Do I actually need Robo Server if...

This is kind of a morph of a previous discussion I started, but my problems still are not resolved and I'm getting dangerously close to our next Production release so am reaching for answers.
I have a "new" RH6 project that I am using to create CSH WebHelp. (I created a new RH6 project and imported topics that have been from x5 to 7 to 8 and back to 6.) Don't ask :-)
The project seems clean. I've deleted all the weird script tag red square things, removed 2 rogue topics that appear to have been making it crash, and it compiles nicely now.
I have an old help system and an old Robo Server (RoboEngine for x5) out on the Production server.
First question. I don't need WebHelp Pro. So I don't need Robo Server, correct?
Second question. How do I/can I get my webhelp files out there on the server in such a way that the application will call the CSH topics and basically just circumvent the old help files/robo server entirely?

NO! And you are corrrect!
WebHelp output will work just dandy on a basic web server. (Note that I said WebHelp output and not WebHelp Pro output! I'm not sure WHAT WebHelp Pro output would do or how it would behave on a basic web server.)

Unlikely. Based on the complete lack of detail of the issue provided it is entirely possible the same issue would occur.
Unless and until the user provides some actual details of the problem, there is nothing the indicate that the issue is with the iPhone.

Will robo html 6 output work with robo server 7?

I'm sure this is answered somewhere but I have such a hard time searching this forum.... I''m using Robo HTML 6 to create webhelp. Doesn't work with our old X5 RoboEngine. Procurement only offers Robo Server 7. Can I use that with my Robo 6 webhelp output?

I stand to be corrected on this as I'm not the best resource for RoboHelp Server issues. But I think if you have RoboHelp 7, you need it on both sides. RoboHelp Server 7 and RoboHelp WebHelp Pro output generated from version 7.
Hopefully my colleage and fellow Adobe Community Expert John Daigle or another author more familiar with the Server component will pop in here to confirm or deny.

I wonder if the disk being referred to is actually your iPod which is not plugged in. Maybe something has stuck thinking the iPod should be there.
Try completely removing all the iTunes related programs according to this method.

Restart you PC and see if startup improves.
If it doesn't improve you need to consider the possibility that there is something else going on.
If The problem goes away, hopefully a fresh install will be OK.

Need Network Server Advice

I just purchased a NewerTech ministack "NAS", most likely due to a limited understanding of what I actually need, and thin I've made the wrong purchasing decision.
I am seeking advice on just what to get. I have several macs running on my network, and need a server solution. The problem is that I have been using a SnapServer for about a year, and it hasn't been very reliable. The "server" drive icon disappears (unboots) sporadically, and this frustrates my staff (I have five employees). I'm hardwired via ethernet to each office, but also have an airport extreme for the laptops (2). The Airport is hooked to an ethernet 16-port switcher, which feeds the rest of the network and printers.
The management software I use requires constant read and write from all of the computers, so I guess I made a mistake in that I need a "real" server instead of the one I just bought. Your suggestions in my network set up would be much appreciated!! BTW, I want to run it in Leopard if I can.

Since you have less than 10 concurrent users, perhaps you could dedicate a Mac to be your "server" and set it up for file-sharing. If you do it this way it is best to either actually dedicate the Mac to this, or use one that isn't heavily used as this will slow things down a tad.

HT1449 How do I find out which file iTunes actually needs/uses?

I have recently transferred my iTunes libary to an external hard drive (Migration Assistant didn't work, so I dragged and dropped the whole iTunes folder from my other, Windows, external hard drive straight to the new external hard drive, and added the other file that does playlists etc by e-mailing the library file to myself, and 'importing playlist' on the new mac... I still don't have ratings, but that's not a biggie). This is to use as a central library for all users. Works ok, both users face it, all ok... However, the total size of my music library is some 40gb, according to my old laptop and itunes on the new Mac... but on the external hard drive, there is now some 139gb of data (the only other stuff is about 80 pictures, so not much in data terms). This isn't a pressing need as the new external drive is 2tb, backing up to a 2tb Time Capsule, so still plenty of storage left for my wife to add her photos and her music.
So how do I know what to delete? There's each album listed separately, and some old temp files (have deleted the latter), but I'm scared of deleting things I do actually need. I'm at work now, so can't give exact descriptions. Anyone have any clues?

