Do hyperlinks stay?

Hi - our biggest robo project is our planning scheme, with
over 1500 pages in multiple Word docs which are all linked together
with cross referencing hyperlinks - about 4,000 of them. When we
imported it in a previous version of roboinfo, the links were
underlined but not active and we spent three weeks re-linking the
whole project. My big question is: if I import this same humongous
thing into Robohelp 7 will the links be retained? Please say yes!

Welcome to the forum.
I don't think anyone can say Yes for definite. There could
always be something unique about what you have done. RoboInfo was a
different product.
It should all be OK but there is only one acid test. I would
suggest installing the trial version of RH7 on another PC, not your
production machine and trying it.

Does anyone know how to deactivate a hyperlinks from a PDF exported from Pages?

I have created a pages doc that I needs to be exported as PDF. In pages, I all the hyperlinks are deactivated, but every time I export it to a PDF the hyperlinks are reactivated. Does anyone know how to make sure the hyperlinks stay deactivated once the doc is converted to a PDF?

If the links are spelled out (example:http://www.somewebsite.com) and not actual hyperlinks where the links are embedded under regular text, Reader will recognize them as links automatically unless the user has that option turned off (it's on be default). You can't keep that from happening unless the text is an image.

When the cursor hovers over an email or link it opens even though I do not want it to open. This is seriously annoying and I am ready to quit firefox. Please help me fix this problem!!!

I think my explanation is enough, the link or email opens when my cursor hovers on it I want to click any link or email I want to see not have them open automatically!!!

was the "Make Link" add-on you posted supposed to fix the problem? i downloaded it, but i don't know where the "context menu" is that is supposed to help me. how to i view this context window now that i have downloaded the add-on?

Menus created using manual won't link to other Pages

Created a site and had a menu created using manual which was linked to sub pages within the site. The menu was for specific pages not requiring access from the sites top level menu.
The menu was working but now it is not possible to edit or replace the menu as there does not seem to be any way of adding the link to the required page. The dropdown box to the side of hyperlink stays greyed out and can't be accessed. This is only happening to links added using the menu widget under manual, ordinary text links seem to be OK.

Problem with RoboHelp 8

I've never used RoboHelp for Word, but had a project come up at work. I'm having a few problems with it.
The first problem has been brought up in this forum before, but I did not see an answer for it. When I create a hyperlink in the .doc and/or the .rtf file, it doesn't work after I compile it. It looks like a clickable link, but it isn't active.
The second problem also deals with hyperlinks. There was already a hyperlink in the document, but it was broken. I need to change the name of person in that (broken) hyperlink. I changed the name and the email in the document, but when I compile it it shrinks the font size of the hyperlink from 12pt to about 8pt and it still doesn't work. After I saw that it was changing the font size, I changed it back to the original name and the font size stayed the same. Then I deleted the document and imported another copy of it.After compiling it, the font size for the hyperlink stayed at 12pt. Just to check, I changed the phone number in the block of text, not the hyperlink, but the hyperlink still shrunk.
I'm sure there is something I'm missing about hyperlinks in this thing, but I've been messing with it on and off for two days and haven't fixed it yet.

Based on your statement about never using Robohelp for Word, I have to ask the dumb question... sorry...
Are you using Word's hyperlink feature to add the mailto link like you would in a plain old word doc not associated with RoboHelp? If so, that is not where you add it.
In RH for Word to add the link, highlight the text, right click and select Insert Help Jump... If you are adding a mailto link, select Action Type HTML Jump and in the URL or File add mailto:[email protected]
For the link you want to correct, in Word, remove the hyperlink, then do the same as above to add the RH Help Jump. This should solve the font size problem also once you compile.

I recently opened an email with some sort of virus and now I cannot forward, reply, send emails or view you tubes only with firefox. Can you help?

I recently viewed an email and received some sort of virus. Only in the email address where I view in infected email and only when using Firefox do I have a problem. When using the email address I can no longer send emails, reply to emails or forward emails. I can no longer view You Tubes when using FirefoxI. I can send emails, reply, and forward emails and view You Tubes when using internet explorer. I do not have this problem when using another computer. I only have the problem described when using Firefox with the computer which was infected. I prefer Firefox so can you please guide me in a direction to address the problem.

We have a login option called "Other" on our lab 10.4.11 Macs. It links the student logging in to a legacy keyboarding program. Every so often it "disappears" on one of the Macs. Eventually it will "Come Back". How do I prevent this from happening? Thanks.

