Do Firefox's and Thunderbird's versions 32 bit work also for 64 bit systems in Linux?

I installed on my 64 bit laptop some Linux distros, each one in an alongside partition. Until now I used only 32 bit distros, because my machine has only 4 GB RAM and I prefer well tested softwares.
About Firefox and Thunderbird, I don't use the distro's versions, but I download from Mozilla's site the packages tar.bz2, expand them and save them into a date partition (not a system partition), accessible by each distro. In the same partition I saved also Firefox and Thunderbird profiles, in order to use the same software, the same profiles and the same mail archive with any distro I installed.
Now, I'd like to install also a distro that is offered only in the 64 bit version. The question is: may I use the same 32 bit version of Firefox and Thunderbird also with the 64 bit distro, sharing it (and profiles and mail archive) with the other distros (32 bit)?
If no, may I use only for the 64 bit distro the tar.bz2 of Firefox and Thunderbird 64 bit, but keeping on sharing profiles and mail archive with 32 bit Firefox and Thunderbird (with the other distros)?

You may need appropriate 32-bit packages in order to run 32-bit versions on 64-bit Linux though.
There are 64-bit versions of Firefox for Linux at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ and for Thunderbird well they do not make as easy to get http://download.cdn.mozilla.net/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/releases/31.2.0/linux-x86_64/ just choose your language like say en-US.

Your problem is caused by the Ask Toolbar which you have installed. There are compatibility issues between Ask and Firefox at the moment.
Please do the following to ensure a clean installation.

If you mean will you lose the work you've done in the trial version: no, you shouldn't.
Ideally, before you remove the trial version, back up the catalog. Go to Edit menu (in LR), Catalog settings... and click "Show", which will take you to the folder containing the catalog (for Windows, don't know about Mac). Make a note of that folder location, and preferably take a copy somewhere.
When you've installed the CC version (as BKKDon says), if the CC version doesn't open the existing catalog, go to File menu, Open Catalog... and take it to the existing catalog.

A long story about your issue... I think the reason of this is why you have deleted some registry keys. If you delete something in the Windows registry you should really know what you do. You can damage the complete Windows system!
So I think this is the reason why the keyboard doesnt anymore.
In the user manual I have founded that the CD-ROM booting option is only available with optional optical disk drive.
So for me it sounds like that your USB CD drive is not compatible to the notebook

Wish to delete Firefox 4 and reinstate last version again. NOT technical so need total instructions

Foolishly today I installed Firefox 4. Foolish because it wiped my lower tool bar, killed of lots of facilites and shut my video accelerator. I am NOT technical so PLEASE need desperately to REMOVE Firefox 4 and reinstate the last version I had that DIDN'T dictate what I use as an Add-on.
Maybe these brill programmers can, with future upgrades, actually HIGHLIGHT the tools and other stuff that it will vanish if one continues. I can't say I noticed a 'preview what we will do to you' screen before accepting this downgrade.

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4 ([https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+Firefox]), but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

Firefox 5 and thunderbird 5 association

Hi everybody,
this is becoming a little nightmare for me. Everytime firefox or thunderbird gets updated their association (open a link on an email with firefox) gets lost.
I was the one having troubles when we got firefox 4 and now that we have firefox 5 and thunderbid 5 things got even worst.
I tried all the suggestions in the ff4 post, of course changing ff's path to the new /usr/lib/firefox-5.0/firefox but with no luck..
So, here I'm once again asking for help to you guys.
How the hell can I configure thunderbird 5 to open links in firefox 5? No gnome here, just KDE.

Enter KDE's control panel and look for the title on the left pane that indicates mime associations (sorry not on kde atm so I can't tell you the exact location). Once there you can edit and delete/make new mime associations. You'll see many apps that have a default list of programs kde will try to use when opening certain filetypes.
For example, if you click on the entry for "text" you'll see on the right side that it will open with Kate,nano and Kwrite IIRC. You can push one of those to the top of the pile to make it the default app that will open up when you double click a text file.
I hope this helps, you can check the KDE docs to find what I'm talking about in a clearer fashion, just search for "mime extensions" I believe is the heading.

I built a new pop-up menu for my website using Spry in Adobe Dreamweaver. Because of some differences in .HTML and .XHTML
it took me days to get it right. I tested every variation in Firefox until it worked perfectly. Today, I installed the newest version of Firefox and now the pop-up no longer works. I changed the preferences in Firefox to disable to pop-up blocker and it STILL DOESN'T WORK...although an older style of pop-up menu (menu machine) which is no longer supported by Adobe, DOES WORK.
HELP!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT.

versions of FW, so *most* of the points made in the blog
don't apply.
That's not to say that using CS3 pop-up menus is a *good*
thing....

The latest (and forever last) version is CS6 - it is a dead product,and no longer maintained or supported by Adobe.

Thats because the old installed version of googletoolbar has a file named install.rdf that declares the max supported version of firefox to be 4.0.
To fix this ,just open the install.rdf file with notepad and change maxVersion from 4.0.* to 6.* (see the image i've also uploaded)
Now, in order to find the correct install.rdf file do the following:
Go to folder : C:\Users\[your user name here]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[sometext].default and search for the install.rdf file (im using windows 7)
Windows search will find many install.rdf files (one for each addon you have installed on firefox) so make sure that you find the install.rdf that has the line
Google Toolbar for Firefox
in it. For this install.rdf file just rename the max version as stated above , restart firefox..and vuala! Google toolbar is back!