Have read up a bit more, and I think I've found a solution... my wife's music is very much smaller than mine, and I'd like to preserve the ratings on my collection. She's not bothered.
So here's the plan: broadly following iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer, using external drive.
1. delete the iTunes folder previously placed on the new, Mac ext HD (what will be the joint library). No media hopefully now on this machine.
2. copy her iTunes folder from the old ext HD to the desktop of the new Mac. This was consolidated before copying to the ext HD. This will essentially become the backed-up 'previous content' to add back in later.
3. Delete her iTunes folder from the old ext HD to avoid confusion.
4. Copy my old laptop's iTunes folder to the old ext HD
5. Drag the itunes folder from the old ext HD to the new mac ext HD, both showing on the desktop (which should preserve rating etc, right?)
6. add back in the itunes folder on the desktop that I placed there earlier, using file> add to library in iTunes. (ratings not preserved)
Both users iTunes are already instructed to face the new ext HD for their library.
Will this work? Why is one set of ratings etc preserved but not the other?

Do I need a server?

I'm currently working at a small company (4/5 permanent employees and freelancers who are in and out - maximum of maybe 12 people in the building at once) and I've tasked myself with introducing some decent IT setup to the building.
At the moment they have a NAS setup but only 1 person uses it. My main question I guess is whether a server (probably the Mac Mini rather than converting an existing system) is worth it or whether a NAS should suffice? The NAS is a BlackArmor 420 and personally I find it a bit clunky but maybe I should give it a chance?
A potential issue to the above is that in the office there is only 1 permanent office iMac. Everybody else uses Macbook Pros that are also their personal computers so any infrastructure can't take over. The network is predominantly Mac but we have the odd rogue freelancer who comes in with a Windows machine so it would need to support them. In the office we also have an AppleTV box and a number of ipads. Everybody uses iphones but they're personally provided not company phones.
Storage wise, is thunderbolt necessary and if not, what are the alternatives? Generally 90% of work that goes on will be office based although the system will need to cope with serving up massive indesign projects to myself (probably a couple of gb working files). Any video work I'll probably do locally.
So ultimately would a NAS suffice and if not, what would a server provide me that would convince the people above to upgrade?

Jeff: your project doesn't seem to need a server at all to me. If you just turn on a few well placed shares on the compression station and load Apple Remote Desktop or Timbuktu on it, then you can move files back and forth, and run all your video/design apps on it, all while sitting at one of your other LAN machines.

There are a lot of functionality that are in the "grey area". For example, SAP BI runs perfectly fine as AS-ABAP only but there are some functionality that require AS-JAVA. Your best bet is to find out what application / functionality you require from SAP, then research to see if what you are after requires AS-ABAP and/or AS-JAVA.

Is there anything in SWTOOLS that I actually need to keep?

The SWTOOLS is taking up 3-4 Gigs -- and since I'm using a SSD (with relatively limited space) I'd like those 3-4 Gigs back.
Is there anything I actually need in there? If I copy the SWTOOLS folder to a network share, and then delete it from my X220, is there anything wrong with that? Do I even need to copy it to a network share? Offhand, it seems like a bunch of stuff I could download later if I ever actually want it.

On some models of ThinkPad (older ones?), the C:\SWTOOLS directory may contain the standalone installation packages for licensed software that are not available for download, such as DVD viewing or burning software. In addition to make a normal backup of it whereever your store your backups, I would suggest copying the contents of the directory to a 4GB USB flash drive and keeping it someplace near the ThinkPad, such as a carrying case or backpack if you use one. That way, if you ever need to reinstall the operating system while away from your backups, you will have all of the additional ThinkPad-specific software available for reinstallation with you from the USB flash drive.

I need the server run time for weblogic server. Please help

I am trying to create a web project in Eclipse WTP europa. I do not have the bea weblogic server installed on my desktop. My organization has issues running it locally. I need to first create a project and then create a war and then deploy it on server.
I am going through the tutorial at the following website:

Do i need Windows Server 2012 CAL's if only accessing the Exchange Server?

I am about to implement a deticated Exchange 2013 enterprise server, with windows 2012 server its going to be a central server for 250 users, this means the server is on a central location and users are connecting remotely to this server.
The clients will only be accessing trough outlook , i understand i need 250 Exchange 2013 User CAL's, but do i also need need Windows Server 2012 CAL's ?

if you don't use it you don't need it. it's already installed on your computer (it comes with the OS). I would just leave it alone though. X11.app takes 124KB and /usr/X11 takes 155MB. if you are that desperate for space get a bigger hard drive.

Avanti ssh error need a server browser to move files

I need a server browser so I can edit / add some files on my firewall I tryed to use avanti ssh server browser but I get an error saying
"failed to connect to avanti server daemon not running
" so how can I get this running or how do I config it to get it to work? Or is there something better? I also tried " ssh -p xxx me_@myfirewall" but I get
bash: ssh: command not found

I don't know about avanti, but most arch deamons can be started by running
/etc/rc.d/<deamon> start
