I've been using the trial version... I've got 8 days left
More than happy to upgrade... except, some videos arent coming out too well
I posted a link to an example, @Tom Wolsky looked at my settings for the project and original video (in anither thread) and said there was nothing wrong he could see
If I upgrade, then will I get xx days of tech support?
I dont want to try another video package - I like FCPX
(+ I've speant ages learning it as well - dont want to start learning another package)

If you look carefully in the video before that, you'll see some blips as well - though less noticeable

Apple does not give credit toward new purchases although they do have a recycling program that will get you a gift card but the device has to be in decent working order. Obviously the shattered screen blows that.
They do offer an out of warranty replacment plan whereby you can purchase a refurbished iPad at a reduced price.

Only the Apple ID used to buy an app can update an app. Apple does not merge Apple IDs and Apple does not transfer content biught with one ID to another ID.

The Music app is ridiculously messed up ... if you use it enough, you will come across these issues which can only be addressed by an iOS update.

IWork free with new purchase but not available after time machine restore

Tried to find the best place to put this and this is the best I can surmise.
iWork is now supposedly free with the purchase of a new Mac. I received a new MacBook Pro 2 days ago. The problem is, I wanted to keep all my old settings/apps/features/files without spending 2 weeks resetting everything back up, so I used time machine to restore my machine to the state of my old MacBook Air. Unfortunately, it does not look like any iWork apps remained in the Applications folder (makes sense), but now I go to the App store and Pages, Numbers, and Keynote are all listed as $19.99.
I only assume that my time machine restore was the issue (I don't know if the apps were ever in the Applications folder at all), but since time machine is a feature Apple supports I would assume they support some way to make this work as well. How do I go about getting iWork without paying $60?

There are several reasons why the updates don't show as free for those who already have iWork '09 installed.
1. You must have iWork '09 apps installed & they must be updated to the x.3 version. You can also download the standalone updater from this page.
2. If you are not using English as the primary language for your Mac, change to English & run Software Update. You can then switch back to your preferred language.
3. Go to Mac App Store (MAS) > Click on Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads. You will need to individually click into each application > Click update > enter in your Apple ID & password and then it will start updating.
4. Open App Store on your Mac & look at the buttons under Keynote, Pages & Numbers. If it does not say “Update” click Account under Quick Links, enter your password & click “View Account.” Next, click the “Reset” button to the right of “Reset all warnings for buying and downloading” at the bottom of this page, & click Done. Check your updates tab & iWork & iLife updates should now appear.
These are the ones I've seen work for others.

Can Apple give me a new replacement phone for one that is defective?

I just purchased the new iPhone 5s about 4 months ago and have come to realize that the phone itself is messed up and not just my usage that is causing the battery to drain at an extremely fast rate. The phone was purchased at best buy and the best they can do for me is a refurbished phone so I was just wondering if I took my phone to the apple store if they would be able to give me a brand new one...

Your best bet is to take it in to an Apple store. They may take potty and replace with new unit.
Since the phone is faulty, you can't be any worse off. Replacing the phone from the same retailer may result in another faulty phone.

3rd Logic Board replacement: will Apple give me a new computer?

Hello Ronda and Friends,
I am a professional guidebook and magazine writer, currently traveling around the world with an iBook which loves to crash its logic board right before book deadlines, usually very far from Mac centers. The first time was in Belize (had to ship it back to US at great expense), the second time in Pakistan (got logic board replaced 6 weeks later in Delhi, this was only 5 months ago), and the third, the day before yesterday, here in Chiang Mai, Thailand, which thankfully has a Mac repair center.
I've got 3 months left on Applecare and plan on replacing the logic board again, though I have 6 months left on this current trip, which will soon take me very far from Mac repair shops (i.e. Africa). I am constantly working on deadlines, and if this third board craps out in Kenya, I'll be pretty screwed.
After reading a few archived logic board sob stories here, some seemed to suggest that there are cases where Apple would grant a new model iBook, if that person's livelihood depended on it which mine certainly does.
Please advise as soon as possible so I know whether to go ahead with the logic board replacement here. Or let me know who I should contact in customer relations.

Hi, Joshua. Welcome to Apple Discussions. Again isn't it, as I seem to remember your logic board failure in Pakistan, yes?
It seems to be the usual thing that Apple wants three attempts at repair (which means four logic board failures) before considering a replacement. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Especially since your livelihood depends on a working iBook, I'd advise you to ask for a replacement.

But do not mess around with Customer Service. Ask for Customer Relations. Tell them that your iBook has a habit of losing its logic board at the most inopportune times and in the most inopportune places. Be prepared to give them dates and details of repairs, and stress how vital your iBook is to your livelihood and that lost computer time is lost income. Tell them you need a computer you can count on, and your iBook, much as you love it, just isn't getting the job done for you. Then ask for a replacement.
If Thailand won't do it for you, I think you should invest a call to the U.S. Again, don't settle for Customer Support; immediately ask for Customer Relations and give them the same sad story and ask for a replacement. It won't hurt to emphasize the fact that you have AppleCare.
Failure in Africa equals a trip to the Netherlands for repair (at least from what I've read here). One person in Africa didn't have his iBook for months. You really need a dependable iBook to take to Africa. Tell them so.

I know warranties dont cover those kind of damages and neither does apple care which I have. I have heard I can get a new or refubished one for 200 dollars if I take it to an apple store. This blows but I will pay the 200 if this is true.

Problems with new purchased iPhone 4S

I just bought my new White SIM FREE Unlocked iPhone 4S 16GB.
I am from Israel and I received it with the following UK plug:

That's the first issue I am having.
I want the second eu plug, not the uk plug.
The second problem which is more critical - the iphone device.
My Sleep Button doesn't working, it came with a defect.
Sometimes it works but most of times it doesn't!
The shop I bought it from refuse to give me a new iPhone.
My iPhone is only 4 days old and they don't care!
I did a mistake I bought the iPhone from this store, I paid a lot of money and I receive very low quality service.
If I was living in USA or any other country that has apple store in there I was going there, but there is not any apple store in Israel.
What can I do guys? The shop isn't helping me and the button isn't working.
The seller also doesn't agree to replace me the charger, he says this it's not related to him, "this is what comes with the box".
I am not guilty this charger came in the box, I didn't knew that before I bought it!
I am feeling deceived... that's all I can say.

As I can see it says you are using a unlocked phone which means the phone is jailbroken to use any sim. As for jailbreaking a device, that does ruin the warranty of the device, so you can't take it into a apple store. When you buy a phone, and it is pre-jailbroken there is a possibilty that the configuration of the software could have defects (including the sleep button). What I would suggest is to restore the iphone to factory to have it working again.

That's the problem. You can't restore a device to a backup made on a device that was running a higher iOS version than the device being restored. You'll first have to update the replacement to iOS 6, then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings, go back through the setup screens again and when given the option select Restore From iCloud Backup. Your backup should now be available to restore to.
