DNSDHCP-Management-Console and clustered DHCP

Hi,
(following belongs to OES11SP2 & the with this version delivered
DNSDHCP-Console.)
I am running a DHCP-Service on two cluster nodes.
The subnet config is already done in the eDir from an old OES2SP3
DHCP-Server.
The service runs fine one the cluster nodes but die DHCP-Server icon at
the bottom of the console window has a red X.
I am not sure if I could belive that there are not errors.
If the server has no subnet assigned this icon show a server with an
red cross and an empty box. If the subnet is assigned the icon show a
server with an red cross and an @-Sign insteed the empty box.
What should I check? Any hints?

    hai
can u please any one of you can send me the services in SAP management console and related window services(in adminstrator/services) and process in task manager.
    thanks in advance.
    Naga Laxmi

    Hi Naga,
Please refer to this article for the processes relevant to the Java Instance:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/62/1bf03eae11e16be10000000a114084/frameset.htm
Except the processes of the Java instance you can find several processes of the IGS server and the ABAP disp+work processes.
You can easily find the relevant services by their SAP prefix.
    Hope this helps.

  • SAP Management Console and Services

    Good morning everyone,
I am trying to understand more about the services used by the SAP System, the order in which they are / need to be started.
First I have a precise question regarding what appears to be, to me, as a discrepancy between the SAP Management Console and The Services Console.
At the moment I have a Server with the SAP System stopped. It shows the correct information in the SAP Management Console but when I look at the Services Console the following services show as started:
    SAPOsCol, SAPPRD_00 & SAPPRD_01
    SAPCCMSR.01 & SAPCCMSR.11 are set to manual
Has anyone got an explanation on why different info are displayed in both console?
Also, is there a way of checking if the SAP Services are running without going through any interface (Management Console)?
    Finally,
In the Services Console the SAPOsCol, SAPPRD_00 & SAPPRD_01 services are set to automatic but when we restart the Server the services do not restart automatically even so they show as starter. Can anyone give me direction on what I need to check or change for these to start properly?
    Thank you
    Corinne

    Corinne,
The Services SAPOsCol, SAPPRD_00 & SAPPRD_01 started doesnot mean that SAP is up. So even if you stop SAP through MMC it will show these services as started. These Services denote whether the Instance PRD_00 and PRD_01 are enabled in MMC. So if you stop these services, you wont be able to start SAP through MMC.
SAPCCMSR.01 & SAPCCMSR.11 are set to manual --  These are optional CCMS Agents , so they are set to manual. If you need them you can change them to Automatic
SAPOsCol, SAPPRD_00 & SAPPRD_01 are set to automatic. This should mean that they get strated with the start of OS during a reboot. If they are not getting started there is some issue.
    Hope this helps!
    Reward points if useful!!!
    Cheers!

  • Error HTTP Status 500 after installing DS Management Console and IPS Services on BI Enterprise Server

    The following error

    Hi,
If you can't see the login screen of the CMC then it's a problem of webapps and not EIM services.
Try cleaning the Tomcat cache for the BOE webapps and let Tomcat re cache it.  Often it does the job.
    - Stop Tomcat
    - Rename the BOE folder to BOE-OLD in C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\tomcat\work\Catalina\localhost\
    - Start Tomcat
When the Tomcat process in task manager is done working (it can take 10-20 min+) then try again.
When you're done, you can delete the BOE-OLD folder.
    Let me know!

  • Solaris Management Console and root pasword

I upgraded to Solaris 10 last night and tried to perform some admin work to user accounts, using Solaris Management Console. When performing the task, Solaris wants to verify user and password, the root password fails. The root pasword is correct because it let me login as root. Solaris Management Console rejects all passwords for verification. Help me please.

Thanks for your help. I updated my root password from 4 charcters to 4charcters + 4 numerals , still SMC will not let me in. I updated 2 machines and both allow me to login as root (GUI) but SMC wants to confirm the password and will not let me in.
I have reinstalled (initialized rather than upgrade) Solaris 10 on one machine (Ultra60) , that machine now works fine. It allows me to login as root(GUI) ans the SMC accepts my root password
The machines are an Ultra10 and an Ultra60.
I choose to upgrade rather than a new install because of to much info to rebuild.

  • Solaris Management Console and X86 Disk

    Greetings,
I am trying to use the Solaris Management Console to manage the 2 disks I have in my Intel PC. Both disk are allocated 100% to Solaris 10 and were formatted and partitioned by the installation program.
Why is it that when I use the Management Console it tells me that there is no Solaris FDISK partition and that I cannot manage the disk until I put a Solaris FDISK partition on them? It doesn't seem like the tool is all that useful if it cannot use the default format put on the disk by the install program.
On related note, why is it that auto layout during install creates partitions that are barely large enough to hold the OS? From what I can see it puts the bulk of the disk space into home for user home directories but this creates a problem when trying to install additional SW such as StarOffice.
    Cheers

  • Eterprise manager console and ssl

I have Oracle Application Server 10g infrastructure and midtier on the same machine. I want to secure enterprise manager console by "emctl secure em". Is there any way to use certificate from CA which i have used to secure httpd. "emctl secure em" generates its own certificates.

