Do Dgn file type require an Ifilter?

I have added Dgn file type in sharepoint 2010 search environment but still I am not able to search the files with the extension
.dgn.
All the files with .dgn extension have warning in crawl logs as
"The filtering process could not load the item. This is possibly caused by an unrecognized item format or item corruption"
Do this require any IFilter to be installed just like we do for .pdf files?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you require an iFilter.Refer to the following post for more information

    I've been trying to install the plug-in Fractilious into a customer's machine, and it claims to have installed, but is not there.  Add on/ extension manager also cannot see it because it is not .zxp (?), file type.
    My customer also relates that only about a third of plug-ins show up in the pop-down list.
    I would really like to see a list of all locations that are recommended or mandated, and the file types required, if such exists.

    In case you did not find it, the following is a copy/paste of the Announcement on Premiere Elements 19/NVIDIA GeForce
    that appears at the top of this forum.
    Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA Video Card Driver Roll Back
    If you are a Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer uses a NVIDIA GeForce video card and you are experiencing
    Premiere Elements 10 display and/or unexplained program behavior, then your first line of troubleshooting needs to be rolling
    back the video card driver version instead of assuring that it is up to date.
    Since October 2013 to the present, there have been a growing number of reports about display and unexplained workflow
    glitches specific to the Premiere Elements 10 user whose Windows computer has a NVIDIA GeForce video card. If this applies
    to you, then the “user to user” remedy is to roll back the NVIDIA GeForce video card driver as far as is necessary to get rid of
    the problems. The typical driver roll back has gone back as far as March – July 2013 in order to get a working Premiere
    Elements 10. Neither NVIDIA nor Adobe has taken any corrective action in this regard to date, and none is expected moving forward.
    Since October 2013, the following thread has tried to keep up with the Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA reports

  • What Video file type is required for upload to Captivate 8?  I have uploaded an .mp4 video to my slide and the HTML5 tracker indicates that the slide/object is unsupported

    Need help asap on this question - does this need to be an .FLV file?  There seems to be a lot of conflicting information on this.

    Hi
    I am using a MAC
    Captivate 8.0.1.242
    Multi-slide synchronized so I can set the slide timing to accommodate length of video
    The problem is specifically with .flv video files when publishing a responsive project or even trying to play the slide.  The video encoder pops up trying to convert the file to .mp4 for output but does not work.  My understanding is that the ONLY video file type I can use for responsive projects is .flv
    Is this correct?

  • CFHTTP problem - is file-type extension required

    Hello,
    Running CF8 on Win2003/IIS.
    I have the following simple code to check a value from another server:
    <cfhttp method="get" URL= "http://server.somewhere.com/websvc/util?a=doHTMLRequest&event=workgroupstat"   throwonerror="yes">
    <cfset theContent = "#cfhttp.FileContent#">
    <cfoutput>#theContent#</cfoutput>
    I have also tried:
    <cfhttp
      method="get"
      url="http://server.somewhere.com/websvc/util">  (with and without the ? after the word util)
      <cfhttpparam name="a" type="URL" value="doHTMLRequest">
      <cfhttpparam name="event" type="URL" value="workgroupstat">
    </cfhttp>
    The URL that is shown above returns nothing when using it within CFHTTP. If I change the URL to http://www.google.com or whatever I get the code of that page assigned to my theContent variable as expected
    From a browser, the URL used in the cfhttp function above works fine. The request returns a simple HTML file with the following code from which I need to pull the agents_available data:
    <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Agents Available</TITLE></HEAD><BODY><H2>workgroup:Chat</H2><H2>agents_available:1</H2><H2>agent s_logged_in:1</H2></BODY></HTML>
    I cannot understand why I can call any other page from the internet (and our network) and put it into my theContent variable but I can't call this one.  Could it be something in the structure of the URL??
    I'm thinking that the CFHTTP function cannot properly format the request without the file-type extension.
    Any ideas are appreciate.  Regards, Jerry

