Do AATC's get a free copy of Apple Remote Desktop?

I work at an AATC and I wanted to use Apple Remote Desktop in the classroom. They use to have a copy on ASW for download but I can't find it anymore.
Does anyone have any information on how I can get it?

With ARD now only available from the Mac App Store, there's almost certainly a different mechanism to download, if they still make it available to AATCs at no charge. You'll need to contact Apple AATC support and inquire.

The Library is a cable internet Lenova PC. Next year I will be at a different location and will have Mediacom's internet and this problem will go away. Overage charges for Verizon are $20/1 GB over the limit (better than ATT was which would simply cut you off at the limit.)

Can't get Apple Remote Desktop to work

I cannot get apple remote desktop to recognize my lab computers. It only recognizes one in there and all the info is the same on the others. It sees them but it says they are offline when I have them all on and ready. I did an update to make sure they were up to speed. I am running ARD 3.5.2 on mine and 3.5.2 on the snow leopard macs and there are some just leopard macs in there running 3.4.

Sorry, but no, ARD does not have a "remote printing" feature. You can use ARD to copy a file to a remote Mac and than take control of that Mac to print the document, but you cannot print directly to the remote Mac (unless someone else here knows a trick I've not discovered).
Depending on how your wife's company has things set up in their connection to the Internet, she may be able to just set up printer sharing on the work computer and print directly without needing ARD at all. A utility such as Slink may make that easier:

Copying items in Apple Remote Desktop

According to the manual, you should be able to copy items between the local and remote computer, either by dragging or by selecting "Copy Items" button.
But each time I try, it gave me an error message saying the "This task is not supported on the remote computer" or "Copying to this computer: Failed on all"

Yes, you have to enable copying on the client Mac by going to System Preferences, selecting Sharing and clicking the Services tab. Select Apple Remote Desktop from the list and click the Access Priveleges button (authenticating first if required). Then check the Copy Items box.

The Client is built into all OSX base software so there is no download. It's the Admin (controller) software that is downloaded

How do I get my free copy of Mountain Lion?

I'm a very excited Apple customer because I received my MacBook Pro (Retina Display) today! Now that I have it, I would like to download my free copy of Mountain Lion! The only issue is, when I went to the website to enter in the purchase date, etc., I cannot proceed. I bought it online through the Apple Education Store, so I'm wondering (and this may be a simple question), but would that be considered an Apple Reseller (since I bought it through my school) or would the purchase be considered to be through the Apple Online Store? Thanks for helping me with this seemingly simple problem!

Congratulations on a sweet machine! I will eventually upgrade to Mountain Lion, but not until 2 or 3 months have passed to shake out the glitches, etc. that are invariably in a new product with this much complexity.
As to your question, I scanned this "community" yesterday and recall coming upon another Retina owner who was bemoaning the fact that he was still waiting for his email from Apple that would allow him to download his free upgrade to Mt. Lion.
Now, I have not done actual research into your situation, but thought I would pass along my findings of yesterday. Try searching in the forum for related postings. Good luck, and have fun with that Retina display!!

Right. That's how the system is designed. Each session is protected from
all of the other sessions, and each has its own set of devices and drivers.
You aren't allowed to access the real system display devices from a remote
desktop session.

When will i get my free copy?

I bought a MacBook Pro Retina Display and I am still waiting for my OS X Mountain Lion.
I have applied for it but when paying £2000 for a laptop I expect the promises they give to be followed through with.

I believe the promise is 'within 72 hours' of applying. Bear in mind that demand will be high and everybody will be busting a gut to get them answered, so they may take you right up to the limit.

Where do I input my code for redeeming free copy of Mountain Lion? I have received it (with this secure pdf file) but in Mac App Store see only function "Buy". Where do I input this code to get my free copy?

Anyone also knows why this update is so ridiculously weird? Snap your bill, send us picture - looks so in contrary to Apple's core principle of simplicity! I'm very disappointed.

My guess would be to open the AppStore, then in the QuickLinks panel on the right of the first screen you should be able to choose Redeem to redeem a code.
