Just like what the question says:
Do Apple stores sell iPod nano (RED 8GB) in stores? or is it only online?

Yes, Apple sells them at their stores as well as online.

  • Can I buy the Ipod nano Red in any other stores besides the apple retail store?

Can I buy the Apple Ipod Nano RED in any other retail store other than the apple store? I want to get one today but I don't want to go to the mall to get it. Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Apple only sells the iPod nano (RED) Edition at Apple Retail Stores and the Apple Online Stores, not at any other shop. However, if you want, you can search one on a different site in the Internet, but you won't find it on a different shop than an Apple Retail Store

  • I just purchased an iPod Nano (Red) and want to connect to my truck's speakers.  There is no built-in direct port.  What is the best product to buy to make that connection?

I just purchased an iPod Nano (Red) and want to connect to my truck's speakers.  There is no built-in port to connect.  What is the best product to purchase in order to make a connection?  Thx, Robert

Your truck's audio system may not have a specialized docking port for iPods, or a USB port, but does it have a standard "auxiliary" audio input port?  It would look like headphones jack on the iPod.  If so, you can use a cable like this
    http://www.amazon.com/Monster-iCable-Player-Auxiliary-Input/dp/B002AR5XIK
to connect your iPod's output to the car's audio.
Otherwise, if your audio system is old enough to have a casette tape player, you can get a device that looks casette tape with a cable coming out of it, and play your iPod through the casette tape player.  The other way is to get a device for the iPod that sends the audio, through a low-power radio transmitter, to your car's radio (at a frequency that is normally not used by local radio).  From my experience, neither of those methods work well, in terms of maintaining full audio quality.

  • I didn't receive my return box from Apple for the iPod Nano replacement as promised within 2 working days, did anyone else?

I didn't receive my return box from Apple for the iPod Nano replacement as promised within 2 working days, did anyone else?

UPDATE. Just spoke with an AppleCare representative, Apple has been inundated with requests for these iPod Nano replacements.  They have fallen behind with sending out the return boxes in the 2 days they promised.  I was told to wait an additional 2 days.  She also said they were very surprised so many people still have their 1st generation nanos...
We have been an Apple family for years and trust they will do the right thing, they have always surprised us with their professional customer service and expect this situation to be the same.

I heard about the iPod Nano recall over fire risk, I entered my info online and it said that I was eligible, but since early December I have not heard anything more from itunes/apple. In which time someone I know has sent off theirs and received their replacement nano already. Is there an email address I can email to request info? Would be much appreciated! Thank-you.

use the info you got in the email and check your repair status on apple's website

I have an ipod touch 2g 8gb but now its hd is only 6gb
    Why it happened?

This is correct. It is nothing new or unusual. It is the way memory is reported.
Also the operating system uses up some of the memory as well.

I too, was reluctant to send in my 1st gen Nano when an Express Support rep couldn't confirm what I'd get back: a refurbished 1st gen (someone else's)? My own refurbished 1st gen? A newer gen Nano?  They also couldn't confirm that my orig memory size would be matched (4GB.)  Didn't get a warm fuzzy about that, either.
But I figured, what did I have to lose?  I was using a 7-yr-old Nano in my car...what's the worst that could happen? I sent mine in for replacement (via UPS packaging) the week after Christmas.  I checked Repair Status tonight plus scheduled a call w/Express Support.  The agent told me Apple purposely didn't say in the orig email what model customers might get back because they didn't know how deluged they would be with return 1st gen Nanos.  He put me on hold, contacted 'dispatch' and came back with the good news that I am scheduled to receive a 6th gen Nano (new one!) via Fedex (also good news) sometime this coming week.  He said they ran out of refurbished 1st gens and now are shipping new models.  :-)
If it helps here was my timeline:  Returned 1st gen Nano via UPS to Apple on 12/29; Repair Status on Apple site says it was received 1/11; was scheduled for shipping via Fedex last Thurs, 1/12.  Fast turnaround!  Thanks Apple!

  • IPod nano 4g 8gb detected but wont turn on

I have an 8gb nano 4th gen and ive owned it for about two years. I can connect it to the computer and iTunes will detect it in recovery mode but it will not turn on after i have restored it. It just tells me to restore the iPod. I have restored it plenty of times but keeps coming up as the same message and still won't turn on.

