Do I have a new mail address??

For many, many years, I had an AOL email account. Then, When Apple came out with iCloud and said that users would get a free .me email with it, I thought it was time for a change! So, ever since Icloud came out, I've had a .me email address but it seems as of recently (ever since I updated my iPhone's OS), I've noticed that my e-mail address now reads [email protected] Did Apple once again change their email service?? Do I need to send a mass e-mail to everyone I know about the change??

Go to Mail Preferences>Accounts. In the Account Information pane, in the Email Address field, check that you don't have the @icloud.com address (it probably isn't there, it wouldn't get there without your putting it there assuming you are running 10.6.8 as your signature states). Then it won't appear as an option when creating a new message.
At icloud.com go to to the Mail pane, click the cogwheel icon at top rght; choose 'Preferences'. Click 'Composing' in the toolbar of the pane which opens, and make sure 'Set a default address' is set to your @me.com address.

Can one have multiple e-mail addresses in iCloud?

My family shares one apple ID for purchases. This also works wonderfully for syncing our calendars with iCloud. However, I have one e-mail address and my wife has another. Is it possible to create two @me accounts and sync them across all of our devices with iCloud? Limiting e-mail to one e-mail address seems a little short-sighted.

I looked into using aliases as you mentioned and I think there is a workable solution here. I created two new folders "My inbox" and "wife inbox" and then created two rules that say when the e-mail is addressed to [email protected], move it to my inbox and when it's addressed to [email protected], move it to wife inbox. I think this will do nicely. Thanks, again!

Upgraded to Firefox 4 now can not access my inbox in email. Error message say I have undefined new mails in the inbox

Downloaded update toi mFirewfox 4. ISP is Talktalk. Can open My mail and get to screen with inbox but page seems to stopp loading then as it doesa not show amount of space being used etc which it normally does. Instead message says 'You have undefined new mails in your inbox' Nothing then happens and the button to open the inbox does not work. Can however access my email and inbox through Outlook express. Contacted TalkTalk help line and after running some checks was told that the problem is with the browser. Canb anyone help solve this please.

You mean the Apple Mail app? Updated through software Update in the Apple Menu?.
Or maybe you downloaded Mail from another source?

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted. If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I have a new email address and need to change my apple id to represent this. I can easily see how to do this & it says it will not create another account so effectively I am just updating details but because this will give me a new id name what I need to know is will everything else stay the same - will I still be able to update all my existing aps with my changed apple id name and keep my gamecenter friends & games as if nothing has changed? Has anyone done this and what happened? If I go ahead with the change, once I have updated it online do I just log out my id on my phone and then login my new id name? All apps will be tied to the apple id that was used to purchase the app. So if you change your id, and your apps need an update it will revert to the old apple id - the one you used to purchase it.

Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID.

I kind of agree with Philly on this one. If you get a new email address, there is no need to establish an entirely new account to use that address. You just need to modify your account to show the new email address. This way all your purchase history and rights to purchased apps stays in place. Creating a new iTunes/Apple account each time your email address changes really doesn't make sense in my opinion. I only point this out for future searchers who end up on this thread.

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

1. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID.
2. Tap your Apple ID

Can't get into talk talk email account in Mozilla, you have undefined new mails in your inbox message. No problem with Internet Explorer though

I've been using the Firefox browser for nearly a year now but for the past three days I can't open my tiscali email account via Firefox. The message "you have undefined new mails in your inbox" comes up. Talk Talk technical help says there is a problem with Firefox and advised me to use Internet Explorer. I can get into my account through Explorer but would much prefer to use Firefox so please help me out.

Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.

Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.

Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Create a new email address, for example at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address as long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.
