Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

  • I currently have the iPhone 4 and want to upgrade to the 5S, but would that require a change of plan?

Im not sure if it would cause a 3G to 4G change?

The data plan is the whether or or not you have a 3G or 4G phone. However if you have the unlimited data plan and want to upgrade under contract, you will be required to change the data plan to a tiered data plan.

  • I have the original iPad and want to upgrade the operating system and do not have a home computer available to go through iTunes to upgrade it. Is there a place that I can take it to upgrade it for me?

I have the ipad1 and want to upgrade the IOS system and do not have a home computer to do it. Is there someplace I can take it and have it done for me professionally? I checked with Best Buy and they declined.

A physical Apple Store. If you want to do it yourself, you can use any computer with an Internet connection.

  • Have 10.4 recovery discs, but running on 10.5 and want to upgrade to 10.6?

    Hi all!
1st qn: I have a mid-07 MB that came with OSX 10.4. Then last December the HDD crashed and i sent it for repair. The technician installed 10.5 onto my MB but i wasn't allowed to exchange my recovery discs to the 10.5 ones. I was told that in the event i needed to do a restore, my OSX 10.5 would be restored back to a 10.4 since my discs are 10.4 ones.
My question is if i go for the $29 upgrade pack, is it alright? I will be getting a new set of installation+recovery discs?
I'm a relatively new Mac user and never did an OS upgrade before, i'm not sure if each OS has its own set of installation+recovery discs...
2nd qn: if my ext HDD is already mac-formatted on my 10.5, after i back-up and upgrade to 10.6, the ext HDD doesn't have to be reformatted again and i should see what i last saw inside the ext HDD as per the backup?
Thanks for your patience in reading!!!

the technician only meant that if you bring your mac in for repairs to the apple store and THEY need to restore it they will put 10.4 back on it. that's just a policy, not a technical requirement. you yourself can do whatever you want and there is certainly no reason to ever put 10.4 back on your mac now.

oops, misread your first post. I would think it's not all right actually. 10.5 was put on your computer by mistake. you need to own a 10.5 install disk to run it legally.
I will be getting a new set of installation+recovery discs?
yes. it's just one installation disk. you only got two with the new computer because it includes ilife and didn't fit on one disk.

  • If I paid for app for iphone do i have to pay again for same app for ipad?

Hi just curious if anyone could tell me if I have purchased an app for an iphone for example My Movies pro do I have to pay again if I want My Movies pro for Ipad?
Does this depend on specfic apps or is everything free once you paid for it on either your ipad or iphone under same apple Id?
    Thanks
    Oil Country

    Hi Oil Country,
If the app is compatible with both iPhone and iPad, then you can download it to any iPhone or iPad that the Apple ID used to purchase it is signed onto.
You can go to the App Store on the iPad, then to your Purchased Items. Click on "Not on this iPad", and you should see the app listed with a little cloud next to it. Tap on the cloud to download it.
    Cheers,

I started to download Lion but internet went down, do I have to pay again?

You shouldn't. Open the App Store, login with the Apple ID and password used to purchase Lion and press your Options/Alt key. Then click on Purchases at the top of the windows. Your purchases should show up and Lion should have maybe a Resume or Install button to click on.