    Hi Ian,
    I tried your suggestions.  Used Firefox with FireBug and LiveHTTP Headers and nothing appears out of the ordinary except the Content-Length which is always 0.  It's not being redirected.  The response is 200 OK.
    i.e.:
    cfhttp.errorDetail:
    cfhttp.text:  YES
    cfhttp.statusCode  200 OK
    cfhttp.MIMEType  Unable to determine MIME type of file.
    cfhttp.header  HTTP/1.1 200 OK Set-Cookie: JSESSIONID=88760F22E9FA8717DE807D6F1F758E9A; Path=/websvc Date: Thu, 04 Jun 2009 17:04:37 GMT Content-Length: 0 Server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered-By: ASP.NET
    But when the URL is called directly from a browser the Content-Length is not 0.  It is 148 bytes.
    I'm using:
    <cfset Mokrynski.PageName = "_">
    <cfsetting showdebugoutput="no">
    <!---cfhttp   method="get"   url="http://server.somewhere.com/websvc/util">;
    <cfhttpparam name="a" type="URL" value="doHTMLRequest">
    <cfhttpparam name="event" type="URL" value="workgroupstat">
    </cfhttp--->
    <cfhttp   method="get"   url="http://server.somewhere.com/websvc/util?a=doHTMLRequest&event=workgroupstat" />
    <cfset agentCount = (cfhttp.fileContent)>
    <cfoutput>#agentCount#</cfoutput>
    <cfoutput> <p>cfhttp.errorDetail:  #cfhttp.errorDetail#</p>
    <p>cfhttp.text:  #cfhttp.text#</p>
    <p>cfhttp.statusCode  #cfhttp.statusCode#</p>
    <p>cfhttp.MIMEType  #cfhttp.MIMEType#</p>
    <p>cfhttp.header  #cfhttp.header#</p>
    </cfoutput>
    Note that there are two methods I've used - 1 used commentd out in this code.  If i change the url in the cfhttp function to ANYTHING else I get the expected result - goog.com, our site, cnn.com, whomever but not from this URL which clearly works from a browser.
    Thanks, Jerry

  • Need to avoid header When using GUI_DOWNLOAD with file type "DBF"

    Hi ,
    I am downloading internal table to excel on the desktop using GUI_DOWNLOAD with file type "DBF".
    Internal table I use do not have any header.
    But I do see the header in the downloaded file.
    It displays 1 row as " F1  F2 F3..ETC" heading for each column.
    Is there any variable we need to set to suppress header.
    Thank you,
    Kumar

    Hello Dilip,
    I tried using GUI_DOWNLOAD with FILE TYPE as "DBF", and i see the problem as mentioned. My question to you is:
    1. Why do you need 'DBF' format?
    2. Is it required to save the file as '.CSV'? Can you not try to save in '.XLS' file?
    Plz revert back.

    Suhas

  • Configure File Type Associations

    I just moved from Windows XP Professional 32 bit to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and installed several versions of JDeveloper (10.1.3.5, 11.1.1.5, 11.1.2.1) on the new machine.
    All of them are popping up the "Configure File Type Associations" window every time I start JDeveloper, no matter what my answer to the prompt. After I press OK or Cancel, all my versions of JDeveloper are working fine. But the pop up is getting annoying. On my Windows XP machine, this only popped up the first time I ran JDeveloper, and never again. Anybody know how I can stop it?

    Not quite, csoto, but you inspired me to try something that seems to have done the trick. You were right, it is a Windows 7 issue.
    I started one of my copies of JDeveloper with "Run as Administrator", pressed OK on the prompt. Then I closed JDeveloper and started it again as myself. Now none of my versions of JDeveloper are showing the prompt. Annoyance gone.
    What I think is happening is that the "Configure File Type Associations" dialog needs to change something in the Windows registry. Windows 7 security requires you to have administrative rights to do this, so when you run JDeveloper without those rights, it can't make the change. But (and I think this should be considered a bug) it doesn't show an error to tell you that it didn't have the right to do it. It just closes the dialog window. The next time JDeveloper runs, it notices that you haven't set file associations yet, so it shows the dialog again. Running JDeveloper - any version - as Administrator lets it change the file associations (which apparently applies to all versions) so that it never displays the prompt again.

  • Unsupported file type (.mov)

    I am using Adobe After Effects CS4 (9...)
    I am trying to create Andrew Krammer's ,,crumble" effect (http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorial/procedural_crumble/)
    If you skip at 23:44 you will see that he is adding an imported .mov file.
    Everytime i try to import a .mov file, i get the following error: After Effects error: Can't import file "NAME.mov": unsupported file type or extension.     ( 0::1 )
    I think I have what I need: QuickTime 7.7.1 (it's the latest version I found, right from Apple's website)
    (I don't know if this really helps:) When i click File>Export> QuickTime is disabled, not selectable. It says: QuickTime 7.4.1 or later required (even though i have 7.7.1)
    I do not really want to convert the .mov into anything else because I saw that the .mov file (from Andrew Krammer's video) don't display the background, only the dust (in my case). Other video types DO display the black background. The files I try to import to AE work (they can be opened with QuickTime, no errors)

    What is your OS? After Effects requires QuickTime. Is your AE up to date?

