If I sign up as an Apple Developer for the iOS Developer Program and pay the $ 100,
can I get discounts on the purchase of a Mac Mini?

the cheapest is good enough for just "developing". All Models support the animation/core image/3D functions to make apps that shine.. Of course the more you invest, the faster the machine . But they all are very capable. There is no "bad Mac" that you can buy now.
However with XCode 4.1.x you can only target Snowleopard and Lion and the current iOS for iphone & co. No old OS or old Mac ( PowerPC ) will run your apps that you make.

I am going to uni soon, from which I want a mac for, but i am looking for a mac mini for the obvious lack of space, I have already looked at what discounts Apple offer on their over macs but i couldn't find any discounts for the Mac Mini, I was wondering if the Mac Mini is included in their Education Sceme?

I believe at least here in the UK you can get a discount on a qualifing Mac, aswell as a £65 GBP gift card for the mac app store, i checked to start off with on the page for the discount, but it only shows the MacBooks and iMac which all have discounts of hundred+

Can't seem to make Migration Assistant work. Doesn't ask about or transfer files.

I just migrated into a new MBP from an old one.
It did not bring the music over. Apple's instructions are to use the Home Sharing feature of iTunes.
Open iTunes on your old Mac. Select Home Sharing under the Advanced menu. Sign in. Do the same on your new computer. Then when the library appears under Home Sharing on the left-hand panel on your new computer's iTunes, you can select all and Add To Library.
That's what Apple says, anyway.

You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.

I have both an iPhone 5 and Ipad mini which both use iCloud and which I find great as my photos are shared between the both. I also have a Mac Book so thought I'd take the plunge and set it up on there too. However, it doesn't appear in the System Preferences. I have a MacBook Pro running Max OS X 10.6.8 and from viewing some documents on the Apple Website it says to go into System Preferences, and set up iCloud from under the Internet & Wireless section. The trouble is, I only have an option for MobileMe (which I am assuming has now been replaced by iCloud?). Can anyone tell me how I get 'MobileMe' updated, or get iCloud on my Mac please? It could be a POP account which means the first device which accesses the account gets the email unless the settings have been changed. Here are links to show what is involved. It may not mirror your circumstances though.
