Do I have a K7N2 Delta-ILSR????

Its my understanding that the K7N2 Delta-ILSR has the MCP2-T chip, but the chip I have where the MCP2-T should be has a label on it that says "MSI 400 FSB". So is this mobo a K7N2 Delta-ILSR or not? The only thing that I find printed on it is K7N2 and MS-6570 Ver 1.
Thanks for any help.

Then ? What about the MAX AMPS. asked ?
Yes you did ask for the AMP ratings. I spent 29 years trouble shooting high-end solid state equipment where incorrect voltages wreak havoc on IC chips so I assumed that is what you really wanted to know.
A power supply is going to handle the required current or its not.  If it can't handle it, shuts down. (Isn't there a question on the A+ certification test that address this? Jack adds a hard and the PC won't power up. Why? Answer: C. The power supply is too small.)  So why is Max AMP so important in trouble shooting my problem? I also think that Dr. Stu's Statement "if there is not enough current on the 12v rail, then the CPU cannot start" is incorrect. Basic ohms law: you need VOLTAGE and a LOAD (CPU) first to have current.
The max AMP rating for my PU is as follows +3.3v=35amp, +5v =28amp, and +12v= 22amp. The supply is out of an Avaya sever cabinet with no brand name on it. As I posted in an early post, "The power supply tests good". This is an assumption that I made because I just built a Pentium 3.4Gig a few days before I took on this project. But just to be sure I got out my oscilloscope with a current probe and a load box (light bulbs and a potentiometer) and tested each supply lead. The amp's far exceeded the ratings before the PU shut down each time.
So now back to my question from an early post: My POST card is telling me that the BIOS is stuck in "Reset" Does the BIOS get the reset from the CPU or does it come from the external short?

  • K7N2 DELTA-ILSR AND DDR-RAM

I got K7N2 Delta-ILSR, the last bios version, and
2x256 twinmos pc3200 ram. The 50% of the times the computer startes without problems, but the other 50% it gets hang up when I start the computer and the "d-Leds" indicate:" the memory module is damaged or not installed properly".
I know that the ram-modules works, but not with this Motherboard.
I need to get new ram-modules.

  • K7N2 Delta ILSR memory problem

I have a K7N2 Delta ILSR board with Athlon XP 2500 with 2 Gig of Mushkin Black Line ram (the ones that are
suppose to be CL2). I change the FSB to 200, and my memory won't run at CL2. Want to raise the Dram voltage
to 2.8V to see if it would make a difference. I looked all over this site for the modded bios 7.8. Does anyone
have the modded bios??? Any help would be appreciated.......

He/She overclocked the 2500+, to make it become a 3200+. Done it myself, but it mostly works with the first step of the 2500+. - That means the overclock forum.
Well, CAS 2 is a very tight timing, which I don't think is possible. In general on Socket A systems:
    - FSB 133/266 --> CAS 2 or 2.5
    - FSB 166/333 --> CAS 2.5
    - FSB 200/400 --> CAS 3

  • K7n2 delter ilsr raid

i have a k7n2 delter ilsr but i seam to be unable to use its raid when i add a harddrive to it keeps saying bios not installed is there anyway in removing it or is there a nack  to as theres nothing in the manuel for it. ???? ?(

    hi
my knowledge of raid is limited
the sata connectors and ide3 is part of raid.
if you add or remove any drive you have to define a new drive array.
when it says no bios it means no drives are connected.
atleast its why i get that message on my promise ultra100 tx2 ide controller card.
you have to push a certain button to get into raid bios.

    Hi,
No, leave it at 64 or 128.
    Go here for an explanation:
    http://www.rojakpot.com/default.aspx?location=7&var1=18
Then - Click on:  "Free Access To the BIOS Optimization Guide" near the bottom of the page - then click on "AGP Aperture Size"

  • Need help with jumper settings for k7n2 delta ilsr

I have a k7n2 delta ilsr and I'm using a AMD 2800+ barton 333 fsb. I'm not sure what the jumper settins are for this cpu. The users guide only shows 133/166 and 200, can anyone help me with the jumper settings.
    Thanks, Ron.

    Hi,
As your processor is 333FSB - the jumper should be set to 166FSB as should the BIOS. As your RAM CPU combination runs at 2x166=333 or thereabouts.
Basically, as a general rule, if you halve the FSB speed of your processor you'll get the setting for both BIOS and Jumper. 200FSB=100, 266FSB=133, 333FSB=166 etc. etc.

so you made the array control plus f i assume
have you set scsi second to cdrom

You first need to make sure you have the promise controller drivers installed for it to recognize the hard drive. The system should have came with a floppy disk with the drivers on it........Make sure your boot order is floppy drive/cdrom drive/sata/scsi........boot to the XP cd after you have the sata controllers installed......then run the XP disk setup partion/format/install.........after installation you can set boot order as sata/scsi as first boot device.

