Do i have to stay signed in to icloud

hi, fairly new to all my apple products(but getting there) do i need to stay signed in to icloud on my devices or can i sign out and everything will still back up etc ok?

Actually, I'd like to know the answer to this, too. I've connected to iCloud on my iMac (trying to get everything set up) in System Prefs (Lion).
After checking the boxes and everything, you click "sign out", and it asks you a bunch of questions like, "do you want to keep all your iCloud contacts on this iMac? If you don't keep a copy, iCloud contacts will be removed from this mac, but will still be available on your other devices using iCloud".
So, then you can click "Keep", or "Delete". Scary -- not familiar with any of this -- don't know what to do. So, click "Keep".
Next box, pops up. "If you stop using iCloud for calendars and reminders, calendars and reminders stored in iCloud will be removed from this iMac." "Delete from Mac" or "Cancel". Ok, I dunno....."Delete" (because I really don't have any info in any of these yet.
Next pop-up box (sigh!): "Are you SURE you want to turn off PhotoStream?" "Cancel" or "Turn off PhotoStream".
Huh? Nowhere did I tell it to turn off PhotoStream. All I did here before all this happened was click the "Sign Out" button in the System Preferences.
Any suggestions? Do we just leave ourselves signed in, and click the red X to close the system preferences? Because obviously, signing out is messing with my head right now. And I've got a whole family to set up iCloud. Ugh. I would LOVE any help! Thanks in advance!!!

Are you getting this messages in iPhoto? If so try the following (again?):
Log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane and disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane. Then log back in and re-enable, respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.

Staying signed in at iCloud.com is not a problem for me. Try resetting your browser or emptying its cache.

How do I stay signed in at the Itunes Store?

I have a question. I used to have no problems having my ITunes Store account automatically log me in. However, ever since I received the update for a new version, it now keeps me asking to manually log in. This is very annoying! How do I get the ITunes Store to automatically log me in every time I open up both the program and the store? Any tips or advice on how to find this solution and fix it?

Staying signed in at iCloud.com is not a problem for me. Try resetting your browser or emptying its cache.

Photo stream requires sign in BUT I AM signed in to iCloud

Just wiped my hard drive and am starting over.
I've set all my system prefs including signing in to my icloud account.
But when I try to turn on photo stream I get message
"Sign in to Photo Stream using iCloud
in order to use photo stream you have to be signed into your icloud account in System Preferences."
But I am signed in to icloud.

Try logging out of iCloud in the System/iCloud prefs and then log back in. Go to iPhoto and reactivate Photo Stream and see if that won't jump start the process.

Why does Googlemail not appear on the Start Page every time instead of going all through "more" and " even more etc, plus having to sign in even though I have ticked the Stay signed in box?

To get Gmail one has to click on "more" which gets one a dropdown menu which ends in "even more" Clicking on this takes one to a page headed "Even More Google Products", including (Hurrah!) M Gmail.
Click on this and one gets the page where one signs in, even though I have ticked the box entitled " Stay signed in" and at last ones's e-mail page turns up. Very occasionally, instead of Books or Shopping on the Start Page "Gmail" is there which when clicked on takes one directly to one's e-mail.It seems a hell of a rigmarole just to get one's e-mail!

You can set Firefox home page to one of your choosing, see [[how to set the home page]].
If the keep me signed in option is not working, you may have a malformed cookie. Try deleting Google/Gmail cookies, for details on how to do that see [[deleting cookies]].

I used to open Facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc. and everytime I select "Stay signed in" "Remember my password" etc. but it doesn't save my passwords and everytime I have to sign in again. I never sign out from these websites but when I open it next time, it requires username & password.
Does anybody know the problem & solution, plz help. I also found disk erros and reaoired permissiomn and the restarted and did disk utlty again and repaired the same disk errors and then did a restart and still does not remember passwords or ask me. Did all this still no luck it saved apple login on here and saved gmail account but others one it used to save does no longer.here is what i did below and still no luck.

I suggest that you run software update, after which you should have Safari 6.0.5 - then check Safari - Preferences - Privacy & see that 'Block cookies' is not set to Always.
Failing that - switch Safari extensions Off via Safari - Preferences - Extensions & test again

i have commanded that i "stay signed in" by checking the box of the same name, it's not staying signed in.
the program remembers my user id and password and they are filled in already when i go to sign in, but i'm in and out of google/gmail at least two dozen times a day and it's extremely vexing that for unknown reasons this extra step is required.

How do I set Firefox 30 preferences so I will stay signed in to various websites?

In all versions from 24 back I could close out the browser and stay signed in to several websites I use on a daily basis. After upgrading from 24 to 30 it signs me out of every website, even tho I have the keep me signed in boxes checked and I have FF preferences set to not clear cookies & to show windows & tabs from last time.
I'm not happy about v 30 as I had to install even more add-ons in order to make it more convenient to use. IMHO sometimes it's not always worth fixing when it's not broken, especially when options are removed and new ones make it less user-friendly and more like 'other' browsers. One reason I liked FF so much was that it wasn't IE or the 'other' browser. :-((

PS, Why does FF keep asking me if I want to allow silverlight when I go onto ebay? And is that something I should allow? I never needed it or was asked before v. 30.

How can I stay signed in to Hotmail on the web

I am using an Ipad 4 and every time I close Safari and reopen It, I have to enter my username and password, and there is no box to tick to stay signed in. I am more comfortable using hotmail through the web based platform rather than through the email app, so please don't suggest using that instead.
Does anyone know what's going on and how I can stay signed in?

Unless hotmail has an app or mobile interface (usually m.hotmail.com is the naming convention sites use) if there's no 'remember me' tick box, then there isnt' a way.
The lack of that box could be a security feature, but more likely that it's java based, which isn't supported on the iPad.
Have you tried to access it via another browser? There's some free ones out there that have different levels of functionality than Safari.

Adobe Reader makes me sign-in even though the STAY SIGNED IN box is checked.

I love the idea that I can view a document on my PC and as long as I'm signed-in I can later view it on my hand held device. But even though I check the STAY SIGNED IN box, whenever I close out of the program then come back I have to re-sign-in. Why won't Adobe keep me signed in as requested?

I run Kaspersky and will have to study whether it is responsible for the problem. Under its Protection Center / Application Control there are a lot of Adobe listings and then a lot of things to look at there; many of which I do not understand. So, you may be on to something Pat; but if anyone knows specifically what I should look at in Kaspersky (or elsewhere) to determine if a specific setting is eating my Adobe cookies ... I would appreciate the guidance where to look and how to fix.
