online wouldn't get here until Thursday or Friday) Does anyone know? Indented responses only if not logged in.
I notice that if I am logged in, all replies in a thread are aligned with the left hand margin (using latest Safari).
If I am NOT logged in, a person's response is indented to the right and a response to that is further indented to the right, indicating visually to whom you are responding to.

I had never noticed that pulldown before. Interesting that "Flat" was chosen by default when I set up the account but "Tree View" seems to be selected for people who haven't logged on to use.
Anyway, I am happy to have my choice now.
Actually it was "Threaded" that gave me the effect I wanted, with each reply indented but readable. "Tree View" gave me indented subject lines for each later response without showing me the actual responses. But the clue to how to select was the key I needed. -
IPlanet-WebServer-Enterprise/6.0SP5 no response frequently
Recently iPlanet has no response frequently, check the errors log, sometime it has this error,

and sometimes, no error at all.
Please help.It might be a late response but the reason you see Browser's default 404 page is IE has a check for 404 page and if this new error page you configured is less that 512 bytes IE will display its own default 404 page.
The solution for your problem is to have your custom page to be bigger than 512 bytes. -
I was running Wireshark (checking something else) and noticed that every 90 seconds there is a DNS request/response for www.adobe.com. The requests continue withour Adobe Reader running. Two things puzzle me: What is doing it? Why is it doing it?
Normally following a DNS request you would expect to see some sort of activity at the TCP or UDP level to the resolved address, but here there is none.
AKGood suggestion, but all it can tell me is what makes the dns request - lookupd - it doesn't say what process asked it to make the request.
I had already turned off Adobe Reader, without stopping the requests, so I tried Mail, which also had no effect. Next went Safari, and the requests stopped, and restarting Safari didn't restart them, at least not so far.

Long database response time during hot backup
Hello,
We are running Oracle 10g R2 on AIX 5.3. Our database is approximately 20G in size.
Our users are running applications which are highly sensitive to database response times. So any significant delay in database response time(say about more than 5 seconds) has serious impact on the user applications.
Everyday we take online backups using RMAN and we recently discovered that during the online backup process we are experiencing a serious performance problems at certain periods. For example a typical query which normally takes ~0.5 secods for database to respond takes about >30 seconds for several times during the process. to observe the problem more clearly we also wrote some test scripts which make random queries to the database to measure any delays in response times, and seen that we are getting late responses at several occasions(which normally never happen even when we run the script for a day without running RMAN online backup).
We have gone through IBM's whitepaper on "Tuning AIX for Oracle" and seen that there isn't any misconfiguration that would have bad impact on oracle performance on the AIX side.

We normally take our backups to tape drive. In order to test for any I/O bottlenecks we experimented by taking the backups to the disk drive. We have tried DURATION and MINIMIZE LOAD parameters, and also tried setting the RATE parameter to very low values(about 2M/s which normally reaches to about 100M/s) which resulted in total elapsed time for backups to increase from 30 mins to about 4-5 hours. And we came to find out that there is no improvement about the issue in any of these scenarios.
Also we ran the ADDM reports which claimed I/O bottleneck with about 20% impact on the system, so we tried decreasing I/O using the RATE parameter and then ADDM said "low I/O bottleneck".
Database responsiveness is a vital for our system. What measures can we take to avoid such slowness?

Isn't there anything we can do about it? the application software is working almost real-time with the database and cannot tolerate long delays(with which I mean something longer than 5 seconds) due to the nature of the the system.
I wonder if there are any other methods to decrease the online backup load on the system.

Im trying to deploy a reference machine (configured) to other machines (exact or close image) with different hardware.
I have successfully used sysprep in out of the box, generalise, shutdown mode although i havent tried to deploy this to another device. Unfortunately it doesnt copy the profile to default.
I understand that I have to create an answer file using image manager based on that image, save it to a usb drive and attach this in the sysprep command line when sysprepping it.
My problem is I dont know how to easily capture an image of windows 8 into a wim file so that i can add this into image manager to create a answer file. Im also not sure what I have to do in image manager, is it a simple matter of creating and saving
the answer file or do i have to configure it to copy the profile specifically (theres only one account anyhow).
I also want to know if i have to attach the drivers or are all the standard drivers put into the sysprep image as standard. I would like the machine to be an exactly replica, same as doing a clone (but with the drivers for the new machine installed
so it will boot) same as doing a clone and then repair? If thats possible.
Any specific instructions on this would be helpful. I have read the microsft links but they are somewhat confusing.I know this is a very late response but I thought I'd post for others who search.

Problem with Remote Access VPN on ASA 5505
I am currently having an issue configuring an ASA 5505 to connect via remote access VPN using the Cisco VPN Client 5.0.07.0440 running on Windows 8 Pro x64. The VPN client prompts for the username and password during the connect process, but fails soon after.

Use of bookmarks of resources which are located behind a S-to-S VPN
Hi there,
I was wondering if i can create (a) bookmark(s) of resources which are located behind a particular Site-to-Site VPN?
We are using a Cisco ASA 5510 (9.0.2) with SSL VPN configured. The tunnel is up but when i try the bookmark, i get the error "server unavailable".
Can someone put my in the right direction? I'm rather new at this stuff...

My apologies for my late response.
I'm using a clientless SSL VPN connection. I'm not using any DNS servers, just IP addresses for now to get this up and running.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by tunneling everything in this context.

Edit: When i try to ping the destination from the Cisco ASA, the traffic is routed to internet. The subnet 192.168.177.0/24 belongs to the remote site.