    OS, Db version?
Make sure you cancel your previous installs and no process hanging before new install.
What’s using port 5500? is it the previous install or some other application.
For EM Oracle tries to use port [1158, 5500, 5501, 5502] in that order
Looks like that’s your 2nd EM hence there is one on 1158.
Check, to see anything installed yet:
    /opt/oracle/product/10.2.0/install/portlist.iniHope it helps.

I take it you are running the JRockit you wish to monitor on a Linux system? On some network configurations (where the machine is not in DNS, or rather when it's host name does not correspond to the DNS name) you will have to set the system property java.rmi.server.hostname to the IP-address of the interface you will be communicating with.

  • Solaris Management Console and Split Backplane

I have installed a split backplane with single-loop configuration on a V890 server. I have setup the FC using the installation documentation. I have 12 disks attached and they are showing up 0-11 when I use the format command.
    When I try to use the SMC, I get the following error;
'Attempt to get a list of all disks failed with unexpected error: null'
I cannot see the disks using 'Disks' or 'Expansion Storage' under the console.
I know there is a patch for the SMC 2.1, but in the patch description, there is no mention of this as being one of the fixes.
Until I get SMC to see the disks I cannot raid them.
Any and all assistance on this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

You may not get an answer here, as this forum is for "Sun Management Center": a different product. Curse Sun for recycling acronyms! :)
Still, if you have a v890 you should really be running Sun Management Center as well, at least to get all the good hardware monitoring bits out of it.

    Hi,
    Could
you please  add a new public folder hierarchies with ADSIEdit as following setups.
For how to use ADSIEdit ,you can access:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc773354(WS.10).aspx
1.Run ADSIEdit, right click Exchange Administrative Group under “Configuration \ services \ Microsoft
Exchange \ Organization name \ Administrative groups”.
    2.Select New Object.
3.Select msExchPublicFolderTreeContainer for the class and click Next.
4.Enter the following for the value:
    Folder Hierarchies, click Next.
    5.Click Finish.
    6.Create
    Public Folder Tree Object.
    7.Right click CN=Folder Hierarchies -> New Object.
    8.Selected msExchPFTree for the class.
9.For the value we entered, "Public Folders" and clicked next.
10.Clicked on the "More Attributes" button, selected msExchPFTreeType .
    11.Set the value
    to 1.
Note: This is very important that this value is set
to a value of 1 as This tells Exchange that this is a MAPI Tree.
    12.Click Ok and then finish.
    13.We then went
to the properties of the newly created "Public Folders" Tree object in
    ADSIEdit.
    14.Copy the distinguished name value
to the clipboard and then click cancel.
    15.Navigate
to the Storage group that contains the Public
Folder Store for this server and get properties of the server.
16.Locate the msExchOwningPFTree attribute and paste in the value that was copied
from the Public folders Distinguish name attribute.
    17.Restart the Information Store Service.
18.Mounted and dismount the PF store.
19.Open Outlook with administrator, give full permission to default owner.
    Hope it can help you!

  • Java Management console DNSDHCP

    Hi All,
Have a new OES 11 SP2 -SLES11 SP3 with latest patches. Configure the DNS server with management console and all was working fine until last updates ( can't tell which update).
The management console does not show my DNS server and entries. DHCP side of things are working. Novell-named starts with out errors and all previous DNS entries are working but now the only DNS that shows up are the root entries. Can't manage DNS and need this fixed.

    4) From imanager update DNS-DHCP locator to include new DNS server by adding the Attribute/s
    5) remove all files from /etc/opt/novell/named
    6) restart novell-named.
    Done.
Hmm.... I wonder if that is just working around the problem. What I would look for is multiple DNSDHCP locator objects in the tree. Sounds like you just repointed to the correct one, but you still may have a second, rogue dnsdhcp locator object in your tree.

Is this a DSfW server? Because on a DSfW server you have to use port
1636 instead of 636 to connect to the Edir side of the server.
Don't try to use port 389 (or 1389 on a DSfW server) as this does only
work on servers which are specifically configured to allow that.

My dhcp-server is on oes2 sp3 / sles 10 sp3 and i am trying to set it up for viewing dynamic leases in the DNS/DHCP Management Console.
I am following TID 7006450 and right away i get stuck.
    From the TID
    1. Launch the DNS/DHCP management console and login to the server
    2. Click on the 'DHCP (OES Linux) tab toward the top of the console
    3. Find the DHCP Server object at the bottom of the console and select it
    4. Toward the top-right hand side of the console select the GENERAL tab and find the section called DHCP SERVER
---- There is no section called DHCP SERVER only Services
    5. Click the ADD button and enter the IP address of the DHCP server
NOTE: If doing this step on OES 2 SP 2 the buttons may be greyed out. This is due to the schema not being extended. This option is officially supported on OES 2 SP 3
---- There is no ADD button
    6. Click on the SAVE button toward the top, left-hand side of the console (looks like a floppy disk)

someone provide some insight into this error?
    Thanks

    Jeff

I did that as well, but it doesn't change the error message beyond the IP address which is refusing the connection:
Could not open Management Console for testfix.dhcp.isgenesis.com.
