Do I have to buy the upgrade for aperture after installing Yosemite
Recently accepted the auto update to Yosemite. Now my apeture won't work and says the version I have doesn't work with Yosemite. I have 2.1.4
Do I have to buy the new version in order to use aperture? If so ...RIP OFF

I believe it's a free upgrade.
Then you believe wrong.
Did you check on the App Store or just came to an uninformed opinion?
Good question

And to save yourself some time, copy the installer to a USB drive before using it on the first computer. Then you won't have to wait for the long download on the second one, only the install time itself.

i have upgraded my pages in my ipad but i cant read it when i send it to my macpro? do i have to buy the apps for my imac? If i have to can I revert to the old one meaning the pages before the upgrading?
If you have iWork 09, then the latest version should be available for free in the Mac App Store. If you have the new version on your iPad, then you'll need the new version on your Mac as well. The whole point of the latest version is that you can access and edit your files equally on iPad/iPhone, Mac, and also through the iCloud website.

and my Mac will be able to download 11.05 itunes update correct? Or will I have to buy the upgrades all the way to OS X Mountain Lion? All I want to do is confirm that if i get this upgrade my new ipad will be able to connect to my itunes!
Yes, assuming you are not already running Snow Leopard.
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
Snow Leopard General Requirements
1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
2. 1GB of memory
3. 5GB of available disk space
4. DVD drive for installation
5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
fees may apply.
6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
terms apply. -
If I upgrade to Lion do I also have to buy the upgraded i Work suite? I just bought I Work from Apple three months ago.
You don't have to buy the new version and you aren't forced to apply the updater 9.1

I may have totally screwed myself but...after installing Yosemite without checking for potential problems with Adobe software, my CS4 Design Premium suite wouldn't open. So after consulting some forums, I deinstalled it, but I only have disks for my old CS3. When I got the CS4 upgrade I downloaded it, back in 2011... What can I do?? Everything was fine before I upgraded that *#$%* Yosemite.
You can find the CS4 download here: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs4-product-downloads.html

Hi everyone. I both a Mac Pro 15" in March 2009. Five month ago I was forced to buy by one new hard drive and extent the memory, because I had to make the upgrade (and pay) to install the new Lion operation system. Four days ago the Mother-board fails. To change it will cost a fortune. What should I do or expect from Apple to solve this problem? I am very disappointed because my trust on Apple was destroyed.
I am not sure why you are upset with Apple. Electronics equipment does fail. If the product is out of warranty or you do not have AppleCare there's not much you can do with Apple. Apple will charge you for the repair. Suggest you look for a third party repair store since they are usually less expensive than Apple. Alternatively you can buy one for about $850US and install it yourself. Sorry, but there aren't many choices in this situation.

I have 8.1.2 an '09 version. I just upgraded my operating system to Lion so that my new ipad, iphone and mac can all sync effortlessly. (i was told)
But I understand my photo stream will not work unless I upgrade iphoto to '11. Some versions have to buy it and some don't. Do I have to buy it?When the first digit of the version changes ( iPhoto '09 to '11) you have to buy an upgrade - go to the app store

Yes you have to.

Thanks in advance!
you have the purchased (not subscription) version of lr 6 (as an upgrade to lr5).
if all that is correct, then when you start your lr 6 installation you will be prompted for the lr 6 serial number. if lr 5 is not installed you will then be prompted for your lr 5 serial number.
if you enter the correct number at the correct time, installation should proceed. -
Is this a cd that I can buy at the Apple store or what are my options?
If you're using a PowerPC Mac, buy it from a source such as Amazon or eBay.
If you're using an Intel Mac, skip 10.5 and buy 10.6 from the online Apple Store.
