Do i have to buy iphoto 11' to use photostream?

I tried taking pictures with my iphone 4s and changing the icloud settings to stream the photos to my air, but it says something about needing to buy iphoto 11'... do i have to pay the 15 dollars for the new iphoto that didnt come with lion in order to use to photostream feature??

You sound like you're in the high-school debating club.
This seems to be an issue of semantics - when I say "Full screen photo editing (using the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)", I mean "Full screen photo editing (using the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)". When you use that phrase, you seem to mean "Not full screen photo editing (not being able to use the full screen for the photo with no compulsory sidebars)".
While you're perfectly free to define black as white, don't be surprised when it causes confusion. Let me spell it out for you as clearly as I can:
In iPhoto 09, you can use the full screen to see and edit your photo.
In iPhoto 11, you cannot.
That is a loss of functionality.
To be honest I have not looked at it in a couple of month - I am genuinely interested in whether the bugs in 11 have been fixed - I'm excited that they have fixed the 10 photo limit - that's certainly progress - the same for the side-by-side comparison editing - although I presume the toolbar bug is still present there?
Thanks!

  • Have to buy iPhoto again to update it?

I just bought a new MacBook Pro that was delivered on 5/1 (with iPhoto 9.2.1) and the app store says there is an update for iPhoto to 9.2.3. But when I click update is says I have to buy iPhoto first.  I thought I just bought iPhoto as a part of the MacBook Pro. Do I really need to buy it again?

    Go to the App Store
    Click on the Purchases List
    Accept iPhoto
    Then you can update.

I bought a laptop Macbook a year ago (January). It had Snow Leopard on it, but somehow the 8.x iPhoto. I just upgraded it and my my 2008 iMac to Lion. The old computer has iPhoto 9.x on it. So I am wondering why it says I have to buy the upgrade for a newer computer? Any ideas? I want to sync my photos with all my devices (Macbook, iPad, iPhone) through the cloud.

Not if you purchased it from the App Store. But if it's part of the iLife boxed set, then you have to repurchase. But you can purchase on the App Store which then lets you install it on as many computers as you own.

  • HT1848 If I bought PAGES for iPad do I have to buy it again to use on my Mac?

I'm wondering if things I have purchased on iPad, especially pages and numbers, can be somehow transferred to my new Mac or do I have to buy them again?
    Thanks

You bought programs for ios devices.  The Mac is a different platform.
Ios programs do not work on your computer.

  • Why did i have to buy iPhoto when i realised my daughters macbook had it preinstalled

why did i have to pay for iphoto when my daughters identical macbook came with it pre-installed??

Apple is not here. Apple does not answer questions here.
There are only users here who have no idea the answer to your question whith so little information. What year did you buy your Mac and your daughter's Mac. What MacBook model's are they both? From whom did you buy them, directly from Apple or a 3rd party vender? The more details the better to offer ideas.

  • Do you have to buy Iphotos?

I was wondering this. I want photos on my Ipod 5th generation but I can't seem to figure it out.

    No problem, f
First, you are in the iPhoto for Mac forums so you need to jump over to the respective iPod for Windows forum.

  • Do I have to buy two licences to use aperture on two MacBooks (mine and my wife's)

Was wondering if I need to purchase two licences to have a copy of aperture installed on the two MacBooks we now own. I understand the limitations of working concurrently, but we might each want to use this produce at different times

If you buy Aperture from the AppStore, the licence entitles you to install Aperture on any Apple branded computer you own or control (for private purposes).  So an installation on the second MacBook should be no problem.
Just sign into the AppStore on the second Mac with the same AppleID you used to buy Aperture on the first Mac and you should be able to download and install it.
The currently sold Aperture version from the AppStore requires MacOS X 10.9.1 installed. Are your Macs compatible?

  • What type of external hard drive do I have to buy that I can use on my mac and windows computer as well

I want to buy an external hard drive that will work on my imac and windows computer

Most all off the shelf External Hard Drives are formatted so that they can be used with both platforms. Just stay away from discount and off name brands.

  • Do I really have to buy a router to use Airport Express?

I want to use my AX for USB printing and Airtunes, not networking. But it won't work unless it gets an IP address assigned to it, which can only be done while it is connected to a wired network via Ethernet cable. (This is not mentioned in the manual nor in online help, but it's true.) It cannot be setup wirelessly unless it's a network access point. I don't ned a wireless access point, I just want to be able to print.
I don't use a router; my Mac is directly connected to a DSL modem via Ethernet, and there are no other Ethernet ports on the modem. How can I connect my Mac and AX to the Ethernet so I can configure it? Is a hub sufficient? Or does the AX really require a router to be configured?
Or do I have to set it up as a wireless access point? In that case, will remote printing and AirTunes still work?

I had almost the same setup at one time. I just used the AE setup utility and it worked fine. If I remember correctly, the setup utility allows you to talk to the AE via the macs built in airport card. I don't think I connected to the AE with a cable, but honestly don't recall. If you have to do that for a setup, just disconnect from the dsl temporarily. Plug the mac and AE together via ethernet and setup from there.
I didn't have a usb printer connected, but otherwise that's how I set it up and it all worked.....until I added a second computer and a wireless router, now airTunes wouldn't work if I had Steve Jobs himself wired in directly.
AirTunes and AE seems to be a big mess that Apple just can't, or hasn't tried to, get right. For the most simple setup, one straight wireless connection from mac to AE, it works okay, otherwise it's a can of worms.

  • Restoring from backup-used demo-do I have to buy to restore?

I trashed the .sparseimage file from my home folder. and now of course I can't log in to that user. I've given up recovering it because it was encrypted with file vault and I didn't shut down right away. kept trying things. problem is the file is still lurking because boomerang found it. consequently, I haven't been able to turn off file vault because I don't have enough space. I want to turn off file vault, delete the user and then restore from a backup I have on an external drive. Do I have to buy the program I used to create the backup (memeo life agent) or is there another way to get those files from the external drive loaded on to my iMac's hard drive. should I reformat the drive first?

I was advised by an Apple tech to do an erase and install. After that, I tried just dragging my files from the backup on the external drive but even as careful as I was to include everything, my applications have to be reinstalled from discs. I contacted Memeo this morning to see if I can restore from a backup created by the demo. I'll let you know when I have an answer. while I was moving files and doing software updates, my machine crashed twice. since my apple care is running out next week, I'm concerned. I talked to a tech last night who said I only have a 90-day warranty on the logic board Apple replace a couple of months ago. I'm thinking of taking it in this weekend to make sure everything is ok before apple care runs out.

  • I have iphoto 9.1.5 0n my imac (10.6.8). when i go to apple store to buy iphoto 9.2.3, it  says it's already installed.

Why would you buy iPhoto 9.2.3 when you have iPhoto 9 already. The path from .1.5 to .2.3 is an update. Try run Software Update on your Mac.

You must use the same Apple ID used for the original iPhoto purhcase.
Open the App Store then select Purchases from the menu top of that window.
Click Download to the right of iPhoto.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
