iam trying to buy OS Lion to my Imac but i can not buy  because its saying Mac OSX 10.7 requires at least 2 GB of memomie and mine has 1 GB what can i do?

If it's just a question of memory, you can buy and install more. It could also be that your iMac is just not compatile with Lion.
    Minimum requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • I have just installed Mountain Lion over Snow Leopard, I now can't open Photoshop?

Hi everyone, I have just installed Mountain Lion over Snow Leopard. The installation went smooth and woks well. Now I find that Ican't open either Photoshop CS or Microsoft Word. I upgraded in order to install Lightroom 5, obviously there is now an incompatability, is there a work around?

If that is the original Photoshop CS, and Word 2004 or earlier, then they won't open because Lion and Mountain Lion do not support PowerPC apps. They must be Intel code. Snow Leopard could run them because it included Rosetta, a PowerPC to Intel (and back) interpreter.
    You have a few options.
    1) Go back to Snow Leopard.
    2) Update your apps to compatible versions.
    3) If you have Mountain Lion because newer apps require it then:
    a) Install Snow Leopard Server (currently being sold by Apple for $20) in a VM such as Parallels, and then run your PPC apps in the VM.
    b) Install Snow Leopard on a separate partition and boot to that version of OS X when you need to use those older apps.

  • I want to transfer most of my photos from my iPhoto library to my external hard drive. I have been getting the message that my start up disk is almost full. I want to transfer and then remove them from my computer and have them only stored externally.

My start up disk needs more space and I have tons of photos on my computer that I want to transfer to my external hard drive and remove from my computer to free up space. How can I do this and make sure all my photos are still properly saved and transferred. I dont need to transfer my whole iPhoto library just some really old albums.

    Here is some help.

After confirming that all your stuff is on the drive, delete the photos you have copied. You will need to empty the iPhototrash to free up the space.

  • HT4718 i have sent all my photo's to the trash bin by a big mistake, and then trashed them also how can i get these back to my albums please

I have sent all my album photo's to the recycle bin and then proceeded to empty the trash bin totally..........what a stupid thing for me to do my only excuse is this apple is all new to me and those photo's were/are so precious to me.
Can anyone tell me how i can retreive them all back..i have no idea what i am doing at all
    Senior moment i think

Did you empty the iPhoto trash? (left side bar) If not you should be able to drag them out. If you did empty the iPhoto trash, did you empty the computer trash? If you did then they are most likely gone. You can try something like Data Rescue 3, it may be able to recover some. The software is not cheap.
You can also try a data recovery service, they may or may not be able to recover some for you, but it will be  very expensive.
You can also click GO>Go to folder in the menu bar (SHIFT COMMAND G) short cut, and type (or copy/paste) in this and see if there is anything in the trash folder.    ~/.Trash     then click go, press return
    Good luck

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Pages for the iPad and Pages for a Mac are completely different, so you have to purchase them twice, one for the iPad and another one for the Mac. The only advantage is that, if you buy another iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, you will be able to install Pages for free on all of them.
As you are running Mac OS X 10.6.8 on the MacBook, you can't purchase Pages from the App Store, so you have to buy iWork '09 on a DVD on Amazon or eBay in order to install it

  • I have an Ipod shuffle but i don't understand how it works? I created an Apple account and then went to iTunes to buy music but it's telling me I need an account.

How do i download music for iPod Shuffle?

You can't. The only way to get songs in the Music app is to sync from a computer or to download from iTunes.

  • Why do we have to buy mountain lion when we bought lion? Others who didn't purchase lion don't have to pay for it to move to mountain lion

why do we have to buy mountain lion when we bought lion? Others who didn't purchase lion don't have to pay for it to move to mountain lion.

As far as I know the only people not having to pay for Mountain Lion are the ones that have purchased a apple computer after the 4th of june or something. These people get a free upgrade. All others will have to pay for a copy of Mountian Lion.
Do you maybe have a source, which states that others don't have to pay for it, where people that have bought Lion do have to pay?
    With kind regards,
    Wes

  • I use MB pro with Lion OSX 10.7.5 and Now I have bought MB Air with Mountain Lion,Can I transfer my MB Pro stuff running Lion to MB air running Mountain Lion or do I need to buy Mountain Lion for my Pro to create a backup and then transfer ,thnx

I use MB pro running Lion OSX 10.7.5 and Now I have bought MB Air with Mountain Lion,Can I transfer my MB Pro stuff running Lion to MB air running Mountain Lion or do I need to buy Mountain Lion for my Pro and create a backup and then transfer ,Although I want Mountain Lion for my MB Pro but can I use the one from MB Air,thnx?

    Hello,
If you just do a normal time machine backup on your macbook pro and then plug that harddrive into your new air; you should be able to just use migration assistant to transfer all your files. You wouldnt need to upgrade to mountain lion on your macbook pro.
    Hope it helps,
    Ryan

  • If you buy mountain lion, can you put it on both of your machines, or do you have to buy it for each?

If you buy Mountain Lion, can you put it on both of your machines or do you have to buy it for every device....?

You can use it on all the Macs you own. To save time downloading, after you DL it the first time, choose "Install Later". Then duplicate the "Install Mac OS X ML" in your Applications folder and save it off to disk. Then go back and double-click on "Install Mac OS X" in your Applications folder to begin the install.

  • If I'm running Lion, will I have to buy Mountain Lion to get the new features?

If I'm running Lion, will I have to buy Mountain Lion to get the new features? Or will the features also be sold as appts?

Apple charges less for OSX upgrades than most apps cost.  I wouldn't bet on having them separated out, but you can use Messages now, since it's a beta.  But I believe that even that gets shut off by Apple once 10.8 comes out.
I think you should just focus on getting Mountain Lion.  Also, remember, the Terms of Use for this forum precludes us from speculating on what Apple will or won't do with new products/software/etc.

  • When I will have os X mountain lion, if I buy an app, will I be abble to play the same game on my ipod without buy it again?

When  I will have os X mountain lion on my imac, if I buy an app, do I will be abble to play the same game on my ipod?

If you buy an iOS app, it is yours for all your iOS devices. However, some apps are specific for the iPad while others are specific for the iPod Touch or iPhone.
Mac OS X apps are totally separate and must be purchased separately.

  • Creating my own Fusion Drive: Do I need to buy Mountain Lion from the app store to reinstall the OS? Do I lose the iLife apps?

I just bought a Mac Mini (late 2012) with a 1TB HDD and I'm planning to install a second drive, an SSD (Samsung 840 evo) and create the Fusion Drive, and I have a couple of questions:
1- I've read lots of articles on how to do this but I'm not sure if I have to buy Mountain Lion from the app store (to reinstall the OS after I install the second drive) since I'm not able to see it on the "Purchased" list of apps, or if I can just reinstall OS X with OS X Utilities.
2- I read somewhere that if I make my own Fusion Drive when I reinstall OS X I will lose iLife, is this true? Or will I be able to redownload it from the store? I really don't want to lose iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand and I'm confused about it.
Thanks in advance for any help and information you can give me!

Thankyou very much lllaass, that's exactly what I wanted to be sure about!
