i have an iPhone 4S verizon version and its unlocked by carrier from verizon and momentally im in albania using with local carrier here.
Actually i have ios 5 firmware vesion and i want to know if i upgrade firmware to 5.0.1 firmware do i lose the carrier unlock ?

If you have a Japanese iPhone and are using it with any carrier other than Softbank or AU, then it was hacked, since as the others have said neither of those carriers unlock iPhones. Therefore if you upgrade iOS or restore your iPhone, it will lock back to the original carrier and be unusuable with your current cell provider.
We cannot help you with jailbroken iPhones. You'll have to look elsewhere for further assistance.

Since Verizon is a CDMA carrier, I don't think you will be able to access t-zones at all. If you simply need web access, then it is through Verizon's Mobile Web, go to your phone's menu, then look for Mobile web, or Browser options. -

I'm fairly sure the Verizon CDMA iPad 2 had no GSM sim slot. So it won't work with any other carrier except Verizon.
As far as the AT&T version goes, it should technically work but will not support 4G/LTE cellular bands.
Given iPad 2's are no longer being sold, I doubt any that could be bought would have a warranty still. Or have at most very little of it left.
Why an iPad 2? its now 3 generations behind the current one.
Perhaps an iPad 4 would be a better choice. -

What is the newest version of the verizon carrier that supposedly corrects the wifi - cellular data problem.

When I went on vacation last month. I had a problem where I was connected to wifi on my iPhone 5. But it was using my celluar data. But this was not the bug that plagued the iPhone 5 back when iOS 6 was released. This was an issue with the modem/wifi that I was using. The phone saw that, thus switched to cell for connection. When the modem/wifi worked again, it would switch back. However, unknown to me it was mostly on cell.
So I called VW and told them what had happened. The lady thought it was the issue arising again. Which I knew it wasn't, but I just played along. She ended up refunding me the $10 for going over my data package.
If you have the same problem, where you believe that the wifi you were connected to had problems. And you went over your data package. Just call VW.

My color laserjet3700n has performed flawlessly for years. Now, it no longer shows up on my network, or I get an error saying the printer is not connected. Once before I saw an error on the display that said communications board error. Now when I print a configuration map it says I/O Card not ready. LAN ERROR - LOSS OF CARRIER. Is a communications board something that would need to be replaced? Is it worth the repair, or should I consider getting a new color laserjet? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You,Pat LasleyPSL43
This printer came with the jet direct 615N which is known to have issues. First off do you get a link light on the port where the ethernet cable is connected in the rear. If you do the issue could be the card, but could also be your router. Swap the ethernet cables between the printer and the computer to see if you get the same reaction or if the computer does not connect, then you know it is the cable or the router port that has issues. If the computer still works, then it could be the card. That said you can pickup replacement 615N or 610N on ebay for 5-10 US. There is also a way to sometimes repair the old 615N. You have to bake the card. You remove the card from the printer with the power off. You then use a torx 10 screwdriver to remove the plastic back piece. You then place the card in a baking pan face up with the bottom propped up so it does not touch the pan. Preheat a good oven to 350F (177C) and when the oven is ready, place the pan with the card in the oven for 8 minutes. Remove and let cool for 10 minutes. Put the back piece back on, plug the card back in the printer and connect and you have about 50% chance it will now work. Good Luck.

Only the carrier to whom the device is locked can unlock it.
If you do not meet their requirements or they do not offer unlocking there is no official way to unlock the device.

If I go to a Verizon store tomorrow, Tuesday September 23, will there be any iPhone 6's available? I do not want the iPhone 6+, just the regular iPhone 6. I am looking to buy the 64 gb silver version, but will buy the 128 gb version if needed.

