Do i have to reset pram everyday until my laptop doesn't work anymore?

I recently got my laptop repaired for the random shut downs, and now my laptop doesn't start up. Do i have to reset it every time and risk damaging my laptop? The technician said not to reset it unless i have to or else it will damage some parts of the laptop.
the glendale galleria store won't let me get a refund. i wonder if the old town store is more generous and will at least give me a new laptop. i start college this week, so i'm so stressed out about having a defective laptop! i dont have the time to go the store for a fourth or fifth time.
macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I got my MacBook back from repair for Random Shutdowns on Monday and now it suffers from Random Proper Start-ups. The first time it happened, I took it to the Apple Store and saw a genius. He reset my PRAM and it started up fine. He gave me a case number because he didn't want to just send me away seeing that my computer has just been returned to me from repair a couple of days ago (what a nice guy ^_^ ). But this morning I had the same problem again.
I tried the hardware test on the OS X disc and it says that everything is fine. If it happens again, I'm going to take it to the store. The only thing is school starts on Wednesday for me, so I don't want to send it out for repair again. But alas, I will if I must...~_~