  • Best Cooler For XP 3000+ on K7N2-Delta ILSR?

As the title suggests I am looking for a good, high performance Heatsink and Fan for my current XP 3000+ system. I have a K7N2 Delta ILSR mobo. Three Heatsinks I have been looking at are:
    Thermaltake Volcano 12 Extreme
Thermalright SLK-900A with a Vantec Tornado 92mm fan
Thermaltake SilentTower - (I think this one requires holes in the Mobo which the K7N2 Delta ILSR doesn't have :( Please correct me if I am wrong).
I am looking for a high-performance heatsink at an affordable price (max £50) with which I can do some overclocking. Currently I have one of the Zalman ones ( I think it is a CNPS6000-CU) which is insufficient (load temps 66 C).  Help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, i'm looking for a good price vs performance vs noise solution really. Both the Volcano and the Vantec Tornado are really loud, but they seem to perform quite well.

  • [nForce] K7N2 Delta ILSR - Do i have to have raid with sata drive

    Hi guys,
Probably a really stupid question, but here goes
My machine has 1 ide HDD and 1 SATA HDD.
The SATA drive is set up as raid0 and is purely used as a data disk. The OS(win xp pro sp1) is on the IDE drive
The only way i could get the SATA HDD recognised by windows, was to set up a raid array with just the 1 disk.
Pretty useless raid array i know.
Did i have to do this or is there a way to have the sata hdd usable without having to set up a raid array
    Thanks

  • Someone plz help me with my k7n2 delta-ilsr

    Hey everyone,
I just put my sytem togother and ran into a problem.  I got the system to boot up just fine.  It was not until I tried installing windows xp proffesional that  I ran into problems.  The installation process runs pretty smoothly, until the computer reboots to run windows for the first time.  After it reboots the windows logo appears and the after 2 seconds or so, a blue screen appears saying that windows was shut down to prevent any damage to my computer.  I have never encountered this problem before when I built other systems.  The screen suggests that I should check my HDD's for viruses or check to see if they are configured correctly.  The HDD's are SATA and I have them set up in RAID 0 mode and yeah I installed the RAID drivers during the installation process.  Thinking that I had made mistake setting up the SATA drives, tried installing windows using a regular IDE hard drive and it gave the same message.  I am stumped anybody have any ideas of what I might be doing wrong?  Any help would be appreciated .  My system specs are below.

Winbond is no longer making BH-5 chips but is going to make a limited run of them as demend is high for them.
The first number shown here is the Traz and it controls the flush timing bench testing is showing that a higher number of 9, 10 or 11 or getting better bench results than the 6 or 5. Thats with Dual Channel memory.
The timing you show probly should be something  like 8 3 3 3 or 8 3 3 2.5 unless it is there faster Dual channel ram.
The timing numbers can also appear like this 2 2 2 5 the high number is the Traz either way.
Look on your memory manufactor web site for the timing that if should run at also look at the voltage as this can make a big differance.

  • HELP me with my K7N2 delta ilsr

Can anyone help me with this problem. I have just upgraded to MSI's K7N2 delta ilsr motherboard. Its all working quite well apart from the fact that the pc wont start up from cold....at all.
When I start the pc from an off state, it runs up the fans and drives, but does not post.
The diagnostic led pannel on the back of the pc shows that the cpu is faulty or not installed correctly.
If I then press the reset button, the pc posts, and boots up just fine.
It does this EVERY time I start up.
I have tried re installing the cpu, which is an XP 2800+ 333 barton, but to no avail.
I have asked a few questions on other forums, but I cant solve it.
These are the suggestions so far.
    1. the psu (I have a Tsunami 400 atx psu) could not be giving out enough power on initial startup, but once the pc is running, it has enough to boot the pc from a reset.
    2. The mobo or the bios could be at fault. I have not flashed the bios, or upgraded it in any way from original, so is there an issue with the original bios on these boards, and 2800 barton chips??? Could it be a mobo fault? The pc runs fine once the machine is booted.? how do I test it?
    3. The cpu could be faulty? but would this not stop it running fuull stop?
    4. my ram. I have a single stick of OCZ 512mb pc3200 ddr, which I was told would make the pc fly. Not shure on that statement, but is this ram compatible?? could this be the problem?
Im fairly new to the upgrade side of things, and I need some help with this one.
Also, Id be really greatfull if some one could talk me through flashing my bios to the latest version, as the thought of doing this narks me a bit...I dont want to mess it up and get a dead pc...
