my computer had a virus and i had to get a new hard drive
now i have none of my files
is there anyway i will be able to get my purchased songs back??
or will i have to buy them again???
also my hard drive doesnt work so i cant put in any cds

Put them back the same you did originally. Connect your iPad to your computer via USB and re-sync the music you want back to your iPad using iTunes.

You may want to do a Restore on the shuffle in iTunes. The Restore button is on the shuffle's Summary screen in iTunes. This will erase the shuffle, re-install its software, and set it to default settings. If it's a software or data corruption glitch, the Restore should fix it. After the Restore, reload or resync your songs, and try it again. As a test, you may want to initially select a small number of songs to put back on the shuffle.

You need to upgrade the iMac to Mac OS X 10.6.3 and then 10.6.8; the installer won't run on 10.5.8, and it won't install onto a 10.5.8 system if run from a compatible OS.

i recently deleted itunes on accident and had to reinstall again. Now i have get all 600 songs i downloaded all over again. my songs werent purchased from itunes so i cant transfer purchases to library. is there a way to transfer my music into my library again so i dont have to go through the agony of obtaining all of them again? please please help

My computer crashed and I lost everything. I got a new one and downloaded itunes all over again. When I plug my ipad in even after authorising my computer it will still not let me edit anything on the ipad. The screen is grey like on the ipad section and i cant select an app or anything. I have transfered purchase apps but all it does is take movies and tv shows accross. It wont transfer the apps into itunes. Please help

As far as I know, iTunes will still not change anything until you click on Apply in the lower right corner. I fiddle with my settings all the time - just so I can get a sense if what to expect should I make any changes - and I have never seen anything happen to my configuration unless I click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes. Not only that - you have turned off auto sync so as far as I know you still have to click on sync or apply in order for the iPad to sync with iTunes.
That doesn't mean it will not happen, I've never seen it happen - is all that I'm saying. I'm sorry but I'm not sure what will happen, but the only reason that I can of why the apps will not transfer is because of the manual manage setting. I could be wrong about that as well.
Look at this discussion - which I have referred quite a few users to read. I know this process has worked for a number of people that have read it and used the instructions in it. Maybe we are missing something - what that would be - I'm not quite sure, but take a look.

HT1498 Why do rented movies on AppleTV have to start the download all over again if I didn't watch it yesterday?

I rented a 1080p movie using AppleTV (3rd gen) several days ago. But the download time was so slow that I decided to let it download & watch it another day. Two days later I tried to watch it and the long slow download started all over again. So again I let it load intending to watch it the next day. When I wanted to watch it yesterday SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN! Why is this happening? Isn't ATV's hard drive big enough to store it? The movie cover always showed in the "rented" section but obviously wasn't really there.

Yes - presumably you've set up Home Sharing and can stream from the Mac using the Computers icon to access your itunes library on AppleTV?
If you rent in iTunes you have to wait for the whole movie to download (appleTV lets you watch when it thinks the length of the movie is long enough to complete the download as you watch).
Once downloaded via iTunes it'll stay on the Mac for up to 30 days, but will also be available on AppleTV under a new Rentals column in the Computers section for your iTunes library - Rentals appears along with Movies, TV Shows etc but only when there's a fully downloaded rental to stream from the computer.
One thing to be aware of is that some titles are only available in HD on AppleTV not via iTunes.
You might want to experiment SD vs HD anyway as SD downloads far quicker.

With a new modem do I have to set it up all over again?

I just moved home from college. I set the AirPort Express up while I was down there using a modem down there. I plugged in my AirPort Express at home and plugged in the ethernet cable from my home modem to my AirPort Express and it is not working. My question is, do I have to set up the AirPort Express all over again on my MacBook? It is the same MacBook by the way. Also, if this is the case, and I have to re-install the set up software, what do I do if I have lost the software? I hope I'm not screwed. Thanks.

Are the two modems of the same type, e.g. cable modem or DSL? What was connected to that home modem before you tried to connect the AirPort Express to it? Did you reset the home modem, perhaps by unplugging it for a few minutes, when you switched devices?
The AirPort Utility program that you used to configure the AirPort Express should still be installed on your Mac unless you deleted it. If you did that (why?), you can download it from Apple's Web site.

I got a new iPhone because my old one broke. I backed it up before it broke though and when I signed in to iCloud on my new phone it told me I couldn't back it up because my new iPhone wasn't on ios7 and my old one was. So I had to set it up as a whole new phone and I don't have my pictures or anything but when I go to iCloud it shows me I have the back up from my previous phone but I don't know how to down load it? Should I rest my whole phone so I can use the back up in the set up screen and if I should how do I reset the whole phone?

Would you buy your MacBook all over again?

Just curious. I'm thinking, now that I'm experiencing these sharp edges and periodic mooing in addition to a grudgingly slow wireless Internet connection, that I wouldn't. I'd go with a "comparable" PC laptop. All these problems, they just aren't worth the conversion to Mac OS X in my humble opinion.

I so enjoy this little computer that I want MORE! I like its small size. I like its speed. It is so easy to use. I love its versatility with being able to run nearly any OS you throw at it via VM appliances.
I think I wish I had held off, waited til the 15" MacBook Pro had its kinks worked out (if there are any), and bought that one instead.
These new Macintosh notebook computers (notice I didn't type laptop) are da bomb! GO APPLE!
But, I think I want the MacBook Pro or whatever is coming up in the future, especially for the graphics card. For *ME*, I feel the need for a bit more horsepower in the graphics.
So, would I have done purchased this little honey if I had to do it again... I just am not sure, but if I hadn't, my want-to-EYE and radar would be looking over the horizon as to what Apple will be doing in the way of tweaking the product line.

What web browser are you using?
What type of connection do you have to your isp? phone line, dsl, cable, fios...

As the link in another post indicates, you can dwnload some media again. This will not get your playlists back, just the media you purchased from iTunes. You'll have to start over again in terms of playlists, ratings, play count, and any other customization you may have done.
It is well worth considering purhcasing an external hard drive to back up your files for situations such as this, or looking at the iTunes Match service (which is not the same as a backup drive) You didn't mention iTunes movies but if you had any, you cannot download those a second time.

You buy one download and one download only, it is your responsibility to backup your music.
it has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases
