Do all namespaces have to live in the 'DFSRoots' folder?

Running through DFSN PS commands for the 70-411...
My question is, do all DFS namespaces have to have their root shared folder in the 'DFSRoots' folder? Working through the 70-411 Exam Ref handbook, and entering..
New-DfsnRoot -TargetPath \\trey-dc-02\Public `
-Path \\TreyResearch\Public `
-Type DomainV2 `
-Description "Central source for Publicly visible files"
...would create a namespace root of 'TreyResearch\Public', pointing to the pre-created/shared folder of 'Public'.
Now, I tried this myself - I created a shared folder on the C: drive, and pointed my namespace to this folder.
If I were to create the namespace using the DFS GUI, it would create the shared folder in the 'DFSRoots' folder.
Does it hurt to have the shared folder outside of here, and what are the implications?

Hi,
When you create a namespace folders using the DFS GUI, the namespace folder will store in 'DFSRoots' folder by default. You can change the location under the “Edit Settings…” button. Please see the screenshot below. On the screenshot, if you do not manually
select a folder, it will create a folder C:\DFSRoots\test as a default setting.

You will not lose everything on you phone if you backup prior to updating. You can do it maunaully (simply by syncing your phone with itunes) but when you update iTunes will prompt you do back up your phone anyways. After you've updated you can reload everything on to your phone with the itunes back up.

I have signed out then back into the cloud. I have comfirmed location of the photostream folder. I have have even restored settings on my phone. any ideas on what I can do to get it working again? or do I have to accept defect, and manually save my photos?

your iCloud storage isnt part of your phone, that is a back up for your phone, you have to delete things on your phone, so I recommend backing up your photos to your computer or iCloud since im sure thats whats taking up all your storage, then delete the photos on your phone and then update your phone using iTunes on your computer.

*** may have found a fix ? *** Thanks to your post re: GDI objects I checked task manager ( added column "GDI objects")and saw 700+ whereas working 6.18 was 160 ish Got thinking - what could possibly use that many GDI objects ( firefox only uses a few hundred and it's a platform ) Then it hit me - emoticons ! So in tools/ options/ IM&SMS/ IM Appearance unchecked "show emoticons"and also unchecked "show images and other media previews"restarted Skype and GDI objects now only 164 ( down from 729 )and all other windows are repainting fine and are usable again( my problem was RDP sessions that became unusable, as I work remotely ) To be sure, have rechecked the options and restarted skype and see 700+GDI objects ( goes up from 660 when place call to echo/sound test )and removed them again to get only 164have also rebooted a few times and gone through the whole processof unchecking emoticons, restart, rechecking emoticons, restart to make sure itsnot a fluke. pretty sure this has fixed it for me ( so I now have a working 7.6.0.105 on XP SP3 ),and as your problem "sounds" the same I hope it also works for you. Simple answer: yes.
But... you need to proceed very carefully or you might delete the wrong things.
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.
If you have a Managed library, and also have copies in the Pictures Folder outside the Library, then they're the waste of space...

Why do I have to go to the parent folder because the tag doesn't work?

If I click on a Tag, which has the identical URL (Tag "Location") to what resides in the Parent Folder it will not access the website. However, if I go to the Parent Folder and click on the Bookmark the website can be accessed. The URLs were copied and pasted so there is no issue as far as the URL is concerned.
It seems as though something interferes or differs when using a Tag. Sometimes I've tried recopying the URL as displayed on the website and re-pasting it in the Tag Location (URL). That works but only on a temporary basis. The next time I access the Tag I can't connect to the website.
Is this a website issue, or a browser issue? Can a website know that a Firefox user is using a Tag to access it and won't allow access, but will if access is done through the Parent Folder?

The "Parent Folder" is an add-on. Browse Add-ons and you'll find it. If you don't have it, add it. It has been a worthwhile addition. What it allows is to right click on a tag. A drop-down menu appears that say, "Go Parent Folder".
This has been enormously helpful in organizing and being able to find stored Bookmarks, especially if you've got a lot of them.
But something seems to be happening more regularly. When trying to open a website using a Tag it will time-out. It takes many tries to connect, but if you "Go Parent Folder" to where the Bookmark is actually stored the website usually opens immediately. Since both the Tag and the Bookmark appear to contain the same URL to be accessed it appears that something is happening with the Go Parent Folder Add-on or the interaction with the Tag and the Bookmark that won't allow connection to the website.
I'm no programmer, but this is where I'd look to try and identify the problem. I'm currently using Windows 8.1 and this seemed less frequent before I gravitated from Windows XP Pro. Many of these links I've had going back to Windows 2000 Pro.

I'm getting the subject notification when I select Store, Check for Available Downloads. The problem is, there are shows that have not downloaded to my computer. Suggestions?

I had this same problem and Apple couldn't explain why. I would click on available downloads and it would say all content had been downloaded. They were listed in the library but they weren't downloaded. What I had to do was click on the cloud icon next to the show and then the shows would download to my computer. I don't have an iCloud account but for some reason(which apple support couldn't explain) my purchases have to be downloaded from the cloud. Hope that helps. I still haven't been able to figure out why I have to go through this extra step when I didn't have to a week ago.

go to help at the top of your browser then click on restart with add-ons disabled, firefox will close then it will open up with just basic firefox, then you can swicth the add-ons back on and it should be ok, ive just done this myself and it worked