Loss of Internet connection after software upgrade
After carrying out a software upgrade last weekend which included iTunes 10.4.1, Remote Desktop 3.5.1 I'm finding that my internet connection stalls and the iMac hangs after unspecified periods of time. Sometimes I can carryout a restart, other times I require a hard reset to get the iMac running again.
All will be fine and then once again Internet will stop working and eventually the iMac will hang again.
I've tried a number of actions to see what's going on, there are no processes hung or taking up huge ammounts of CPU. If I try to refresh the IP address of the Ethernet connection from the router this is possible, but you still can't browse to a page.
I've also tried deleting some of the .plist info from the System Prefs area and having Lion re-build them but that hasn't worked either.
My next thought was a complete re-build of Lion from scratch, but before I start down that road, has anyone any other ideas?
System specs are;
iMac 2.8GHz C2Duo
4GB Ram
Running Lion 10.7.1

If you go to Control Panel -> Network Connections (For Vista and Windows 7: Network and Sharing Center) -> Double click on your Network Adaptor (Vista and 7: Top left hand corner of the Network and Sharing Center, click on 'Change Adaptor Settings' and double click on your adaptor. Click Properties and scroll down to 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP /IPv4), click Properties and make sure that 'Obtain an IP Address automatically' and Obtain DNS server address automatically' are ticked. Click Ok, then OK, then finally close. Check to see if you have connectivity. If you don't, go to start, in Run (Or in the search bar) type 'cmd'. Once Command Prompt opens, type 'ipconfig /flushdns'. Close Command Prompt and check again. If you still don't have Internet connectivity, go to Internet explorer and click Tools -> Internet Options (If you have Internet Explorer 7 or 8, press Alt before looking for tools. This will make the bar appear). Go to the Connections Tab and click on 'Lan Settings'. Make sure that you do not have 'Use a proxy server for your LAN' ticked. Also make sure that you have 'Automatically Detect Settings' ticked. Once you have done this, click Ok, Apply and Ok and check again for connectivity. If this didn't resolve your problem please post back

Why did my local Verizon store rep try to talk me out of an iPhone? He told me they were made of glass and would break. If I wanted one I should buy it somewhere else. I had to insist on the purchase telling him I have a MacBookPro and iPad and I was upgrading both my service contract and two phones.
It seems an odd way of doing business, I think it would make more sense just to say they didn't have any in stock. However I can think of four reasons. 1) budone suggested the request may have come from Apple, one reason for them to request would be they are running out of the current model of iphone. Production problems, phone related or not. 2) Whoever has Verizon's insurance on the iPhones may have stated ENOUGH! Perhaps they have replaced too many iPhones. 3) Verizon will soon be giving away the iPhones (with of course purchase of a (overpriced) phone/data plan contract), so they don't want customers complaining that they had to pay for theirs. Last but not least 4) The salesperson or store manager may have a beef with Apple (or their insurer). However, These are simply my guesses, why not call the store you purchased from and ask to speak to the manager. You may (or not) get a better answer. Hope this helps.

Why would you charge me$40 for a free upgrade? I chose a iPhone and paid you the difference plus protective cover, now you want to charge me a fee for activating a number I have had for years!!! I have been a faithful Verizon customer for years but I will switch companies when my contracts are up or I can get a buy out from another company, your free upgrade is not free and is a false advertisement as far as I'm concerned
However you had already stated you did not choose a "free upgrade", but paid the difference for an iPhone. So much for your "free upgrade". Additionally, I was not aware Verizon was in the business of giving away "free service"(s)?????? Purchasing a "free" or "reduced price" phone IS NOT a free service. You sign a contract in exchange for receiving that benefit. There is an upgrade fee along with that service you are contracted to complete or you will be charged an early termination fee(ETF), so this IS NOT a free service.
Yes, you have a choice to go with another provider which ALSO charges an upgrade fee OR charges you full retail value for your phone. So much for a "free upgrade" there.
AT&T = upgrade fee
Sprint = upgrade fee
T-Mobile = no upgrade fee but must pay full retail cost for the phone
For what it is worth, you would not have had to pay an upgrade fee had you simply paid full retail cost for your phone OR purchased it with Edge at full retail cost. Depending on your calling plan and data allowance, you may have even ended up paying less for your phone had you done so. That is why a little research before you make a purchase can go a long way.
I know it is cheaper for me to pay full retail for a phone than to purchase a discounted device in exchange for signing a contract.
