Do all MacBook Air have lightup keyboard

Do all MacBook airs have lighted keyboards

They do not!
I recall at least one model that did not have a lighted keyboard.

Contrary to what Geeks on Hugs is telling you, Mac OS X does indeed have a basic malware scanner. It is not a feature that is directly accessible to the user, and works a bit differently than every other malware scanner out there. Gatekeeper, which has been mentioned here, is entirely separate, and provides a different method for helping to protect you against malware.
The anti-malware scanner in Mac OS X is called XProtect. When you download an application (or any other kind of executable code), it is automatically "quarantined," so that when you open it you're asked if you really want to do that. I'm sure you're very familiar with this aspect of Mac OS X if you have ever downloaded any apps from outside the App Store. What you don't know, though, is that each time you try to open a new app, that app is checked by XProtect. If it is identified as malware, you will not be allowed to open it, and will be warned that it's malware.
At this time, there is no known malware that can infect a properly up-to-date Mac. All current malware will be blocked by one or more methods.
For more information, see my Mac Malware Guide.

  • I live in the US and want to buy a MacBook Air with norwegian keyboard in the Apple Store. Is that possible?

I live in the US and want to buy a MacBook Air with norwegian keyboard in the Apple Store. Is that possible?

In earlier years you can go th an Apple Store, buy a Macbook Pro and ask for a replacement to a other type of keyboard. I do this 2-3 times in the last years for german keyboards. If you done this on the same day you bought the macbook, the replacement happened without charge anything. It was a great service.
Yesterday i go back to the same store like before and both - the sales representative and the guys an the GeniusBar told me - that this is not offered by Apple anymore. Because the US Apple Online Store do not offer other Keyboards the US-based keyboards and the German Apple Online Store do not deliver to other countries the final conglusion from the Apple Stuff was:
Flight to germany, but it over their.
I see here in the Support community a lot of questions about norwegian, german and other kind of keyboards they want to buy in the US. Their is obviously a need for this. And from the logistic standpoint, it should be easy for Apple to offer that in the Online Stores itself.
For me the conglusaion is: I stay with my old Macbook Pro and hope i need no replacement within the next years. To order it in germany, ship it to a friend, pay taxes twice (in germany and vur customers) plus shipment, make it to expensive (bottonline: 600-800$ more than buy it in the US) make no sense to me.

You should contact an Apple retail store and ask if they can make a special order for you.

I don't know what service options are available in India but if this helps I do know that once you purchase your Apple product the warranty is valid anywhere in the world.

  • Does the MacBook Air have a slot for a lock?

My current MacBook has a slot in which I can insert a lock to protect the computer in a public location (a library, for example).
Does the MacBook Air have the same slot?
    Thanks.

Unfortunately the MBA is too thin for the Kensington lock. I've seen a couple solutions but they aren't inexpensive. I've seen this one and some of these. I recommend Prey for after the fact.

  • Macbook air built-in keyboard/trackpad only work at login screen

The built-in keyboard and trackpad have become unresponsive on my 2013 refurbished macbook air. When I restart it, everything works normally at the login screen, but becomes unresponsive again once I've logged in. The computer works fine with external inputs or a shared screen.
I've recently updated to yosemite. The fact that everything works up until login makes me think this is a software problem. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps listed here, and I've reset PRAM and SMC. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

    Hi,
I was able to get result from apple store after 24 days not hours days. They said it's my fault and they have found liquid inside of it and when i asked to see pictures of it they asked for COURT ORDER and repair will be cost around 400$.
I am %100 sure that my macbook air never touched with liquids.
I was using it for business and not even fluids there isn't any one scratch on it. I have been very careful.
Did they asked 400$ for you too ?
I am also using mac mini and iphone 5s. I think i will never buy an apple again.
And i will definetly go to court.

  • Macbook Air Trackpad And Keyboard Unresponsive!! PLEASE HELP!