Read the iPod nano (5th generation) - User Guide for a possible solution, search through Apple's Knowledge Base for support Articles and/or iPod Nano Support

  • Ipod Nano 1.8GB ?

I bought an Ipod Nano(2GB) and I put a whole bunch of songs in it just to test it out and then I restored it and erased everything in it and now the capacity is 1.8GB, why is it 1.8GB not 2GB?

  • IPod Nano red striped screen freeze

My 2nd gen iPod Nano has just totally froze me out. In the middle of a card game, the screen just filled with horizontal red stripes. Tried toggling the hold, tried restart with the Menu and centre wheel, tried factory restore in iTunes... Nothing seems to work! iTunes recognises the iPod and appears to be working fine (difficult to tell when you can't use the screen to see if the music etc has loaded correctly). Is it beyond hope...??? Please help...

Thanks for the info. All threads seem to point to iTunes, so I'm hoping it's that and not the iPod. My version of iTunes is 7.7 (43), when I went to the osx-downloads page to update to iTunes version 8.2.1 Apple say the system requirements are osx 10.4.10 or later, as I'm running on osx 10.3.9 I'm guessing that my system won't take the latest update, leaving me stuck with a corrupted iPod! Does this mean the only option would be to upgrade the operating system? In these days of economic gloom it's not something I relish when osx 10.3.9 works perfectly well for everything else. Is it possible to download or go back to a previous version of iTunes that doesn't contain this bug and bypass the cost implications of a full operating system upgrade...????

  • I had to pay to have Apple replace my iPod Nano (6th gen.). I connected it to my PC and a window came up saying something about needing to restore the iPod to work with Windows, so I hit "restore iPod".  iTunes will not recognize the iPod. Suggestions?

Newly replaced iPod Nano (6th generation) not recognized by iTunes on PC. Any suggestions?

  • IPod nano RED Special Edition (2nd generation) Won't Charge

    Hi,
I recently found my red ipod nano that I haven't seen in years while cleaning my room.  I don't remeber when I got it but know it was a very long time ago when I originally purchased it.  I plugged in one of my chargers into the ipod and plugged it into my computer.  I pulled up itunes and reset my ipod completley erasing everything.  I was than able to select the songs that I wanted to put on it completley fine.  I noticed that the battery wasn't charged at all so I let it set there over night while I slept.  When I woke up this morning the battery was completely charged, at least it claimed to be, so I unplugged it from my computer only to find that my ipod had shut off by itself.  The screen slowly faded away like all electronic devices do when the unit runs out of a charge.  I found it very odd and decided to plug back in my ipod to my computer.  The ipod turns on like nothing is wrong and the batttery status shows that it's charging again.  I can plug in my heaadphones and even listen to my music that I put on it, but only when my ipod is connected to my computer.  I unpluged it again from my copmtuer after letting it charge for some time and the same thing occured, the unit shuts off completely as if it ran out of charge and the screen slowly fades away.  I also tried plugging it into my speaker dock system that I have that charges my ipod and allows me to play music at the same time.  Oddly enough the unit turns on and I'm able to listen to the music that I recently turned on.  The battery symbol also indicates that it's charging, even after charging it completley twice.  After some time I unplug it again from the docking station and to no surprise the unit shuts off by itself as if it ran out of charge while in use.
It seems that my ipod is functioning completely fine with reagards to being able to connect it to itunes, sync music to it, and all the stuff it's suppose to do, it just can't seem to hold a charge.  The battery status shows up as empty after repluging it into my computer.  After the battery indicator symbol turns to fully charged I disconnect it and unplug the unit from my computer only for the unit to shut off completely like it ran out of charge.  I cannot turn it on unless it's hooked up to my computer or docking station.
I'm lost as to what is the problem.  Thanks for any input.

So your suggesting to fully let it charge completely and then unplug it and repeat in the hopes that eventually it will be able to hold the charge?

  • Cant change apple ID on iPod nano 5G

I created an apple ID in May with my first iphone. I soon changed this on my macbook pro, and later used it as default my new iphone, my ipad, and my other macbook pro. BUT, I was unable to change it on my ipod nano. I could sync the data on to it but I can't change the apple ID. If I dont have it, I wont be able to purchase from my account or add it to find my ipod (if that is a feature). I tried technical support, tons of information sites, and even resetting it. NOTHING WORKED. How do I change it this is really important!

    Reset your Apple ID password.
