Do i have to clear cmos after updating bios?
hi im about to update my bios to 1.9 ... do i have to clear cmos after bios update finish? and also clearing cmos is as easy as removing the battery for a while then putting it back in right?
in my opinion Clear Cmos should be always done after flashing,
to ensure that new BIOS will operate as intended

I have 970 GAMING w/ FX8320, it shows black screen when boot on cold start, have to clear CMOS everytime to enter default.
I have updated it to the up to date M11 bios. Once it boot up, it functions OK no matter whether you reboot or reset it. But after turned off a few hours (cooled down), it shows on black screen again on boot, all LED lights up OK, but I can hear the fan like keep rebooting, any idea?

A horrible experience I had with my last build reminded me of it. My board was am MSI A88XM-E45. DIMM1 is blue, DIMM2 is black, DIMM3 is blue, & DIMM4 is black. When using two sticks of RAM, it says to install one on DIMM1 & the other in DIMM3 (Makes sense... After all, it's color colored that way).
Well it would not boot. I reseated every component and for HOURS tried almost everything. Finally I decided to place my two sticks of RAM in the first two DIMMS and viola!
I think I will begin this build the same way. -
I don't have Safary and facetime after update with IOS 7 my Iphone 4S, and sometimes the Wife is no able.

When I click on the button to download the new IOS software, I get a message saying that all the items on my iTouch will be removed. Will I have to reload everything after updating the software? Because I had to have my hard drive wiped a while back, I have items on my iTouch that are not in my iTunes. Is there a way to copy everything on the iTouch into iTunes, if necessary, before I load the new software?
It is possible to transfer purchases from your iPod back into iTunes before updating the OS. If you had any CDs from your personal collection, these you have to put back into iTunes manually. Hope this helps you & good luck!

That's exactly right. And since you have a MacBook Air (as I do), that means the synching should occur just fine (if you've set it up right in iTunes). In other words, once you actually do the update, the iTunes on your MacBook Air will re-sync your photos back to your iPhone.
Basically, the process is that your iPhone gets backed up, wiped clean, then the new iOS version gets installed, then the backup gets restored. That will restore everything in the article above, which does not include your photos. But the sync process that happens after the iOS installation would restore your photos from iPhoto given you've set it up that way in iTunes.
When you have your iPhone plugged into iTunes, while looking at the iPhone's summary page, click "Photos" on the right side of iTunes to see how you have your sync set up.
Regardless, it sounds like you'll be fine! Your photos will wind up in iPhoto once you place them there. They will be safe there. -

Black screen after updating bios
My tablet turned black screen and couldn't do anything after updating bios provided by official hp page. I know that there is a way to enter into bios recovery, but my tablet doesn't have keyboard. Please provide me the solution.

I am having the same problem, I was updating my bios.. followed all directions which is necessary to update them.
And then when it was almost ready it said "Bios update is not responding" so I waited... and waited because I did not want to abort it but then Vista aborted it for me.
Well at first it did not seem to be a problem but then I noticed that I could not click anything (was still in windows @ that time did not reboot yet) then I wanted to reboot but nothing worked.. Pressing off button for a time to shut down did not work.. So eventually power was out. And it shut down.
So I hooked it up again but nothing happened. Pressing the "on" button made it start.. The DVD-drive loaded for a second but... that is it just a black screen :S
Going to bring it back to the shop tomorrow.

As the title says, I've got this unwanted black screen after updating BIOS with update utility from here http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds037429
What I've tried :
- power / battery out, pressing power button several times for short / long and longer time
- BIOS battery out for about half an hour
- wincrisis with USB bootable stick and BIOS extracted from BIOS update utility from support.lenovo
- different combinations of keys such as : FN + B / F / R +/- win key

Must Clear CMOS after power outage...
Hi everyone
Every time I disconnect my computer from the
power or switch off the power on the PSU i have
to clear my CMOS to be able to start.
(i.e. the power button will not work)
After that everything works fine until the
next power outage....
I've tried replacing the battery a few times
but does no seem to help either.
Any clues or hints? It's getting a bit annoying
to have to set all the BIOS settings at every power outage

- I took out the battery and put it back
- Load BIOS default first and then Load High performance Defaults
- I used to use keyboard key as wake up event but disabled that
feauture for now.
- I've set the "Restore on AC/Power Loss"="Power off"
It seems to work with "Power On" to but I suspect that
"last state" together with keyboard wake up events is what
might be causing this....
I'm happy it works now so I'm not going to change anything
with this system for now

Clear CMOS after every crash ?
After putting together a new system I have this problem.
When the PC freezes, and this happens instantly if I hit the "auto" button in the CoreCentre pannel it will refuse to boot up again. To unfreeze it I turn the main power off for a few seconds and upon turning it back on the MB comes to life for half a second and shuts down. This happens over and over, on its own. The CPU fan kicks in along with the blinky leds on the MB fan, and the power led on the front pannel comes up ..... only for half a second on, 1 second off, half second on etc.
Only way to cure is to clear CMOS ram and the system will fire up as norm.
Ideas?

Z77MA G45 problem after updating Bios to V1.9
Hi, recently I updated the bios for my motherboard to V1.9, and after that I keep having some problems. Firstly my board now won't start again after I have done changes in the BIOS unless I unplug the 24 pin power connector from the PSU and plug it in again.
Also now my PC will randomly crash saying my graphic driver is giving me a problem. Initially I thought it was my graphic card, but it still persists, even after updating the graphic drivers, and even changing cards. Heck, I even tried both nVidia and ATI, and both will crash the board randomly.
Any suggestions? like downgrading the Bios?

Do you have the notebook mentioned in the title, an HP Mini 100e? If not, which model/product number do you have? Pressing the FN + ESC keys is the quickest way to bring up that information or you can check out these steps to find your model/product number. You can also get your current BIOS version from FN + ESC. Your current BIOS version would be helpful as well. Alternative steps to find BIOS version if FN + ESC doesn't work.
Have you made any hardware changes? Would you happen to know if this issue occurred right after a BIOS update?