Hello everyone, a while ago (about 2 months) my Macbook air started having troubles with its trackpack and keyboard. At random times they would become unresponsive and just stop working. They would work for like 1 second when the computer turns on but then it would stop. A couple weeks ago the problem stopped occuring the keyboard and trackpad were working fine and dandy. Of course until last night, I open the computer and the trackpad and keyboard won't work.. The keyboard lights are on and the power button works but nothing else does it is extremely frustrating! I did an SMC reset which worked for like 5 minutes until it stopped working again. I have done a NVRAM reset nothing, I have done everything that I have seen but I need a fix for this! The mac is running OS X 10.9.3 and I am pretty sure that is the latest. Please help me guys I am really getting frustrated with this undying problem ;/

you don't need to disassemble your device.
    4 days is a lot.
maybe rust has already been created.
    cross fingers.

  • ***CALLING ALL MACBOOK AIR USERS*** Will the base model of the 2013 Macbook Air 11" be enough for my needs?

    Ok,
This is my first post to this forum.
I have a Late 2011 i5 Macbook Pro. I used this last year during college but the weight was just unbearable. I have decided this year to upgrade to a Macbook Air. Here is my question.
I am starting uni and will be studying Nursing and so I will not be using any heavy software or progaming etc.
The only thing I will use is Office for Mac and browsing. I normally keep around 15 browser tabs open whilst I research.
I also like to download so I would also like Vuse on my Macbook too. I own an external hardrive and so memory isnt a big deal (unless it makes a difference to the performance of the mac itself, Sorry im not great with this stuff)
Do you guys think the base model of the 11" Macbook Air (1.3ghz, 4GB ram, 128GB SSD) will be enough for my needs or do you think I would need to custom build it (1.7ghz, 8GB ram, 128GB SSD)?
My boyfriend thinks for what im using it for the base model will be fine but I dont want to get it to find that its not enough as my main concern is lag but I also do not want to pay extra for something which isnt going to be fully used (ie my current Macbook Pro).
For those of you who do have the 11' Macbook air, how are you finding it? Also, this will be my main computing device, I am selling my Pro but am thinking of buying the wireless keyboard and trackpad so I can connect to an extenal monitor whilst im at home.
Thank you guys in adavnce for any answers.

I too have a 2011 mackbook pro and I also have a mid 2012 mackbook air 128 gb ssd and 4 gb ram , I am probably goint to sell the pro because I just don't use it anymore . If you intend to do heavy multi tasking 8gb ram as suggested by a previous poster might be worth the extra money.

  • Snow Leopard will not install on Macbook Air--have spent days on this!

    Hi, all!
I have tried almost 10 times to install the Snow Leopard upgrade to my MacBook Air via the remote disk and it has either frozen, quit, or disconnected each time (freezing is the most common occurrence). It takes 5 or more hours to get to that point. The computer with the disk in it is a MacBook (Intel), and both computers have plenty of space available and are running on the same secure wireless network, so there shouldn't be a problem. (I have installed applications between these two computers before.)
This is incredibly frustrating, so any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Lisa

It's highly likely that your wireless network is the problem. Normally I'd recommend grabbing a couple pieces of CAT5 and hooking both machines up via wired network temporarily but that's not an option with the Air.
You could try at least connecting the MacBook via wire, eliminating at least half the wireless contention (turn off the wireless on it to be sure you're using the wire). Since you've already tried 10 times, an 11th probably isn't out of the question.

  • Macbook air have dented corners upon receival

I was recently gotten a gift from a friend, a new 11" macbook air. He just ordered it from US Online store and didn't check on it content upon arrival (as it supposed to be a gift).
And last week I received it from him (I am in Indonesia), opened the sealed package, and saw my supposed to be brand new Macbook Air is dented on its corners.
I have tried to contact Apple Support by phone and visit retail stores here to no help.
I do understand that I can't claim it to retail stores as it was purchased from US Online Store (I am in Indonesia).
How should I contact Apple regarding this issue please advise.
    Thank you.