Problem With Mac: Impossible to make copy&paste

Hi all...
I experienced this problem. Some day ago I connected my camera to my macbookpro (i usually use iphoto to download and organize photos) but that time iphoto doesn't recognize my camera. At the same time I found that it's impossible to do operation like copy and paste with text. It's impossible to drag icons and images from a side to another of the desktop.
I tried to restart the computer but nothing has changed. Tried to have a Console response and I've a coreDragCreateError, but only when I tried to drag&drop an object. Tried to create a new user and enter with this account having the same problems.Installed the combo update. I seen in my system preference if keyboard combination are deactivated.
I have no more ideas ..only to reinstall my system or update it.

Text Wrapping and Spelling Using iCloud Email in the Browser (Safari)

Unlike any of my other email sites (GoDaddy, Yahoo, Google), the iCloud site does not real-time spellcheck or word-wrap.
It is not a browser setting, since as I said, the other sites in the same browser spellcheck and wrap just fine.
MobileMe wrapped and spellchecked too, but those have been replaced by iCloud. Too bad.
So the question is, running Safari and navigating to https://www.icloud.com/#mail, how can I force the Compose Message window to wrap text properly and also spellcheck without having to "invoke" the spellchecker? It doesn't do that now, and yet all the other sites do...

When I try to follow a hyperlink, Firefox opens a new window that stays blank.; also I can't download a hyperlinked file.

I recently bought a laptop that is equipped with Windows 7. I needed new drivers for my Canon printer and was able to locate the new software on their website. When I tried to activate the hyperlink, Firefox opened a new window with the proper address in the "window". however the window stayed blenk. Similar actions with IE yielded desired results.
I got the same "dead end" when I tried to download a form from Mozilla; again IE worked fine.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Why hyperlink's color stays purple after reloading in IE6?

I recently updated my browser from IE5 to IE6 then got some problem withe my jsp file:
As expected, the color of the hyperlink, after first clicking, changes from blue to purple. However, it stays as purple even if I refresh the page, reload the page, re-start browser or even re-start the application server. It was not the case in IE5, where after re-loading, all links are refreshed and become blue again.
Can some one tell me how to set IE6 to solve this problem?

The link shows purple if the page is in the history folder. You can empty the history using IE6 Tools | Internet Options | General

Hyperlinks not staying after upload

I create a weekly staff newsletter for Staff in InDesign CS6 that is uploaded to our staff website for staff to view/download. There are many hyperlinks throughout the document which I have created using the hyperlinks toolbar and they all work fine. (ie the text www.website.com links to a url www.website.com). The problem I have is linking text to a URL and having it stay (ie the text 'Staff Calendar' links to a calendar url www.calendar.com).
I create a hyperlink and it works fine when I PDF it (either using the Export to PDF (print) with hyperlinks selected or Export to PDF (Interactive). I then upload it to our website but when you view the PDF online or download it from our website the Calendar text link down't work anymore. I have tried adding the link a few different ways and exporting it with different settings but the link doesn't seem to hold. The most frustrating part is that the same link in last week's newsletter works fine.
To work around, I have added the Calendar link in Acrobat using it's 'Add link' feature and this seems to work but it would be great not to have to add the extra step at the end.

Hyperlinks don't stay interactive

Am using InDesign 6. Trying to create interactive pictorial Table of Contents and cannot and have set up text hyperlinks to the items in the TOC and text anchor/destination hyperlinks to the location within the document. I set up all the hyperlinks - but then needed to make edits to several items.
Now none of the edited hyperlinks work when the document is pdf'ed (as interactive .pdf). I have tried cutting and pasting text boxes, re-typing text boxes and even copything all the text boxes from a different document into my current document. When I click on new text box to create the link - the "New Hyperlink" option is greyed out. Any ideas??? Thank you

Hyperlinks inside an ID document are based on text anchors or cross references. When placing text anchors, then putting a hyperlink to it and then editing the text position of the text anchor again can make you accidentally erase the text anchor and thus break the hyperlink. So it seems by "needed to make edits to several items" you either altered or deleted the hyperlink target.
The hyperlink pane tells you which hyperlinks are broken.

How to keep hyperlinks made in Pages to stay as pdf?

I have a long doucment being prepared as an ebook. Hyperlinks look fine -- but some have a blue box around them and when i export to pdf they break. How do I fix this? Where did that blue box come from and can I do a global for finding and fixing it?

The blue box indicates a link.
If it works in Pages it should work in the Exported/Printed pdf.
You will need to elaborate what versions you are using and exactly what steps you have done.
