Do I have to subscribe to MobileMe (or whatever) to use iWeb?

I have my own domain name, and don`t wish to publish through apple, but I cannot tell if this is possible. It seems they force you to use their service. Is that correct? Thank you,

Vlasta ~ No. You can publish your iWeb site to a folder and then FTP it to any host. See the end of this video tutorial:
