Do I have to use the Mobile Hotspot for my Palm Pixi Plus?

I'm thinking about getting a Palm but are you required to use the Mobile HotSpot feature or is a optional application? It comes installed on the phones, yes? But do you have to use it?
And are you required to pay for it even if you don't use it? And if you are, is it an additional $40 on top of the $30 monthly data plan?

you need a lr serial for mac. the serial number for pc and mac are different.
you can download a trial lr 4 for your mac but you need a mac serial number to install.

This option (at $20/mo for 2gb) seems the most economical but what are the downsides?
Can I still use the phone at the same time for incoming/outgoing calls?
Can I turn off the "hotspot" button to conserve useage?

You cannot use the phone for calls while you are using the hotspot for data. That's a limitation of CDMA. Calls will take priority over data. I have read, but can't personally confirm, that data use on the phone while the hotspot is in use counts against the 2GB. If you plan to always have your phone with you when you want 3G data on the iPad, then you can save money by buying the WiFi version and using the hotspot. If the devices will be separated, for example use by a family member, then you may want the 3G model. You need to think about how and where you are going to use the iPad to make the best decision.

I bought an unlocked iPhone 5 and then bought a separate T-Mobile nano sim but when I tried the sim it says "the sim is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server" I then checked the settings > general > about > carrier and that says EE 14.0. Does this mean I need a nano sim from EE?

Two possibilities come to mind:
between them they are the answer to a large number of ADE problems, but I can't promise they will help in your case.
Also, a third possibility at the bottom.

Sometimes ADE gets its registration/activation confused and in a semi-authorized state.
Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
In extreme cases on the mac, the following extra step has helped some people. Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash. There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1). Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
(You can have them both installed at once if you like.)

No. Regardless of whether you use the upgrade or the full version, each version of PSE is a complete, standalone program. You will need to reinstall third party content, although for actual plug-ins some people have had success in just making an alias of the plug-in folder from the older version and putting that into the plug-ins folder in the newer version. But layer styles, effects, etc must be reinstalled in the new version.

HT1657 Everytime I try to downlaod a movie I have rented using the option Check for Rentals, nothing happens. Any ideas?

So I rented a movie using iTunes and my AppleTV device. I chose the option Rent and Watch later. I have been charged the rental fee. Yet, whenever I try and download the movie, I choose it on iTunes/Appe TV and am told that I have already rented it and I need to check the download status, via Settings, iTunes account, Check for Downloads.
Everytime I get to the Check for Downloads option, the system gets stuck. The cursor device simply spirals and spirals and spirals.
Any ideas as to what to do?

Same error message, I disabled tab mix and made sure I only have the newest version of Java, restarted firefox, now it seems to be fine no error yet on Pogo games or pictures upload to ebay which were the biggest problems besides hanging. I had also had disabled AVG secure search yesterday but that did not solve the issue. Now I will try to add back in AVG search...I have very few adds ons, also the note embedded about re- installing a toolbar went away, my old one did not work with FF4, so I installed Yahoo toolbar but the message still did not go away until I applied this fix. UnInstall the App first and then Restart the computer then Verify and Repair Permissions.
There are so many third party Apps out there that are just problematic to Mac's. I am sorry for your problems but you can Install a program like GIMP it is Free and Open Source and has always been a very good app for Mac users and it was really developed for users that couldn't afford Adobe's Photoshop.

I iwill probably use my own router but when I was checking through the various things I needed I did find that you can set up port forwarding easily enough on the HH3 by adding your own "application" in which you specify the port or ports you need to forward.
I set up my port forwarding on the HH3 when it came but I'm currently on cable and couldn't find any way to get it to work on that because there is no "connection type" option and leaving it as it is (PPPoE I assume) doesn't pass on the cable internet connection. I wanted to set it all up before the install and make sure it would work OK on my network and do everything I needed. I'll try both once the install is done. I did notice that there appears to be no way to override the default DNS at router level.

I use my laptop both at home and at work. And in each venue I use a different user log on. But I wish to have firefox use the same profile for each user log on. How can I get firefox to point to the same profile for each user?

Note that only one user (Firefox instance) can use a profile folder at the time, so if you would switch the Windows user to another account then you would first have to close Firefox.
