I've restarted the phone and itunes several times, have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the phone and itunes separately, and it still just shows 'Installing" under the greyed out app.

I have the same problem with an iPhone 5s. All podcast fail to work on the phone since updating to iOS 8.1.3. What is going on? Is Apple taking this problem serious?

You need to log into iCloud with your Apple ID under Settings->iCloud to Turn on Find my iPhone for each iPhone.
With that done, you can use the App on each iPhone to find the other. You do not need to go to iCloud.com. But you do need to log into the App with the Apple ID you used to log into iCloud in settings.
You cannot use the App without turning on Find My iPhone in Settings on each iPhone, and you cannot do that without logging into iCloud.

A week ago, all the apps on my iphone (bought in started shutting down after a few seconds of opening them (I need to write an SMSor email really fast and my Tom Tom can't really get me anywhere as the app only stays open a few seconds.)
Since then my battery goes flat with -in hours of changing.
I took out the Apple care plan - they came to get it and 2 days later they sent it back saying they could find any problems with it – according to their tests all is fine. I got home and re synced only to find that it STILL closes down all the time.
I am terribly frustrated...a friend wondered if it wasn’t simply a display setting which is set to do this...but I cannot find any such setting...please please help

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Apart from a few that require, for example, full phone capability yes (and as long as you have the appropriate iOS version installed on your iPad).
If the apps are universal apps (indicated by a '+' symbol against them in the App Store) then there is one version of the app which has processing within it which recognises the device that it is on and will configure the display accordingly - so they should make full use of the iPad's larger screen.
If the app is only designed for the iPhone/iPod Touch then it will still work on the iPad but it will just take up an iPhone sized portion of the screen, unless you press the '2x' button which will appear on the screen which will effectively double the size of each pixel in both directions (so therefore may appear pixelated).

I have ios 5.1.1. When I sync to iTunes, my purchased apps no longer work. They blink but do not open. The only way I have been able to solve this, is as follows: I delete one of the apps and then re-download and install it. Then, all my apps work.

You mentioned you used the Cleaner Tool to uninstall everything, but still have Adobe App Manager (AAM) installed? Please try running the Cleaner Tool again (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6)
Remove all CC files and be sure to uninstall AAM.
Then download the CC Desktop App here: https://creative.adobe.com/products/download/creative-cloud
After you launch the desktop app, use the Apps panel to install the programs you need.

IPhone app works except for Device-Release

Hey all, Hope you might have some pointers for me.
My app works great in the simulator in Release or Debug modes, no warnings, no errors, no failures. It works on the device in Debug mode, but once i set it for Device|Release, It fails immediately. On the device, it just goes back to the launcher, but when run from XCode, the error displayed is "GDB: Program received signal: EXCBADACCESS". I checked for leaks and such, but it doesn't seem to have any.
As far as I know, I check all class pointers before I use them, so I'm at a loss on this one.
Can anyone suggest anything to look at?

I figured out what the problem was. Here's what I needed to do to fix it... it's actually quite simple. I'll document it all here for the next time someone is in this situation
Bring up the project info
Select the build tab
search on "Code Sign"
For "Code Signing Identity", click the triangle to expand its children out.
the label on the left should read "Any iPhone OS" (*)
For the Value, use the value you've used in the past. (For me, for some reason it's "iPhone Developer".
(*) On mine, this was set for "simulator". I'm not sure how i've run code previous to this. This app started out as a Touch Utility, perhaps that's where the difference came in.