  • Server side validation for file type with cffil sent via cfmail problem

    Hello;
    I have a small app that I need to allow users to be able to use a form, and send me and email with a file attachment. I have it working nicely, I included file manipulation into the validation process of the form and required form fields. The problem I'm having, is this. I'm trying to create and instance where if they try and upload lets say a pdf, it throws and error: "You are trying to upload the wrong file, please try again we only accept bla bla bla" Problem is, even if I'm uploading the proper file, it's rejecting it and deleting it. Can someone help me fix this? I've tried a number of different ways and can't seem to get this to go off properly. I am posting some of the code. There is a ton, so I'm posting the main parts so you get the idea and see my variables.

  • Changing file type API to open with Adobe Reader 9.2

    In windows XP, if I go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\plug_ins, it shows the API extension to be File Type AcroExch.plugin
    This seems to be because Adobe Acrobat 5.0 is installed first on the PC, then Adobe Reader 9.2 is installed on the PC.
    On a clean PC, if I install Adobe Reader 9.2, then the file type becomes API file.
    How do I change the file type from AcroExch.plugin to API file?

    I want to do this because I have a 3rd party plugin which will not work otherwise.
    The 3rd party plugin is FileOpen Installer.
    http://plugin.fileopen.com
    If Adobe Reader 9.2 is installed on the PC first, then the folder c:\program files\adobe\reader 9.0\reader\plug_ins looks like the attached JPG Adobe Reader 9 Plugin working.jpg
    FileOpen Plugin works with the above situation.
    Note that it is a 3rd party supplier which sends files which require the 3rd party Plugin FileOpen and a test document is here
    http://fileopen.bl.uk:8008/FileOpenFreeLink-1.0/entryPage.do;jsessionid=FADC8178CCD0236480 199338A79483E7
    If Adobe Acrobat 5.0 is installed on the PC first and the Adobe Reader 9.2, then the folder c:\program files\adobe\reader 9.0\reader\plug_ins looks like the attached Adobe Reader 9 Plugin Problem.jpg and the test file sent by the British Library above will not open.
    You get the following when you try to open the British Library test file (see British Library2.jpg)
    FileOpen is installed as a 3rd Party Plugin in Adobe Reader 9.2 and I can see this under Help About 3rd Party Plugins FileOpen Installer.
    (Note Adobe Acrobat 5 runs via a network install and is not installed onto the workstation so I can't remove it via Add/Remove Programs).
    So I am guessing the problem is to do with the API file type being different when Adobe Acrobat 5 is installed first?
    Thanks,
    Paul

  • How do you set default save file type

    My Photoshop when I choose save as is choosing TIF as the default file type after opening a raw file. I want to choose PSD as the default. I cannot figure out how to change the setting to raw.

    Hi, Unfortunately, Photoshop will chose a format that fits the minimal requirements of a file according to the absence/presence of layers.
    You could go to the feedback website, http://feedback.photoshop.com and ask for a preference to set the default file type.

    Hi Pratichi,
    in my point of view having text as the file type,the file will be having characters that are used for Segment separators or Element separators ( like space ) in the standard EDI format message.  Hence it is throwing exception in X2E mapping. It is just my point of view but not sure.
    Thanks,
    Shabbir.

  • IMovie export file type selection for iDVD

    I'm manipulating "home movies" (old Hi8 & new flash HD) with intent to eventually burn DVD's for various family members (e.g., children & grandparents) using iDVD. I have been creating Projects then exporting as either Movie (Medium .m4v) or Quicktime (.mov).
    What are the trade-offs for subsequent incorporation of these file types into iDVD? For example, is one of better quality - especially in light of all future source clips being AVCHD?

    Old Toad:
    Thank you for the suggestions. My dilemma is HD storage. For example, one Project (~63 minutes) is derived from Hi8 .dv clip consuming 12.67GB. After export as .m4v the Project's resultant file is only 738.4MB, and I expect a QT .mov export to be ~2.74GB - both of which consume less space than the source file. I've ~40 Hi8 tapes to convert, plus am adding footage with my new camcorder. Therefore my plan, possibly flawed as I am new to all of this, is to import source Events, build Projects, export to best-mode for later iDVD, then delete the source Event and Project to save space. Otherwise I'll be out of space before I can capture all of my Hi8 content.
    Your suggestion, whcih is greatly appreciated, would require me to start generating iDVD projects immediately for best quality - yet I hesitate because I want to build DVDs based on a comprehensive inventory of the old footage. Is there a best-quality export from iMovie for subsequent incorporation into iDVD?
