Do i have to pay for a free app!??

i want to download apps from the 'apps store' but when i try to download a FREE app...it takes all creidit card details and it seems as if i have to buy it. Does it cost anything to download apps from the apps store for the first time?

No, you will not be charged for the free App or for starting up an account.

  • I bought an app but didn't sync it to my computer before deleting it when it kept crashing. I reloaded it but it didn't give me the new app or other in-app purchases. Do I have to pay for the in-apps that I already bought? It started me at level 1 also.

I made and in-app purchase but didn't sync it to my computer. It kept crashing so I deleted it and re-loaded it. When it re-loaded it was at the starting level and didn't have any of my previous in-app purchases. Do I have to pay for them again?

Previously in-app purchases should download again without any charge.  I know, it's not clear since you'll have to click on the price to download again you should get a message that it will be downloaded at no charge.

  • Do I have to pay for the In-App-Purchase of the new GarageBand-version if I already paid for GarageBand before?

    Hi there!
I am using GarageBand for some months now and I´m really happy with that software. Yesterday the new version (2.0) was released and it is now for free. However if you want the whole bundle you have to get the available in-app-purchase. This however means having to pay once again for something I already paid for, correct?
Or is the in-app-purchase for free to those people who already paid for the app?
    Thank you very much!

Just tried - sign in to the account you used to buy the software and click restore purchase. The old Garageband users are automagically given the full version by internal systems of Apple.

  • Do I have to pay for the developer app of my ipad mag?

I have a question. I am registered in the apple ios developer programn, I own adobe cs 6 and finished my first ipad magazine with adobe dps. So do I have to already buy a single edition even if I just  wanna test it or show the first versions to my customers (I got the uidds from their ipads)? Because its more like a pitch and I am not sure if they will buy my work...

Show it to them on the Adobe Content Viewer. If you have Creative Cloud, Single Edition apps are free. Other wise you're going to have to pay $395 for each.

  • If i buy an iPad app, do I have to pay for the same app for my iPhone?

I purchased an app for my iPad, $1.99 and installed it on my iPad.  I updated my iPhone and the app that I purchase for my iPad is not on my iPhone. Does that mean if I want the same app on my iPhone I have to pay $1.99 again?
    Thanks!

it was still showing the $1.99.  I had $1.51 left on my account.  I clicked "buy", it downloaded.  I assumed it would kick back that there wasn't enough money.  But I just got an email receipt from paypal for $.61.  So that didn't work.

  • TS1702 I got an ipad from work.  I have to pay for my own apps.  When I type in my apple id, it tells me that since its my first time on this device, I have to verify by answering other questions.  We can't remember the answers.  Now what?

When I go to get apps on my new ipad, I get a message that tells me I must confirm my apple id because it is the first time I"m using it.  It give me questions like what is the first concert I went to.  My partner and I have had this account so long, neither of us can rememer the answers. So, I can't buy apps.  What should I do now?

  • If i have "pages" on my imac, do i have to pay for the app for my iphone ?

if i have "iwork" on my imac, do i have to pay for the "pages" app for my iphone ?

    Yes.
But the IOS version is universal to both iPhone and iPad, so you don't have to pay again for a separate iPad version.

  • HT201364 Hi, If I do not have to pay for free installation, why am I being asked for billing details?

iCloud backs up your iOS device (not your Mac) automatically. You can remove the backup:
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm122d3ef202
and it will not back up again. This will not affect a backup made using iTunes. The notice you see refers to calendars, contacts, iWork documents and so on, which live on the server and are read from there by your Mac, and so will obviously disappear if you turn iCloud off altogether (which you don't need to do) or turn off Documents (which you don't need to do either).

  • I can not upgrade from version 9.1.5 to 9.2.3 on my IMAC free?? I have to pay for this upgrade?

I can not upgrade from version 9.1.5 to 9.2.3 on my IMAC free?? I have to pay for this upgrade?

That is a free update (not an upgrade) what happens when you try? How are you trying to update? did your Mac come with restore disks or did you download software form teh App Store? Have you logged onto the App store and checked purchased software for updates?

  • Why do I have to pay for free aps?

Why do I have to pay for free ads. I look in my bank
Statements and says they charge like 3 dollars but the ad
Says free. This isnt right nor is it fair I already paid 300
For the itouch why charge me for the free aps. It's not like I
Don't buy things from the ap store. No I don't not download
    Pro -aps.

The price of an app, and how it is marketed, is controlled by that app's developer. They certainly may advertise that an app is free, but the App Store price is the only price. If the App Store says the app is free (ie, the download button says "Free" instead of listing a price), then it's free.
If you are seeing a bill in your bank statement for a free app, that is probably coming from some kind of in-app purchase. Many apps have additional features or special game items that can be purchased within the app. A free app may still have such in-app purchases.
It's important to note that in-app purchasing should be a very transparent process. It should be made clear that you are making a purchase, and you should have to enter your Apple ID password. If you have found an app that does not make this process transparent, and hides the fact that a purchase with real money is being made, that needs to be reported to Apple as a violation of the App Store rules. If Apple agrees with you, they will remove the app from the store until the developer submits a more compliant update.

  • If you get an iPhone 5s sim free do you have to pay for data

I want to get an iPhone 5s but do want data. I was wondering if I get a sim free iPhone do I still have to pay for data?

Sim free does not mean that you can make calls or use the Internet for free. To use the
Phone, you will have to contact the wireless provider that you intend to use to see what
service plans they offer. Most wireless providers require you to have a data plan in addition
to a plan for regular phone service when using an iPhone.

  • I would like to know if you go into free downloads why cannt you dowloads more than 10 and then you have to pay for them

I would like to know if the download that are free why cann't you download more than 10 and then you have to pay for them

If it's free, then it's free no matter how many you download. iTunes might take some time if you download more than three. I have more than 400 apps and a 50 of them are free and I don't have problem.
Are you sure it was free?

  • Will i have to pay for an ios 5 download or will it be free?

    It WILL be 100% free!

  • I downloaded an app that said free, but later it turns out that I have to pay for it! Why did that happen!?!?

    I don't get it!!!

Without knowing what app you are talking about, no one here can explain what happended. We can however, make certain assumptions.
Many, free games include "in-app" purchases.... items that you can buy within the game that let you unlock other levels, or use to enhance the game experience. Some free games are lite versions and if you agree to upgrade the game, you may have to pay for the upgrade.
So like I said  without knowing what game you are talking about and what you might have done during game play, we can only guess. But .... You should have been required to enter your password when you made any purchases - unless you had already entered your password for another reason - maybe to download a free app perhaps.
Once you enter your password, you can download continuously without having to re-enter the password for a 15 minute period of time so if that's the case, only you would know what happened. If that's not the case, more details will be needed from you for a further explanation.

  • My iPod touch 4g has ruined 3 pairs of my headphones and my speakers aren't working, can I get it replaced for free? Or do I have to pay for it to be replaced?

As I said in my previous reply:
If defective, Apple will exchange the iPod at no cost unless they have been abused. That applies to Apple earphones too.
