Do I have to line up at 8am at the Apple Store to get my pre-order?
I pre-ordered on line as soon as he apple store went back online following the WWDC. My questions is do I need to line up at 8am or can I stroll in around 3pm and claim my phone? I don't want to wait in line for hours...
i think the only way to pay for one now would be have it set for delivery to your house... i placed my order last tuesday and it hasnt shipped yet, i talked to an apple rep who said it should be here the 19th so you might still be able to have it delivered by the 19th

You have the iPhone in your profile, but people's profiles here are often incomplete or very outdated. It's better to be specific. And part of the problem is that I can't find any Belkin composite cables for connecting an iPhone to a TV, either on the Apple Store or the Belkin site. The closest I found is this Belkin video cable, which doesn't specify exactly what kind of connection it is.

When setting up my apple id for the apple store I get to the credit card screen and it tells me I have to contact support to finish. I can't seem to contact support as there is no number for them on this type of issue. How the **** to I talk to a person who can fix this?
It's a real problem when you're deployed outside the US and your billing address, though totally correct, is not. This seems to be a common complaint. I think the billing address vs. your present location causes some security concern or similar nonsense that prevents progress.
The only way I know of to resolve this is to contact iTunes Support by email. I have never had to wait more than a day for a response:

The response should not be "automated'. Explain your circumstances. You deserve a personalized response. -
i was trying to update my iphone 5 to the new iOS but some how in between it kept crashing. after a few attempts to install the update it automatically gave me the screen to which it was asking to plug into itunes and making the phone disfunctional . i dont have access to itunes and wont for a few more days. can i just take it to the apple store and have them update the phone to where is now functional?

I have just updated my iphone 4s with ios7. Since then i cannot play movies from my netflix app using my av cable to tv. which i baught from an apple store. i get a message saying turn off mirroring on airplay. i dont have airplay or an apple TV. what can i do?

hope this message finds you all in time. The recent Apple TV update 5.1 is terrible. Apple knows it is which is why (thankfully for some relentless user -I have no idea who but I believe it was under threat) they have allowed to sign 5.0.2 again which means you can downgrade your Apple TV 2 and 3 to a 5.0.2 version via iTunes. Who knows how long they will keep the window open but I have downgraded my ATV early this morning. I couldn't post this earlier because I was out all day but I am doing it now.
Here's how to do it:
1) Connect your ATV to your computer via a Mini USB (not included with ATV but included with many other electronic devices) - in order for your ATV to appear in iTunes you must FIRST plug the USB cable to your computer and ATV and only THEN plug the power cable.
2) Download your ipsw restore file from Apple.
5.0.2 (ATV 2): AppleTV2,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
5.0.2 (ATV 3): AppleTV3,1_5.0.2_9B830_Restore.ipsw
3) In iTunes select yout ATV, hold SHIFT and click on Restore
4) Find and choose the downloaded IPSW file in the Open Dialog Box and hit Next
5) As long as Apple still signs that version the Restore process will begin and will take a few minutes to complete.

Lion was released in July 20, 2011. Any NEW Mac sold after that date is entitled to Lion AFAIK. If you purchased yours from some seller that had it aging on the shelf since God-knows-when, contact Apple and see if you can get some sort of redeem code to download Lion from the Apple Store for free.
Older used/refurbished Macs are entitled to the OS in force at the time of their manufacture and should come with the installation media as a condition of sale. Apple MAY provide you with replacement media for a cost, if at all. Lion upgrades will have a cost and the Mac must follow an upgrade path thru Snow Leopard before Lion can be installed via an online download. -

The Vodaphone store in Australia says there is no difference between a sim for an iPhone to any other phone. But it still doesn't recognise the sim. Is it because sims in the UK are different for iPhones than android phones? It seems rather unfair that I can't use the phone that I purchased unlocked in the UK in another country. I also have a 4S which I was using to keep my UK sim in while in Australia. That was also purchased unlocked from the Apple Store. I haven't tried it but would it be any different?
If your phone is officially unlocked, it should work fine on any supported carrier's network. Are you getting any error messages when you insert the sim?

Just installed Mt. Lion on my iMac; can I also install it on my MacBook or do I have to buy it at $20 again from the Apple Store?
And why is it a huge hassle every time I try to sign in on the Apple site? With multiple reports that my password is wrong and I have to answer a series of security questions...I've had the same since 1985!You can freely install it on the MacBook. If you didn't keep a copy of the installer, sign in with the Apple ID you used to purchase it, click on the Purchases tab, and download it from there.

Most likely you have Office 2004 which are PPC-only applications and will not work in Lion. Upgrade to Office 2011. Other alternatives are:
Apple's iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.)
Open Office (Office 2007-like suite compatible with OS X.)
NeoOffice (similar to Open Office.)
LibreOffice (a new direction for the Open Office suite.) -

The least expensive way to repair (although it will void your warranty) is to go to ebay and search ipod touch 4th glass service and there are people who do it for as low as $60. -
For some unknown reason, I am unable to sync my ipad2 with my desktop. I receive a message saying it cannot sync due to an unknown error 1140.

It seems to have something with large iPhoto Libraries, because when I started iPhoto up with a small library (1,100 photos), the problem did not occur. In iTunes, under the Photo's option "Sync Photos," if the iPhoto library is large (38,000 photos), the option to select the radio button "Selected albums, Events, and Faces" is grayed out, and you cannot select it.
My guess is that since the large iPhoto library will not fit on your iOS device, iTunes throws the 1140 error.

I want to go to the apple store and get a replacement but it is under my dads name.. Does he have to be there for me to replace it?? ThanksI'd suggest you call the Apple Store and ask to make sure. They may insist on your father being present since the iPhone was purchased by him, but quite probably they won't care. They usually don't check ownership of the iPhone since many are purchased as gifts or sold to someone else.

The apple store is so unhelpful. I have an iMac computer operating on Mac OSX 10.5.8. I want to upgrade to the latest Mountain Lion operating system so I can work with the iCloud on my computer and download my emails. I can't seem to purchase this on-line as it keeps telling me to go to the app store. I haven't got the app store on my computer as I am told I need iCloud for which I need the new operating system, which I can't download or purchase as I am sent back to an instruction telling mee to go to the app store icon.
How difficult can it be to simply purchase the software on-line have it shipped to you so you can install it, in the event it cannot be downloaded as it appears it can't be based on my curent operating systems being Mac OSX 10.5.8.Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'

Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from download, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $30. You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number.
